Nothing slaps a smile on a face like the sweet sound of destruction and mayhem. To create such havoc, one must be equipped with the ultimate destruction sound library.
We stopped at nothing to put together this library of utter mayhem. BROKEN boasts over 9 GB of HD quality content spread across 1940 construction kit sounds and 326 designed sounds. From car crashes, explosions, crumbling buildings, earthquakes, ripping earth and metal, to debris, BROKEN features all elements of destruction.
Recorded in the field and on the Paramount Pictures Foley stage, this library equips sound designers for film, games, and web with the tools for creating a ruckus.
Get wrecked. Get BROKEN.

This fire collection is about small and unusual burning material. Here is great material that will fuel a large fire. Torch sounds recorded inside and outside. Flame with carbide chemical fire and Nitro gas burning. Pure flame sounds that become massive when slowing them down. And a gas flame thrower that will burn you down. Always ambisonic, definitively immersive.
Fire Burning Stove is a 30-minute collection of fire ambiences. With 21 files to choose from, the library was recorded throughout the life cycle of a fire. Featuring multiple variations, examples include the initial start up, full intensity and even down to the last dying embers.
Using both closed and open door perspectives, typical fire traits such as whining, crackling and popping can be heard throughout. A number of recordings also include the metal of the stove expanding/contracting due to to the heat.
Short of incinerating the recording gear, the library was recorded using a close mic'd perspective. With a minimum of 1 minute recorded per file, Fire Burning Stove was also entirely produced with looping in mind.
Need the sound of burning fire, flames, fizzles, ignites, melting, crackling, rumbling, fire popping, or flame hissing?
This library is hot stuff in every sense of the word, delivering a range of burning sounds from a wide range of sources, including branches, black powder, burning bags, butane torches, celluloid, deep-frying batter, flares, gas stoves, frying pans, matches, sparkling candles, boiling water, huge torches and much more.
Fireballs is a powerful high-definition collection of whooshing, roaring, bursting, sparking, whipping, zipping, sizzling and crackling fireballs, fire sound effects and infernos – created in collaboration with flame effects expert Cary Sparx.
Aside from the flaming staves, rope darts, fire swords, meteors and flamethrowers that you’d hope for, you’ll also get some additional, unusual, tonal flame effects.
The sounds are also great for more textured whooshes and swishes, or adding punch to impacts, or generally getting that extra bassy oomph out of your badass sound creations.
Fireworks frankly are a difficult thing to record due to a mixture of legal restrictions, location, and price. This little collection are all sorts of novelty and aerial fireworks shot in a very remote desert with no birds, bugs, cars or anything of the sort, recorded at 192 with a spaces pair of Sanken CO100k microphones in close proximity for pitch and speed manipulation.
No microphones were hurt in the making of this library

This library was made for the small stuff. I have always had a hard time finding small fire sounds. I work mostly in games, and trying to find a small fireplace sound, or torches on the wall in a castle, or perhaps a candle or oil lamp sound, are impossible to find in commercial libraries! I've always been unhappy with what I had to make for those elements. So, I went to work getting small and delicate fire sounds.
It took multiple field recording trips using a variety of different materials to find the best small fire sounds. Finally, after a lot of hard work (and smoke to the lungs), here is the Small Fire SFX Library!

A burning building is a pinnacle of danger, but here's your chance to hear a controlled one! This library captures a wooden summer cottage burning down to the ground. It contains fire at various intensities and random debris as the house falls apart. A number of microphones were positioned around the house to cover the exteriors, and one microphone was inside the house to cover the early stages of the fire spreading inside. A few crackles, sparks, and debris are also included as sweeteners.
The Complete Collection contains 1373+ sound effects from every sound library that we have released so far. It features Sci-Fi, Fire, Ice, Mecha, Rocks, and Plastic sound effects, including ambiences, drones, textures, swooshes / wooshes, impacts, glitches, sequences, and more. Royalty-free.

Thermal Flux is a sound effects library formed by extreme temperature reactions. With materials ranging from -119°F to 1900°F all captured at 192kHz/24bit, it's a fiery (and icy) collection of unique sound design source material.
In each recording, props with vast temperature differentials interact with each other… Red hot ball bearings vaporize liquids, melt ice, and destroy various household products. Extremely cold metal instantly freezes water. Molten metals and glass pour into water, groaning, chirping, and crackling, as they solidify. Dry ice causes coins to viciously chatter. Water beads bounce, whine, and buzz on blazing hot pans. White hot sand roars and erupts upon contact with water. All of this and more was recorded with mics capturing quality frequency information up to ~65kHz. This ultrasonic content allows for extreme pitch shifting without compromising fidelity.
The torch whoosh is a staple amongst whoosh sounds. Great movement, different speeds and bursts with nice bottom end for pitching. Add some variety to your collection with these fiery by’s.
Vaeyan IV delivers a massive set of assorted sound design ingredients for your audio alchemy. It includes assets captured from natural ambiances, vehicles, tools, cameras, slingshots, scissors, clay whistles, flutes, ceramic jars, dumpsters, kitchen appliances, deconstructed fans, toys, doors, windows, vintage furniture, fountains, projectors, and even a slap bracelet. That's right, a slap bracelet.
As with Vaeyan I, II, and III, this is a huddling of field recordings and sound designs that do not quite form a library on their own. However, together they make up an audio FX treasure chest gleaming with gold and silver audio loot!
MAFX019 Volcano is a collection of unique sounds recorded in Ethiopia’s Afar region at Erta Ale volcano. Erta Ale is one of only a handful of volcanoes with lava lakes in the world, situated in the Danakil Depression, one of the hottest and most inhospitable places in the world. The name means Smoking Mountain in the local Afarigna language and Erta Ale does not disappoint in this regard, as you can see in the video. This place is also known as the Gateway to Hell, an appropriate moniker given the 47C/117F temperatures and lots of dead fauna we encountered.
There were only a few lava pits when the library was recorded but plenty of continuous and violent toxic gas releases. Occasionally the ground would move creating low frequency rumbles and debris falling. I had to use a long boompole in order to suspend my trusty MKH8060 over the edge and I improvised a spaced omni array by taping the MikroUsi mics to a video tripod ballhead. The expedition wasn’t 100% risk-free but it was more than worth it for these beautiful sounds.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
