This week we have three rare and specific libraries by Krotos and a new library by Immersive FX. Krotos presents us with crystal clear close ups of parrots, otters and black leopards, and Immersive FX offers us over an hour of city thunderstorms. If you’re in the search for big birds, big cats, big thunder and baby otters, this is your week!
Baby otters are cute, but they create quite the interesting sounds! 'Otters' by Krotos Audio displays the range of these little otters' 'baby talk'. They moan and whine both alone and in groups, as well as in relaxed and aggressive states. This library was also recorded at 192 kHz, so there are definitely some interesting creatures hidden in these waveforms just waiting to be stretched and revealed. If you're looking for interesting, hard-to-find vocalizations of one of the most notoriously cute mammals around, this library is the one for you.
The 'Black Leopard', also known by its genus panthera, is featured up close and personal in this library. In pristine high-quality recordings, these big, black cats growl, sniff, roar, groan, grunt, burp, breathe, hiss, and create many other sounds that should send survivalistic fears down your spin. This library is no foley attempt nor a synthetic reimagining—these sounds are impossibly close and real, as if the leopard came in for an ADR session in the Krotos Audio studios. If big cats are what you're looking for, you won't find a more appropriate library!
Need sounds of storms in an urban environment? 'City Thunderstorm' by Immersive FX contains a complete storm—from start to finish—captured in London, and the full recordings last over an hour. This library contains thunder as it builds, rumbles, claps, crackles, and booms, and the recordings also contain distant birds, traffic, and several intensities of rain on various surfaces—as well as tracks free of these background noises. If you are featuring a rolling storm in your city landscape, this is the library to listen to.
'Parrots' by Krotos Audio features the voice of the wild Polly. This library contains over a hundred calls, squawks, screams, squeaks, aggressions and more by these large tropical birds. The sounds are clear, individual, and recorded at 192 kHz, allowing each sound to be manipulated and stretched to fit your imagination. So for literal sounds of these psittaciformes, or to create a creature of your own, check out this library.
