Bells and chimes are useful in sound design and music production as they are adding organic vibes to your sound.
For this purpose, many esoteric bells and chimes were recorded from various angles, dynamics and with pristine sound quality.
Here you will find not only traditional bells (used in hotels or boats), but also exotic Chinese and Tibetan bells, wind chimes of different sizes and esoteric tuned resonators that generate unusual harmonies and soundscapes.
This is also a great library for further processing, pitch mangling, granulation and sound experimenting.
Singing bowl is a type of metal or glass/crystal bell that vibrates and produces a rich, deep tone when played. Also known as Himalayan or Tibetan, singing bowls are used in meditation and yoga practice.
Singing bells are very useful in sound design and music production, because of rich and slowly evolving tones and textures.
For this library I recorded metal and crystal singing bowls in many different sizes.
Also, several polyphonic performances, played by trained yoga-master, are included as a bonus.
Large acoustic bass drums are often used in trailers, movies, video games and other multimedia projects in which tension moments need to be emphasized.
For this library, I recorded several large REMO and MEINL drums, as well as custom handmade shamanic tambourines. Here you can find not only clean recordings, but processed with distortion/overdrive, drum rolls and also unusual foley, which can be used for sound design.

Shamanic Drums is a cinematic instrument built from 360+ sample recordings of hand drums and voices.
Our Audio Craftsmen edited, balanced and programmed 4 round robins and 3 velocity layers for each articulation before integrating them into our Kontakt interface, giving Film Composers and Music Producers an extensive set of unique percussion to use in their tracks. These sounds are perfect for trailer percussion loops, rhythmic tension, electronic music and cinematic scores. We also included performed loops that can add interesting ethnic layers to your music.

Our user-friendly Kontakt interface provides a variety of controls that encourage experimentation within the patches. Dark ERA, ancient pagan music and the sound of the Vikings
With Dark ERA, Eduardo Tarilonte – the master of mystical sounds – leads us back into the dark age where legends were born and where old northern gods still determined the fate of mankind. This library allows you to discover sounds to which the vikings and other already forgotten cultures and tribes were celebrating and singing their myths.
The fascinating sound of Dark ERA ranges from the transcendental drones of the ancient stringed-harp Tagelharpa to the unmatched grace of the gut-stringed Lyre to the distinctive and characteristic sound of the Nordic bone flutes and the overtone flute Fujara. Goose bumps are guaranteed with the sound of war horns such as the wooden Lur, thunderous mighty percussion, a full ensemble of frame-drums as well as mystical throat chants.
These instruments are complemented by an impressive collection of pulsating pads and atmospheric soundscapes which evolve over longer periods. These unique sounds ensure that Dark ERA can clearly be regarded as the next masterpiece created by Eduardo Tarilonte.
„Electric Taishogoto“ for Audiomodern’s Soundbox features a virtual instrument based on the traditional japanese instrument “Taishogoto”, also known as the “Nagoya Harp”. The version recorded for this Soundbox instrument is an original electric Sporano Taishogoto made in Japan in the early 1990s.
It offers a unique combination of traditional and experimental sounds for a wide range of musical applications,
The instrument features meticulously sampled recordings of the DI signal with 2-4 velocity layers per patch in the strummed version. There are also two different velocities for key presses (as the taishogoto can be played with pressing the keys only), capturing subtle variations in mechanical clicking on the attack and the overall sound. And you will get some sounds of a bowed taishogoto, too.
The raw recordings were processed using a selection of vintage and boutique gear to give the instrument a distinctive character. Flavors like preamp overdrive or distortion and even a damaged character, with authentic grit and noise are provided in the patches. All processing is done with real hardware units (except the internal fx in soundbox for some of the patches), no FX software or emulations have been used. This processing includes effects such as a broken Tape Delay from the 1980s, various distortion pedals, vintage 90s rack guitar FX units and some lofi pedals, all of which contribute to the unique tonal qualities of the Electric Taishogoto.
IMPORTANT: You will need the free Soundbox Engine to use this product, which can be downloaded here: www.audiomodern.com/soundbox
This is the version for Audiomodern soundbox engine. You can also purchase a version for NI Kontakt here – which has a wider variety of sounds and a deeper sampling architecture like strumming direction per keyswitch and round robins.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
