  • Mechanical 3D Printer (NSL) Play Track 209+ sounds included $45

    Get the sounds of a Printrbot 3D printer – with four NEMA 14 stepper motors -, in this interesting SFX library by New Sound Lab.

    The high torque motors connected to a pulley system control the X-Y-Z movements of the aluminum extruder and metal print bed. When printing three-dimensional objects, these fast and precise movements result in a unique barrage of percussive and rhythmic mechanical noise.

    These sounds were captured using three different recording setups: Barcus Berry contact mics, RF coils, and combined contact mic / RF coil into a Sound Devices 702 recorder.

    The resulting sounds are a mix of grainy, gritty atonal patterns, robotic percussive bleeps, glitchy digital beeps/clicks, low fidelity drones, and chaotic noise. Both raw recordings, and processed elements are included and ready for further sound manipulation.

  • 3Dimensional Printing is the multicolored result of different recording sessions of a couple of 3D printers (the Sharebot NG – Next Generation and the DeltaWASP 20 40) at Fabb and at FabLab Milan between 2014 and 2015.
    All the sounds were recorded directly as uncompressed .wav files through both a RME Fireface UCX and a Zoom H6 Portable Recorder.
    Duration ranges vary from 1 to 5 minutes, with the most sonically interesting excerpts from full printing cycles. Lots of pattern and sequences are available for selection and transformation.
    Five different transducers were chosen to capture all the sonic details of these mechanisms:
    – C-SERIES pro contact microphones, hand-made by Jez Riley French;
    – Barcus Berry 4000 Planar Wave System (Piezo crystal sensor+4000XL Piezo Preamp);
    – Piezo Film Tab Contact Microphones by Cold Gold Audio;
    – Custom Induction Coil Pick-up (also used to create the Unseen Noises collection);
    Zoom MSH-6 MS Capsule (the stereo image of the Mid-Side recordings is rendered as balanced stereo LR files).

  • In this bundle you will receive three libraries full of dark, glitchy and ambient textures. 'Glitch & Noise' brings abstract and interesting tones to your sound palette. • Electricity Electromagnetic Play Track 1200+ sounds included $69

    The sound library that you didn’t know you needed, a collection of electromagnetic sounds presented in Ultra-HD 24-bit 192k resolution. First a little science lesson: All Electric devices produce a magnetic field. Usually, you don’t hear this field. And you can’t record it with a normal microphone. You need to use an induction coil pickup. These pickups are commonly used to record telephone conversations. But, hold them up to an electric device and all sorts of chaos ensues.

    This library features various motors recorded with an induction coil pickup, as well as TVs, mobile phones, car ignitions, light bulbs, you name it. Many items that you use everyday give off amazing magnetic fields and we happily recorded as many as we could. The second half of this library is all synth sounds that, at times, sound even more electric than the real stuff.

  • Need electric sounds such as sparks, current flows and electric arcs? • Drones & Moods Kyma Ambiences – vol.1 Play Track 56 sounds included, 112 mins total From: $49

    Kyma Ambiences [USO003] is the third sound effects bundle created by Matteo Milani.

    The generation of these “Artificial Reality Ambiences” starts entirely in Symbolic Sound Kyma from the processing of white and pink noise by filtering – in the time/spectral domains – and convolving these sources with custom FM, additive, formant and granular synthesis.

 The composition’s resource of sound material is drawn solely from these processed stochastic sound elements: coloured noise is a raw material already full of life and can be sculpted into a variety of temporal forms, movements and textures.

    The interaction with Kyma was typical of a composer who explored a device’s potential for sound transformation like a musical instrument. The goal was to obtain an organic and acoustic quality using only a restricted sound source, in order to evoke real spatial characteristics attached to each invented sound.

    The “Kyma Ambiences vol.1” sound effects collection is published @ 96kHz (native) – and is also available as dual-layer separated “Elements”, suitable for recombinant stratification, varispeed and spatial positioning in the surround field (for a total of 112 files @ 96kHz).
