Destruction Zone library brings 1570+ HQ audio material, centered around debris and destruction sound effects. We spent great lengths of time recording on-site, in metal scrap yards and quarry mines, construction sites, and a tank graveyard, and we had fun popping balloons, dropping firecrackers into canyons, and sending barrels rolling downhill.
In the studio, we recorded a wide range of materials, covering everything from dust and gravel drops to glass breaks and porcelain smashes and we even recreated volcanic rockslides using authentic rock pieces from Etna volcano (Italy).
The highlights of our Destruction Zone library include high car drops using cranes and clarks, car window breaks using sledgehammers (what a stress relief 🙂 ), the reverberated pops of balloons and firecrackers in one of our beautiful local canyons, sounds of an old corroded metal barrel being thrown downhill and “meticulously vandalized” in order to capture larger than life rolling textures, metal impact, and loud squeaks.
In addition to those raw material-based sounds, we included a number of designed sounds of low-frequency impacts, rumble drones, and different types of ground movements and disaster scenarios, such as rockfalls, mud and lava flows, landslides, earthquakes, avalanches, building collapses, car crashes, and explosions – all you need to design the Second Coming and beyond…
Our motivation behind this collection is to offer opportunities for:
Creating your own mixture of debris sounds
Using our pre-designed mixes unaltered to create the ambiance of weather phenomena, natural disasters, or structural failures and collapses.
This SFX library contains a wide range of reactions and emotional responses varying from quiet crowds to roared battle cries to a large selection of exclamations generated by a group of passionate theatrical actors in indoor venues.
Apart from the vocalizations, we’ve also included recordings of more unusual crowd ambiances like people walking around the mics, falling down, sitting down and getting up, jumping around, marching, or just being present in the space.
Crowds library is split into the following two parts:
Small Groups: Includes small groups of up to 30 people which you can layer together and quickly create the sound of any sized realistic groups of people.
Large Crowds: Brings pre-designed, easy-to-use sounds of medium to large crowds in various types of reactions, moods, and surroundings.
Our Auto Repair (248 HQ – 96kHz/24bit) library includes both tools and general ambiences of auto repair shops as well as home garage sounds. Hit play, close your eyes and you will find yourself amidst cars, toolboxes, revving engines, mechanisms, servo sounds, metal clunks, and car mechanics in action.
In this library, you will find audio samples of wrenches and ratchets being dropped on various surfaces and with various intensities, different kinds of metal clunk and mechanical motions, as well as audio of mechanics operating hydraulic machines and servomotors, handling screwdrivers, welding and hammering chassis, handling screwdrivers/ pneumatic pistols and sawing/scraping metal auto parts. All captured in real garages and auto repair shops.
In addition to the sounds mentioned above, we have included a variety of clean, studio recordings of hand tools and metal parts that can be used as starting points for further sound design. We had cars and bikes brought in, which we used to record a series of engine startups/shutdowns, idling, and revs which might serve as starters for creating multilayered, compelling atmospheres.
The Construction Zone library consists of 260 HQ recordings of a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and construction workers engaged in raucous activities such as driving around, digging holes, flattening surfaces and more, that will satisfy your appetite for… construction!

Vintage Telephones SFX library contains 244 sounds extracted from 10 vintage, rotary dial devices manufactured between the 1880s and 1980s. There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
