Vehicle sound effects and recordings – cars, helicopters, motorcycles, airplanes, ships, trains and sci-fi
Meet this small amphibious hovercraft, which is beloved by locals in a archipelago. It has one engine to make it hoover and one to make it go forward.
The recordings consist of a 7 minute 41 second session from six onboard channels near the main exhaust, main engine, two front engine, hull front, and the propeller. The library also contains several startups, idle, stops, revving at constant RPMs standing still, and lots of driving at different speeds on both water and land. These are the sounds of pure fun!
The Smart Fortwo is a unique everyday car. Under the hood, or rather under the trunk (it’s a rear mounted engine) this hatchback sports a tiny 41hp diesel engine. Normally covered for obvious reasons, we opened it up to expose the engine and get some super clean onboard recordings from inside the car.
Also, because the Fortwo has a quasi-manual transmission, we were able to perform the gear changes with dramatic sequences in mind. So they are more pronounced, adding some character that is sometimes lost in a fully automatic transmission.
Included are a full set of exterior and onboard (engine/tailpipe) recordings at varying speeds as well as all the doors and a couple dashboard chimes.
‘Smooth City Traffic’ by Badlands Sound includes 21 high-quality city traffic ambiences great for your projects. Hear the smooth sounds of traffic rushing through the city. This library was recorded by Sound Devices 702t with a pair of Line Audio CM3’s and a matched pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040’s in 96k / 24bit.
Feel the weight and the whooshing of the various vehicle passbys rushing through the city. You will also notice the unique qualities in each file like a car passing by with a flat tire, semi trucks, sports cars speeding by, as well as aggressive diesel trucks.

TESTIMONIALS & BUYERS COMMENTS
“I had a Tesla in a show and realized I had no Tesla library – This kit got the job done perfectly – Thanks Rick!
-Jonathan Lipman, MPSE
Sony Pictures: “The Good Doctor” network TV series
“Rick’s TESLA SFX library was a life-saver for us on Season 2 of HBO’s Divorce, especially since Tesla demands that ONLY authentic Tesla sounds be used whenever their vehicles appear in a scene! Rick’s FX gave us that authenticity. Very valuable resource. Thanks Rick!”
– David Briggs
Supervising Sound Editor, HBO “Divorce”
“Hey Rick! Awesome job on the Tesla library! Literally minutes after downloading, I cut one of the servos into a commercial I’m working on… I’m going to get a TON of mileage out of the wheel recordings. I feel like wheels are a really difficult sound to get a great recording of… All around great job!”

Echo Peak presents: Tesla Model S!
This Tesla Model S P85D was recorded on a closed track with a professional stunt driver. (It was not easy to make it skid…) Not only is this library useful for Tesla sounds, but for tire sounds on pavement as well. As all of our libraries, this has been tested and approved by Hollywood sound editors. Enjoy the sounds of Tesla Model S!

The Farm is a sound library that I compiled about a year ago just for fun and I kept adding sounds recorded at the same location in the Canadian countryside at 4 different farms. During the recording session, I’ve been lucky enough to have met some fantastic people ready to share their passion for farming and pointing me out to what they felt was an essential part of their everyday soundscape.
I had the chance to stumble on two late 50s John Deere tractors that where still functional and that marked the end of an era. It is a comprehensive farm sound library that is not just about tractors or animals.
You will find, in the bonus section, 6 different footsteps surfaces each with a walk and run variation and some more. There are five main categories in this library: Ambiances, Animals, Footsteps, Misc (Various SFX) and Vehicles ready for creating a convincing farm soundscape for your project.
The GUNS series gets you the sounds of up to 19 weapons, captured at 24 bit, 192 kHz. Sounds are not metatagged but arranged, indexed and easy to find in order for you to have an easier workflow. Full sound lists are available below. The library is available in 3 installments + a bundle that gets you everything at a special price.

