Abandoned Shelters – The Danish Bunker Coast features mysterious and eerie sounds recorded in and around abandoned bunkers along the Danish West Coast.
The gathered ambiences form a comprehensive resource of steady winds, heavy gusts, rustling undergrowths as well as single waves and strong surfs that constantly stream and break through these inhospitable areas with concrete remains all around.
A big part of the library was recorded inside the bunkers where the strong nature elements of wind and water are transformed into heavily comb filtered textures and dark atmospheres.
African Cloud Forest is a collection of immersive ambiences recorded in Ethiopia's high-altitude montane rainforests. These recordings will transport you to the heart of remote cloud forests, teeming with wildlife and free from man-made noise.

This library consists of several kinds of wind. There are recordings of soft wind in extremely quiet open spaces at winter time. Some recordings were made in a coniferous forest in winter time – and the library also features a few sounds of canes and leaves rustle.
Recorded on a Schoeps MS set.
We all know what central London sounds like. It’s noisy, crowded, and full of people trying to sell you watches. Ok, maybe that last point wasn’t that relevant, but have you ever wondered what lies beyond?
A short drive towards the suburbs will reveal a world filled with warm beer, cricket, and endless parks, where deer roam free.
When planning this library, the intention was to capture the quieter side of the metropolis, all year round! As a result, this library will receive multiple updates over the coming months. There will be one more summer update soon, along with an autumn update, winter update, and spring update.
So far, the first version of the library contains 15 .WAV stereo files at 96kHz/24 bit, recorded with a Sony PCM-D100/1, and contains approximately 35 minutes of summer ambiances in different locations throughout suburban London. Over the following months, I’ll keep traveling around the suburbs, collecting more and more ambiances, each update representing its own season.
Each file has been carefully edited in iZotope RX in order to remove as much unwanted noise as possible, such as random shouting, barking, etc. This will provide you with clean ambiences that will add character to your projects, without distracting the audience. That being said, do please note that the recordings contain some amount of traffic noise, and some also contain airplane noise. This is, of course, unavoidable when recording in a city such as London.
In addition to that, each file has been filled to the brim with SoundMiner metadata, allowing you to quickly search through the files, waste less time and dedicate more time to what you love doing!

Over 9 hours of carefully recorded exterior ambiences, from cities, streets, squares and stations, to natural environments such as forests, parks and waterfalls.

The Forest Ambience 1 library focuses on the ambient sounds of Central Florida’s forest ecology. Â The focus of this library is a collection of as much general background ambience as possible with minimal focus on any one individual element. Â It also focuses on a Mid Day – Early Dusk time frame.
The range of ambiences include windy gusts through thick canopies, forests alive with birds and bugs, and erie dead silences void of any life recorded near one of the nation’s largest active bombing ranges. Â Also included are a few plane flyovers and some outdoor trail ambience near an apartment complex as a bonus.
Captured in environments such as:
• Bottomland hardwoods
• Pine Flatwoods
• Scrub
• Upland hardwoods
• Urban nature trail
‘Forest Ambience One’ is the first library in my nature ambience series where I intend to record the vast and unique forests of Finland and their changing sound between the four seasons.
This library consists of 21 unique pine and birch forest ambiences recorded in Northern Finland during summer. Most of the ambiences have occasional birds in them but I was lucky to capture the sound of the forests without the birds too.
Due to the varying weather during the summer I also decided to record some of the locations when it was raining lightly and also when the rain had passed to get that after rain dribble.
The average length of each ambience is between 3-5 minutes so you can easily create your own ambience loops for e.g. video games.
Forest Ambience One is recorded with Sound Devices 702 and a stereo pair of Sennheiser 8040’s in ORTF – and you get the sounds in two formats: 96 kHz, 24 bit and in 44.1 KHz, 16 bit, for more convenient ways of utilizing the sounds in games and other media.

• Harmonic Series Drones is an extension of several of my music compositions. Over the past few years, I've been very interested in data sonification, writing several pieces that turn real-time weather data into music. This library was created using a drone generator that turns weather data into sound. I built this drone generator for my piece Sitka for piano and seasonal electronics.
• Instead of pulling weather data from Sitka, Alaska, as I did in the piece, I used 2016 daily temperature data from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, a fragile place wrapped up in current political drama and now open to drilling. This library is a sonification of 2016 temperature data in ANWR. The highest global temperature on record was recorded in 2016 (2016 Global Climate Report). It is even worse in the Arctic where temperatures are warming at twice the rate of lower latitudes (2016 Arctic Report Card). With this library, you'll be able to hear the warming, and I hope this library helps to draw attention to the rapidly changing environment of the Arctic.
• Each of the forty-eight drones corresponds to the average temperature of a day in 2016, with twelve drones from each of the four seasons. The drones are built from pure tones made from tightly filtered pink noise. These pure tones are then stacked in harmonic series relationships. For instance, a winter drone might consist of the fundamental and four lowest partials. A summer drone could have the fundamental and partials seven, fourteen, and thirty-two.
• The drones stand on their own without the story. If you never knew they started with weather data, you would still find a variety of pure, rich, microtonal drones with enough variety to fit the mood of any project.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
A Sound Effect is a great resource for keeping up on what's out there in the SFX library world. The site is well organized and it's easy to find stuff.
I love the behind the scenes articles - and the ability to purchase directly through the site is super convenient. The process is very straight forward and painless. I recommend it all the time.
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
