In this highlight of great new independent sound effects, we have nine new libraries that could not be more varied! We have sounds of electricity from amps and power tools, a collection of classic radio jingles and DJ drops, sounds from a Bulgarian harbor, ambiences from a holy site in Jerusalem, tense cinematic elements, sounds of rummaging through various items, dark hi-tech Kontakt libraries, peaceful waves along cliffs and shores, and hooting and hollering cowboys. Happy listening!
'Rummage' is a collaborative library by the sound designers of SoundBits and Glitchedtones, featuring the rustling sounds you hear when you’re looking for something and just can’t find it. They recorded rummaging through paper, pockets, trash, wallets, retro media, wood, tools, bags, wardrobes, metal, and more, at various levels of "where is it?!". Is your character frantically looking for a specific document? Or perhaps she’s looking through old cassette tapes? With over 730 sounds, you’ll have plenty to choose from!
'TORSION' by SampleTraxx is an abstract library with dark, hi-tech sounds that will add aggressive distortion and arpeggiated tones to your project. This library is packed with cinematic sounds, tempo-locked synths, stuttering stingers, tonal feedback, signature braams, low whooshes, crescendos, and reverses, as well as 86 Kontakt instruments with low-pass/hi-pass filters, delays, ADSR envelopes, reverbs, stack voicing control, and more. Phew! For a highly flexible tool that will give you the exact sound you want, check this out.
'Electrify' by Pure Audio Ninja has sounds that will cover your electricity needs. Recorded from hard drives, motors, sockets, power tools, interfaces, amplifiers, printers, and scanners, you get a wide variety of beeps, glitches, hums, fuzz, noises, processing, crackling, and more. And with almost 300 sounds and nearly an hour and a half of content, you'll be able to give your ambiences, as well as your electrical systems, some life.
'Radio Imaging SFX' by SoundFxWizard has 50 FM-ready sounds with all the transitions, drops, and jingles you need for your next show. It includes radio jingles, station IDs, liners, DJ drops, and more, giving you the oscillating, high-energy sound effects you need to get your audience’s attention or notify them of a new segment. These sounds are of course royalty free, so for effects that can be used time and time again, check out this library.
'Dock Ambiences And SFX' by West Wolf takes you back to Bulgaria, this time to the Varna port. With over 20 minutes of ambiences, you’ll hear sounds of large cranes as they load cargo ships, rumbling vehicles as they pass by, the clanks and creaks of massive tools, and much more. These industrial ambiences were also carefully recorded to be near the action without being too distracting. For immersive soundscapes perfect for any scene along the harbor, this is the one you want.
'Affix' by MatiasMacSD has over 100 sounds that will give your soundscape a dramatic, cinematic feel. It has various types of movements, braams, and tense drops that will give your trailers, films, and games those emotional, in-your-face impacts and thick atmospheres. With sudden stops, rips, shreds, metal overtones, and more, whether you’re creating a tense sci-fi horror film or you need subtle pulses to add tension, you’ll find what you need here.
'Cowboy Voices' by Fusehive is a collection of 160 words, phrases, and shouts that might have a whiff of whiskey and tobacco to them. These American Western-inspired expressions range from a polite "Much obliged, Miss," to a more threatening "Don't take too kindly to strangers," and plus you get lots of over-the-top "yeehaws," "hyaahs," and some "sooooies." Whether your rowdy characters prefer to ride into the sunset or drink till dawn, this library should get you started.
'The Black Sea' by SKYES-Audio takes you to a quiet place on the edge of the continent. In this library you'll hear over a half hour of waves as they lap up the shore, pound against rocks, roll in the distance, and crash along cliffs. Without the distractions of birds, ships, or tourists, these sounds can be instantly dropped into your soundscape with careful metadata to help you find what you need quickly. And the price makes it an easy decision! For lush, varying waves, give this one a listen.
'Ambisonic – Western Wall' by Sen6 was recorded near the sacred Western Wall in Jerusalem. In this library, you'll hear prayers in multiple languages as people express their faith in Judaism and Islam. These devotions are captured in the Ambisonic format, giving you 24 minutes of spiritual ambiences for your 3D audio experiences. Plus, you can download a demo to try it out with SurroundZone2 in your own DAW! For a collection of ambiences from the heart of Jerusalem, check this one out.