Get the sounds of the the Honda VTX 1300 – a distinctive cruiser motorcycle.
Its 1300cc displacement is right in the sweet spot between the zippier 750 models and the massive 1800 road warriors. This particular one was equipped with a set of custom Vance and Hines Big Shots exhaust pipes early in its life, giving it a distinctive and throaty note that can be heard up and down the highway. The VTX line is also known for its distinctive transmission, which gives a meaty ‘clunk’ with every shift.
This library is a set of recordings that were made using a combination of onboard and exterior mics at a variety of useful speeds, as well as free running on the highway. Its a smaller set, but very distinctive and useful.
We recorded multiple channels on every movement:
• Onboards consisted of Line audio CM3, Crown PZM and Sanken COS11 mics
• A handheld MKH416 rig covered bys and exteriors
After a half day of recording we had material ranging from idles and slow starts to fast bys and highway runs.
Need the sound of a lawn mower? Here’s an entire sound effect library dedicated to just that!
The Lawn Mower SFX library features sounds recorded from different perspectives while using the lawn mower + on-board recordings of the engine and lawn cutting sounds. It also comes with the sound of an electrical lawn mower, as well as sound of a mower being moved/dragged with the engine turned off. Recorded with a Sound Devices 702 and 2 Oktava’s MK012 set in MS and XY mode in 96kHz and 24bit. Every WAV file was tagged in ProTools 11 for quick and easy access.
Perfect for when you’re looking for that lawn mower sound – or for more creative sound design uses.
The Lawnmower Library has just been updated with 44 new recordings – two additional lawnmowers: A Standard and an electrical lawnmower, for a total of 2.29 GB, 41+ minutes of extra content
Recorded over the course of two months this sound library features an extensive amount of Dutch ambiences including locations such as train stations, parks, cafes, streets and forests.
All atmospheres run for approximately 5 minutes and were recorded at 24 bit/96khz using the DPA 5100 and Sound Devices 788T. This library is available in stereo or 5.0.
The Porsche 911 GT3 is not a typical race car.
With engine, transmission, air intake and exhaust all situated in the rear of the vehicle under a large wing, this pure driving machine has sonic characteristics very different from many familiar racing vehicles. Its exhaust note is deep and throaty and the transmission is snappy at speed.
The Porsche 911 GT3 library is a series of recordings that were made on a track just outside of Houston on media day for the Effort race team. These are 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Rs that race on the Pirelli World Challenge series. Each car has a naturally aspirated, water cooled, four valve 4.0 liter flat six cylinder Porsche engine. These cars create 500 horse power from the factory and race with E10 fuel. The transmission is a Porsche six gear racing box with sequential shift mechanism.
With full access to the vehicles and the track, we recorded up to 13 channels on every movement.
• Onboards including Sanken CUB01, Crown PZM and Sanken COS11 mics
• Interiors captured with a Sure VP-88
• An ORTF array of Line Audio CM3s at pit row
• An array of MKH60s and a Shoeps MS rig at another straightaway on a balcony
• An ORTF array of Line Audio CM3s at a long slow turn
• A roving handheld MKH70 rig
After a full day of recording we had material ranging from idles and slow starts to whip bys and burnouts. We also got a wide variety of foley and ambient recordings that happened organically throughout the day.
Streets and stop signs, freeways and highways, and yes, even a roundabout! This is a massive library featuring traffic ambiences that range from quiet suburb avenues, to downtown rush-hour. Not just urban environments, we also “hit the road” and drove north to sleepy desert towns, and single lane canyons. There's a ton of variety here!
Recorded with the stunning Sennheiser Ambeo microphone, each ambience is delivered in both AmbiX and FuMa formats, as well as Stereo, 5.1, and 7.1.
What’s more- a 360 video reference is provided to offer a fully immersive image of the sound effect being captured!
This warfare SFX library was recorded during a three-day military exercise, using several Combat Vehicle 90s performing live firing exercises with 40mm cannons and 7.62 machine guns. The recording consists of several multichannel setups from various distances, perspectives and environments such as forest and huge fields.
The library contains huge tails in different environments, shooting at close and far distances with various occlusion, onboard firing, sonic booms, ricochets, bullet cracks, projectile tails and much more. It also has some onboard and exterior vehicle movements and maneuvers. For sounds of military operations, you can't go wrong with this collection.

The Toyota Chaser JSX90 and its professional driver have been tracked from a myriad of angles and distances, both external and onboard, from the moment the doors close and a seatbelt fastens, right down the gamut of revs, take-offs, turns, passes-by, skids, pedal slams, handbraking, gearshifting, and panel buttoning galore with all the corresponding actions as the 2.5 litre turbo engine peels away fast, drives slow, or just cruises mid-speed. In short: Everything you’ll need, all the maneuvers manifested by 280 horsepower car, here in this suite.
Our ’99 model Toyota Chaser is captured with orchestra-grade studio equipment and field kit, by professionals, for professionals, ready to be used as authentic sound, ready to be arranged into seamless edits and proper 5.1 post-production. The 96kHz/24bit synced and multi-channel recordings have comprehensive metadata tags giving full position, microphone, and action detail. This catalogue constitutes the canon of sound for a mid-sized car, capable of speed. The suite is parked here, ready to give you the exact audio you need.
This 2005 Toyota Highlander is a mid-size crossover SUV with a 3.3L, V6, 225 hp engine. With a full range of speeds and performances, onboard and exterior, this collection provides the material needed for edgy car chases down to suburban trips to the grocery store. Another solid everyday car to add to your library.

Need tractor sounds? This Tractor Case II CX90 sound library features 34 files (including RAW) of engine, recorded onboard and from exterior perspectives. Two microphones were taped under the hood to capture the engine sound during regular driving, slow and fast accelerations, turning on/off and idle. Exterior passes were captured in mono and stereo. You will find slow and fast passes, braking and driving to the microphones and driving away. In addition there is one recording from the cabin during driving.
This library delivers sounds of a vintage tractor that was manufactured in the communist part of Germany right after WWII.
The featured model is a Famulus RS1436L from 1956. It has an air-cooled 2-cylinder diesel engine that generates 36 horsepower from 3.3l displacement. Due to the low operating speed of only 1600 rpm some of these engines are still running today.
For this particular library the Famulus was recorded from 7 onboard mics attached around engine, frame, rear wheels and exhaust. The Tractor performs cold start (with the second cylinder delaying), various manoeuvres at the yard as well as uphill and downhill drives along a hilly dirt road.
The library is completed by various exterior stereo takes that encompass idles, aways, approaches, pass-bys along windy farmland plus takes from the drivers perspective.

A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
