The podcast roundup is back, and this time we have 7 recommended podcasts from film sound, game audio, and music.

You can hear from Austin Wintory about his upcoming work, listen to a conversation about the sound of Battle of the Sexes, and even experience a robot/human mastering face-off which compares the โ€œearsโ€ of LANDR, Aria and iZoTope Ozone with the likes of Sterling Sound and Steven Slate. And that's not even half the episodes! Happy listening!

The Mastering Show โ€“ Show 43 โ€“ Man versus machine โ€“ automated mastering:

Episode outline: โ€˜Can robots really master our music? Kenny Gioia set up poll on Facebook to see, asking people to choose between six different masters of the same song โ€“ three by humans (including Sterling Sound and Steven Slate) and three by machines (LANDR, Aria and iZoTope Ozone).

The great thing is, the test was blind, and loudness matched โ€“ so no-one knew which master they were listening to, and loudness didnโ€™t influence the way the masters sounded.

And the results of the poll were fascinating. In this show Kenny reveals which master was which, and we discuss the results โ€“ including:

* Why this is not a scientific test
* Ianโ€™s blind comments on the masters, including his instincts about which was which
* Why the poll results are probably skewed
* When automated makes sense
* What the robots still canโ€™t do โ€“ and maybe never willโ€™
