George Vlad has been recording pristine and immersive nature soundscapes for more than a decade. In 2015 he launched Mindful Audio so he could share his ever-increasing collection of recordings with audio professionals. He draws on his experience living and working in unforgiving conditions where he captures sounds that very few people have access to.
His quest to record and preserve these soundscapes has taken him to places like the Amazon, Congo and Borneo rainforests, Iceland, West Africa, the East African savanna, the Southern African bush, the Ethiopian highlands, an active volcano, the hottest and most lifeless place on earth, and many others. Mindful Audio libraries come with extensive species lists and cover these beautiful environments in exquisite detail.
Beyond nature and wildlife, Mindful Audio offers vehicle, aircraft and sound design elements libraries.

Amazon Jungle is a collection of unique ambiences recorded in the Amazon rainforest on the border between Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. The library was recorded during the rainy season when birds are vocal and humidity is at its highest. These recordings feature species such as the Screaming Piha, Toucans, Howler Monkeys, Trogons, Tinamous, Owls, very vocal Bamboo Rats and a multitude of insects and frogs.

The primordial sounds captured by George Vlad in this library are a treasure trove of high quality otherworldly atmospheric ambiances which evoke powerful, raw emotions you’d be hard pressed to find in any other commercially available library. The applications are numerous, from the obvious barren twisted landscape of otherworldly planets, to the depths of hell, to starship bellows or chemical labs of evil masterminds, to subtle layering in otherwise common scenarios or for use in spellcraft or magic sound effects, these sounds will add an unique quality. The risks and costs of such an expedition cannot be understated and I’m very much grateful this library exists!
– Florian Ardelean – on the Volcano library
I have never been to Senegal, but if ever do get there I will be disappointed if it doesn’t sound like George’s recordings. Deep and rich choruses, with insects that stack like the instruments of an orchestra, George’s recordings never fail to impress or educate me.
– Andy Martin – on the African Wild West library
