This week on A Sound Effect, we're diving into a diverse collection of sound libraries that will have your ears perking up. From the raucous to the serene, there's something here for every audio project.

For those seeking realistic and immersive sounds, we have sounds of Okefenokee swamps, California grasslands, peaceful streams, and two new birdsong collections, plus sounds of grunting pigs and seamless city ambience loops.

For new vehicles, you can hear everything from a '05 SEAT Leon and '15 Corsa to a '20 Tesla Model Y, as well as golf carts, drone quadcopters, and even rumbling trains.

    The approach for this pack was to create sounds for amazing video games that are explicit in their combats. Let the blood flow!

    I recorded some fruits and vegetables in a garage to make this possible.

    There are different types of SFX inside this pack: blood, bleeding, stabs, blood spill, punches with blood, bites, flesh, hit with blood, spills, wounds, etc…

    They can be used in different styles of video games or other media projects.

    I hope you enjoy implementing this sounds in your project!

     

    Making-Off

    All this sounds were originally recorded with a Zoom H6 (cardiod microphone), and were edited in Logic Pro X, I used plugins like “PitchMonster” that have granular pitch to shape the original recordings.

     

    Some considerations

    Keep in mind this sounds can be used in a variety of situations, I put a name to the SFX but this doesn’t mean it can’t be used in other contexts.

    Behind The Sounds:

    The AMB01 Okefenokee Swamp library contains 39 ambient swamp soundscapes filled with songbirds, owls, crickets, wind, jumping fish, frogs, and more.

    By renting a canoe and paddling over 30 miles into the swamp, I was able to capture and experience the heart of the swamp with no distractions for four days.

    Maximized for realism, each track was recorded with x2 Sennheiser MKH 8020 microphones in a quasi-binaural SASS array. This technique gives each ambience a three-dimensional sound image that makes listeners feel like they’re actually there.

    The California Grassland Bundle includes two Libraries, California Grassland Abandoned and California Grassland Wildlife. The recordings from this library mostly took place in The Carrizo Plain, an open expanse of Grassland located West of the Mojave Desert in California’s Central Valley.

    California Grassland Abandoned recordings feature dilapidated remnants of old ranches, water tanks, barns, metal sheds, farm machinery, and corrals.  Many of these were far off the beaten path and a number of miles were logged along dirt and gravel roads.  The focus was to record things that had a lot of character.  Also included are calm, medium, and higher winds in metal sheds, small houses, barns, tall dry grass, and in some exterior locations out in the Plain.

    California Grassland Wildlife features of over 30 different species of birds that can be found in Grassland, Plains, and High Desert Environments.  Also included are a few recordings of Coyotes, Grasshoppers, Insects, along with some quieter ambiences.

    At first glance, one wouldn’t think there’d be much wildlife out in such a vast remote area, but I discovered the Grassland has quite a bit going on.  A lot of the old structures, along with the few areas with trees become the resting place and shelters for birds and animals.  Over a span of two years I made a number of trips to this location trying to capture as much of the local wildlife as I could.

    World Of Secrets is a collection inspired by those mysterious and beautiful objects and furniture, meticulously designed by 15th to 19th century’s craftsmen. Those geniuses used their art to protect what had to remain confidential or secret.

    One of the mentors of that art was Leonardo Da Vinci, master of inventions, designing incredible mechanisms for his machines. After much research, and a large photo review session, Red Libraries has designed this collection of modules to assemble as you wish.
    A bookcase, a desk, a sarcophagus, a hidden door, a statuette, a cane with a retractable blade, a poison ring, an old grimoire.. each of them will reveal its secret mechanism, from the delicate parts assembled by the jeweler, to the smooth slides of hinges designed by the cabinetmaker.

    Materials & Texture Sound Effects Lockdown Play Track 1700+ sounds included $46

    Get a huge variety of simple or complex lockdown mechanism sounds with a wide array of different latches and impacts with Lockdown, a performable Kontakt instrument and sound effects library.

    We brought in dozens of props big and small to generate a massive array of source material recorded at 24 bit 192kHz. These included cameras, carabiners, wrenches, rack cases, knives, can openers, tongs, crimpers, solder suckers, file cabinet doors, vehicle doors and servos and much more – all with multiple unique performances per set.

    Great care was taken to record each performance with the highest sonic quality and detail. We chose a pair of MKH50s in XY as our primary setup, creating a big, clean stereo image on every sound.

    Lockdown is divided into two parts –
    elements and designed:

    The elements collection has all of the source recordings in their unaltered states. Each sound is edited, cleaned, volume matched and carefully metadata tagged.

    The designed collection uses samples based on the elements recordings that have been transformed into entirely new and different sounds using heavy processing and layering. It was created to produce interesting design and transition sounds quickly and easily. Lockdown includes over 500 fully lockdowns of all sizes and scales.
