It’s been blazing hot in Copenhagen these past few weeks, and while others have taken off on holiday, I’ve been keeping busy in the (thankfully, well-ventilated) studio, composing – and implementing lots of small tweaks and improvements to A Sound Effect. Here are some of the updates:
Added a Filter By Price option to the shop page: Looking for sound libraries within a certain price range? You can now filter the shop items by price, using the new slider widget.
Added shortcuts around the site for viewing the latest libraries: It’s now easier to get an overview of the latest SFX libraries, thanks to the shortcuts added to the ‘New Sound Libraries’ listings around the site.
Added subcategories to Vehicles: I’m experimenting with using sub-categories for some areas. For something like Vehicles it’s pretty straight-forward – but for other categories, it may be less useful and add clutter. Thoughts?
Made content discovery easier: Related content is now listed at the end of each blog post – making it easier for you to discover useful stuff you may have otherwise missed.
Updated the mobile menu: The mobile menu has been replaced, making things a lot smoother for tablet and mobile users.
Additional tweaks: Long titles or a large number of categories no longer break the shop layout • Image optimizations around the site for quality and loading improvements • The Sound Library Highlights slider no longer breaks on mobiles • Updated a lot of back-end stuff.
Hope you enjoy the improvements! If you have any comments to them, or if there are any changes or fixes you’d like to see to the site – drop me a note here, or leave a comment below.
