This week on A Sound Effect, we have tons of new car sound effects for all the roaring engines, vehicular destruction, and whooshing pass-bys you need, plus more!

You can hear sounds of an FSO Polonez police car, an Opel Blitz truck, racing rally cars, Foley from 13 different cars and the flipping and rolling of destroyed vehicles, as well as sounds of a 1942 SKP m/42 armored personnel carrier and a Supermarine Spitfire.

You can also check out crowd sounds from an LA comedy club, a huge worldwide sampler pack, ambiences from the dark alleys of London, sonic weapons for NI Massive, a range of sci-fi sound effects, ’80s and ’90s landlines, and a collection of Surround ambiences from a remote area of the Congo Basin rain forest.     African Jungle is a huge collection of unique ambiences recorded in Central Africa’s Congo Basin rainforests. To my knowledge, these are the first surround field recordings made in this area. Last year I spent a whole month off the grid, listening to and recording a variety of habitats at all times of day and night, at the height of the rainy season when birds are most vocal. It took me many days of travel to get to these places, from using trains, boats, cars and planes to hiking on foot in the jungle.

    The majority of recordings contain both a stereo MS decoded and ORTF version. The midside has a narrower more focused stereo image whilst the ORTF provides a wider version.

Supermarine Spitfire MK IX 1943

'Supermarine Spitfire Mk Ix 1943' by Pole Position Production includes 280 clips of this 1943 British WWII aircraft and its 1,720 horsepower Rolls-Royce Merlin 66 V12 engine. You will hear 20 takes of static and flying takes, plus 6 onboard perspectives mounted in the cockpit, engine, and exhaust while flying at different speeds, taking off, landing, and taxing.     All files are recorded 32bit, 192 kHz, with Shure KSM 137, Line Audio Omni1, FEL Clippy XLR EM272 and Sonorous Objects SO.3 microphones, Sound Devices MixPre-6 II & Zoom F3 recorders. Library contains wav files of driving, interior and exterior foley, mechanical and electrical sounds. It is also available in UCS.
