Another huge amount of excellent releases from the sound effects community, so we’re dividing this recap into two again. First up, we have five new libraries that are all about the feels. You’ll hear the rustling of branches and leaves of Danish trees, squeaky and wet sounds of smooching, boiling and trickling plastic that would intrigue the periodic table, bubbling tones of smooth and musical UI sounds, and the crinkling and tearing of paper and cardboard. Whether you are looking for organic sounds of humans and nature or abstract textures for a user interface, these libraries will surely give you the “touch” you need.
'Wind In Trees' by hzandbits features wind rushing through the foliage of rustic Denmark. Recorded far away from humans, these pine trees, fir trees, and wintery oaks sway in the breeze and survive harsh storms during late fall to the dead of winter. This library captures rustling leaves, branches, twigs, and creaking trunks, as well the tall grass, hedges and reeds along the floors of the Nordic landscape. For detailed textures of wind that would be hard to synthesize, listen to this library.
'Kiss' by Articulated Sounds is a collection of cute, friendly kisses that would give anyone's lips a workout. In this library, you get a variety of kissing sounds that range from long strenuous smooching sounds to short and soft, simple pecks. You will hear kisses that are that humorous, passionate, soft, noisy, cartoonish, quirky, and strange. Plus these high-quality sounds could be manipulated for other squeaky and mouthy situations like creature calls or even vehicles that need a tune-up. If the sound of lips pressed together is what you need, check out this library.
'Designed Plastic' by Gregor Quendel focuses on our favorite synthetic compounds. With 110 sounds, it has abstract textures that have been layered, morphed and shifted for sounds of boiling, rippling, creaking, droning, ripping and more that are somewhere between liquids and solids. These sounds not only work for otherworldly plasma storms and drones, they could also inspire new alien character designs, granular motion, and so much more. If you are looking for something that will give your sound recognition skills a workout, definitely listen to this library.
Are you looking for sounds for the next free-to-play giant? Whether your developers are still in the prototyping phase or trying to gain a user base, 'Mobile Game' by Epic Stock Media will help your project grab your players' attention with iconically musical and textured sounds. It includes ringing coins, bubbles, contraptions, trinkets, UI sounds, pleasant tones, and much more as a collection of 578 sounds. If you are looking to gamify a learning topic or compete with King, this library will make your audience feel instantly at home.
'Paper & Cardboard' by Sound Ex Machina gets you 500 sounds of pressed pulp action. This library has close-up sounds of paper, newspaper, magazines, books, photographs, Chinese fans, storage boxes, catalogs, toilet paper, and much more for a collection of sounds that are assorted and distinct. With these paper sources, it includes ripping, throwing, flapping, rustling, crumpling, and dropping in both designed, ready-to-go SFX and raw sounds for foley. Whether you need realism in your linear project or quick access to professional sounds, this library will have your material needs covered.
