New Sound Effects: Tense Interior Ambiences, Hellish Drones, Iconic Creaks And Squeaks - And Lots Of Bees

This week we have four new libraries that when put together create the soundtrack from Hell. We have disturbing drones that portend a nightmarish future, tense interior atmospheres that will engulf our subconscious minds, human agony personified through unsettling creaks and squeaks, and bee ambiences from both outside and inside their hive.

Syndrone

'Syndrone' by Glitchmachines, LLC is a massive library with over 240 minutes of menacing drones and atmospheres that can send chills down your spine. These complex, evolving soundscapes will spill over your audience and sweep them away into dark, eerie lands. However, while they are abstract, they are not void of personality nor distinction, making them great for paranormal, post-apocalyptic, haunted and sci-fi projects. Abstract Interior Tones

Interior ambiences can completely control the mood of a scene, and no one knows this better than Digital Rain Lab. Their new library 'Abstract Interior Tones' is a tense collection of interior ambiences that can fit the needs of sci-fi, horror, fantasy and documentary projects. These sounds bring a variety of textures to your soundscape with hollow buzzing, underwater simmering, high-voltage murmur, evolving walla, bell-like shimmer and much more. 'Unsettling Creaks and Squeaks - Extension 1' is a collection of 345 files that creak, squeak, squeal, creep, shriek, scrape, crunch, rub, and all the synonyms in between. These sounds are up front and iconic, coming from basement, cupboard and metal doors, balloons, train wheels, folding beds, leather gloves, ropes, rubber sponges and soles, wicker baskets, and much more. For sounds that are full of human characteristics like agitation, pain and pressure, this is a library you need to hear.

Beehive

Insect Sound Effects Beehive Play Track 14+ sounds included, 44 mins total $24

Get the sound of honey bees – inside and outside their hive – with this 96kHz and 24bit Beehive sound library.

All files were recorded outside the town, far away from the roads to capture the clean sound of the hardworking bees.

I had a chance to record those insects before the feeding time, so they were hungry and really active.

My main goal was to capture different sounds, not only the ambiences but also some close ones, like the sound of the bees landing on their landing zone or just the interior sound of the hive.

14 stereo files were recorded with Sound Devices 702, Sony PCM-M10 recorder, two DPA 4061 microphones hidden inside a hive and two Sennheiser MKH 8040 to capture the ambience in front of the hive.

Every stereo AB interior recording can be split to mono to isolate the single buzzes, and the library features a total of 44 minutes of bee sound recordings.

Bees are not only one of the most admired and feared insects, they also have one of the most recognizable sounds—and Dawid Moroz from Soundholder had the guts (and assumed lack of allergies) to capture them. 'Beehive' contains over 40 minutes of these hard-working arthropods from both inside and outside their hive at various perspectives and distances. The sounds were captured with four different microphones, including the beloved Sound Devices 702 and the Sennheiser MKH 8040. There's no beating around the bush on this one—if you need bee sounds, this is the library for you!
