The creative sound designers in our community has released a treasure trove of new libraries for you to hear. In this recap, listen to 20th-century engines, EMF recordings from around London, intense transitions and whooshes, vocalizations from a Moog synthesizer, fight sounds from all ages, otherworldly underwater sounds, massive mutant insects, and designed drones inspired by glaciers.
Also, listen to ambiences from Tokyo, Ethiopia, the rivers of Suffolk, empty factories, and room tones from every spot in the house. Happy listening!
'Old Engines Grab Bag' by Sound Mind - Michal Fojcik is a pack of old, unique and characterful engines from early 1900s. This massive 56GB multitrack 192kHz collection has old tractors and stationary engines, both diesel and gasoline fueled.
'African Cloud Forest' by Mindful Audio is a collection of immersive ambiences recorded in Ethiopia's high-altitude montane rainforests. These recordings will transport you to the heart of remote cloud forests, teeming with wildlife and free from man-made noise.
'Crowds And Streets In Tokyo' by Anti-Node Design features this enormous city with its unique landscape and atmospheres. Once you step into one of its alleys, skyscrapers defuse the traffic sound which becomes city rumbles of distant trains and distant traffic.
'Magnetic Fields Vol.2' by Trent Williams is a science fiction adventure with the delicate high frequencies of an OLED display panel, huge low frequencies of the London Underground, magnetic tension of a public bus, the grind and stress of a lint shaver servo, and more.
'Fight Vocalizations' by Articulated Sounds brings you material to "soundify" combat and fight scenes - covering 20 actors, with kids, teen, middle-aged, and elderly male and female professionals.
'Thriller Whooshes and Transitions' by Sound Response contains transition SFX, designed using exclusively organic source sounds recorded with high-end recorders and microphones, in order for effects to be more raw-sounding.
'Analog Robot' by New Sound Lab delivers sounds from a Moog analog synthesizer, ranging from from raw lo-fi zaps, buzzes and glitches, to more futuristic high-tech robot movements, morphs, vocalizations and drones.
'Hydro Contact' by GainWalkers brings you 273 audio files for any kind of scene set underwater or in outer space, for pitch shifting, time stretching or to add a weird tone to your soundscape.
'House Tones' by Badlands Sound features 57 two-minute seamless loopable roomtones totaling of almost two hours of different room tones found in a home including bathrooms, basements, bedrooms, closets, garages, laundry rooms, kitchens, and more.
'Factory Tones' by Badlands Sound has 17 two-minute seamless loopable roomtones, making these a breeze to work with. These sounds were captured with no one around, offering factory room tones that are steady with very little movement or noises from the outside world.
'River Estuary' by MWFX is a series of recordings centred around the River Deben estuary in Suffolk, an area famous for its natural beauty and wading bird calls that give the estuary its unique sonic character.
'Glacier Ambience' by Cujo Sound is a pack of ambient drones created especially for the purpose of being used anywhere - if your voice-over needs life, your video needs a mood, your sound design ambience needs a lift, and more.
'Mutant Insects - Flying' by The Red Libraries gathers a wide range of oversized wings for equally-oversized designed flying insects, along with an extremely rich toolbox. It allows you to quickly and easily create flying creatures and mutants and also sweeten or emphasize details with natural layers.
