Analogue Ordnance

Analogue Ordnance is a massive construction kit for science fiction weapon sounds, made entirely with hardware synthesizers, mastered entirely in the analogue domain, and with more variations per sound than any library of its kind. Absolutely no software plug-ins of any kind were used in its creation, except for its collection of ready-to-use designed sounds to show what can be done with the library’s constituent parts.

Masterminded by sound designer Nathan Moody, this library’s unique sonic language delivers about five hours of material, pushed hard through op amps, transistors, tubes, and transformers. Boutique and unique, customized synthesizer modules were used in conjunction with mastering-grade studio hardware to create sounds that range from retro and cute to modern and devastating.

Sounds are organized into mechanical, thump, body, tail, and charge-up groups for truly modular weapon construction. Each group has six to eight “banks” of related sounds, many with intensity (light, heavy) and duration (short, medium, and long) options. Nearly all sounds include 16 variations. In addition to the construction kit elements, some fully-designed weapon sounds are provided (using only the sounds from the construction kit), designed by Nathan Moody, Chase Steele, Axel Steichen, and Sergio Ronchetti.

But the flexibility doesn’t stop there. Reversing the sounds suddenly turns charge-ups into body elements, and vice versa. Each group has some frequency overlap with the others, so they can be mixed interchangeably outside of their labeled or intended uses with filtering and time/pitch manipulation. While the sounds are designed to be layered with themselves, this library plays very well with others, providing thousands of sweeteners to “tech up” any near-future gun or projectile-based firearm, magical attacks, superhuman abilities, or even user interface elements.

Add some hardware to your warfare. From concealable stun pistols to orbital artillery, Analogue Ordnance provides a fresh injection of new source material for your sci-fi weapon designs.

Ultimate Magic Spells Sound Effects

Once again by listening to suggestions from you, the developers, the following format was decided as the most beneficial for each spell: Cast, Shoot, Loop, Target Hit. We also included a lot of Buffs, some De-Buffs, and a few Spawn sounds.

The beauty of this pack is that you can even mix the elements from different spell types to create your own. There is no right or wrong in a fantasy world! If you read a bit more below, I’ll provide some good tips to make the most of this pack. This pack can be used for video projects where magic is needed as well, it’s not strictly made for games of course.

WHAT DO THE ACTIONS MEAN?

  • Cast: This action can happen for example before shooting the spell. You can make the cast longer by using the Loops provided until it’s time to shoot the spell.
  • Loops: Our 40 loops provided are top-notch quality with seamless transitions. They are not strictly bounded by a spell type. They are useful right after the spell Cast, or even after the Target Hit where they can linger a bit until they fade out.
  • Shoots: For the sound of a launched spell, we use the Shoot action. Shoots don’t have any impact characteristics, which is why in the moment of connection we use Target Hit.
  • Target Hit: This is triggered when your spell hits the target. Strong impact characteristics with fast attack time.
  • Buffs and De-Buffs: These can be activated by a spell, or however you want them to appear. They are not spell-type bound and can be used in any way that you need.
  • Spawns: A few bonus sounds good for spawning enemies.

USEFUL TIPS:

  • You really only need 2 things to connect your actions smoothly, and those are Fade-Ins and Fade-Outs. Depending on their curve, you’ll get different results. For example, if you want to use a Loop with your Cast, trigger them at the same time but give the Loop a long Fade-In, so that it comes to the first plan right as the Cast sound goes down. At the same time that your Target Hit starts, initiate a steep Fade-Out on the Shoot SFX. It all depends on what you need for your game of course.
  • Play with the overall volume of the Loops if necessary. I found that lowering the volume of the Loop makes it blend much better with the rest of the Actions when used in the context of spells.
  • Use Loops, Spawns, or other actions to create Portal sounds!
  • Mix Shoots and Target Hits with your Sword and other melee weapons to give them magic properties.
  • Experiment and create different arrangements, with actions from different spell types.

Punch and Kick – Smart Martial Arts Striking Sound Pack

The idea behind this pack is straightforward but incredibly effective. You can easily mix our ‘default strike’ sounds with your chosen ‘layer’ sounds, and they will sound great together. This works because all our ‘default’ and ‘layer’ sounds are perfectly synchronized. You don’t need to adjust their timing; they naturally fit together. Feel free to get creative with different sound combinations and optionally adjust the volume of each layer to create your desired strike sound.
