A wide range of tank sound effects recordings, covering many different tank models and eras – some closely recorded and others captured in the field
Cataclysm is a vast collection of recorded, synthesized and designed sounds created to support important destructive moments and add a stronger sense of extreme consequence to any sound.
The recorded section of library features elements such as flash powder explosions, propane cannon blasts and artillery cannons recorded in unique natural environments with violent transients and lush, long and varied tails. It also features falling trees, forge burners, large trebuchet wood groans, rock smashes as well as more ordinary items recorded and designed to feel like an over the top version of themselves such as vacuum cleaner suctions, metal vase holders, ground pounders and more.
The synthesized section of the library features equally rich textures in the form of explosion sweeteners, other-worldly environmental reflections, scorching energy risers and more.
Finally, recorded and synthesized content was employed to develop the designed section, where the hyperrealism of the recordings meets the clean yet aggressive textures of the synthesized section in catastrophic assets themed around the library’s title.

‘T-34’ by Flysound is a comprehensive sound catalog for the iconic Soviet tank. The suite of 219 recordings is a systematic compilation authored by a dedicated full service post-production team, deploying Neumann U87s, Sennheiser MKH416s, Sound Devices 788Ts, Aaton Cantar X-2s, and further top quality recording, editing, sound design, and mixing equipment.
The medium tank, instantly recognisable globally, and its professional driver have been tracked from a myriad of angles and distances, both external and onboard. The engine and exhaust (including their warm up phase), the operation and ambient sounds of the tank cabin (including radio toggle switches and foley of gas, clutch and brake pedals), the treads in motion, driving at slow, medium, and fast speeds, gear shifting, braking, stopping, turning, revving, idling and reverse – it’s all there. And wait for it… the blast of the main gun! And its reloading, turret rotation, and the hatch and door sounds. In short: this is the most attention to detail possible, giving proper reverence to the champion of classic tanks, here in this suite.
The symphonic grace of our T-34 was captured with orchestra-grade studio equipment and field kit, by professionals, for professionals, ready to be used as authentic sound, ready to be arranged into seamless edits and proper 5.1 or Atmos post-production. The 15.4 GB, 96kHz/24bit synced and multi-channel recordings have comprehensive metadata tags giving full position, microphone, and action detail. The metadata has been written to adhere to the Universal Category System.
Realistic and non-realistic (Sci-Fi) explosions, along with imaginative accompanying material such as after-blast ear ringing, fire loops, bomb timers, machinery destruction sound effects, and more. Dry and ready for any environment of your choice. The goal when creating this pack was to go beyond what explosion packs usually offer. We have included some great additions to the standard explosion sounds.
These come in multiple flavors and offer the flexibility to choose the type of debris that matches your idea. Some of the explosions are also designed to have a bit of ricochet sound in them which is desired for certain scenarios.
Made for projects that do not require realism, just some unique explosion sounds. Great for sci-fi and puzzle games for example. We also included a few retro 8bit explosion designs into this category.
Not quite realistic, but not unrealistic too! Generic all-around explosions for a variety of projects. Where there are multiple variations of an explosion like for ‘Basic (variation 1 to 4)’ it means it can be adjusted to randomly select from the 4 variations in order to provide a better experience for the gamers, especially if the sound is used a lot.
Here is where the cool stuff can be found. These ideas go hand in hand with explosions and can spice up your game.
‘Shoot ‘em up’ has never been this exciting! From powerful laser and plasma blasts, to specialised sounds such as fire, rain and laser circles, Sci-Fi Weapons: Bullet Hell adds intensity to virtual battles. With our trusty Vaemi’s El-Ma electromagnetic field mic, we’ve captured some wild electronic shenanigans, blending them with our synthetic sounds to cook up weapon effects that’ll make your players go, “Whoa!”

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.

I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.

And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
