This week on A Sound Effect, we have five new libraries that cover a variety of places and subjects. You can hear sounds of lifting weights in an indoor gym or enjoy ambiences of suburban Chicago. 'The Gym – Sounds of Bodybuilding' by Christophe Davaille gets you the sounds of pumping iron in a gym. You'll hear the clings and clangs of placing weights on the barbells, bench pressing, lifting dumbbells, power lifting, and more. You'll also hear what goes on before and in between workouts like getting water, putting on lifting gloves, and attaching a phone armband. If your characters like to lift things up and put them down, this is the library for you.
'Wooden Fence Destruction' by InspectorJ has over 500 sounds of just what the title says. With sounds of bashing, dropping, scraping, snapping, cracking, and shaking a wooden fence, you'll get tons of SFX for wooden debris and impacts in your projects. The library also includes recordings of sawing and rummaging through the pieces, as well as raw and designed sounds. If you need the sounds of wood being demolished, this library should have you covered.
'Piano, Mallet Strikes and FX' by InspectorJ is a library that will show you where all those cool, creepy cinematic sounds come from! Using a metal mallet and a piano, this surreal hand-made library has nearly 1,000 sounds that include strikes, scrapes, and glissandos, as well as metal strikes that cover the full range of the piano and give you five types of natural reverb, from instant dampening to full sustains. 'Suburbs of Chicago: Spring' by All You Can Eat Audio shows off the residential areas of this great city. With sounds of distant cars and motorcycles, roaring lawnmowers, dogs and bird calls, rustling leaves, wind chimes, and even a tennis match, you'll get a sense of peaceful Midwestern living. Each file ranges from 2 minutes to 55 minutes, so you'll have plenty of options for how you choose to use them! 'BMW 325i – 2006' by TS Sound gets you the sounds of a 2006 BMW 325i from its interior and exterior perspectives.
