The library contains several complete boot sequences of 10 different laptop and desktop computers ranging from an old ATARI PC-2, going over to Pentium I and III, Celerons and Core Duo machines.
Each booting sequence was recorded from different positions within the computer casings.
Additionally, all included components are available as separate takes so that each computer is entirely featured with its hard disks, power- and CPU fans plus all those other strange noises that occurred. As bonus, 25 extra sounds from external hard disks and blowers of all kind are included in this library.
The Construction Zone library consists of 260 HQ recordings of a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and construction workers engaged in raucous activities such as driving around, digging holes, flattening surfaces and more, that will satisfy your appetite for… construction!

Industrial, heart-stopping and threatening loops featuring evacuation alarms, hazard alerts, big heart-stopping whams, military threat sirens, security breach warnings, emergency calls, and distress signals. Each piece of sound design features five different variations (A, B, C, D, and E) each with its own unique flavor and stylistic approach which allows the user to cover a wider range of professional work by adapting his/her favorite samples to the needs of a particular project.
Vintage, cinematic, mechanical trailer loops featuring evil ticking clocks, dramatic timing clicks, suspenseful bomb ticks, intense chronometers, mysterious clockworks, old timepieces, scary watch timers, and very dark and creepy alarm clocks. This original library is from the personal collection of trailer music composer Federico Soler Fernández (“Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” – “Middle Earth: Shadow of War The Mobile Game” – “Halloween (2018)” – “The Predator (2018)”.
We came across an old Sanyo Cash register which was still working – so we went all-in and recorded it. We used two Sennheiser MKH8040 and a DPA 4060 to get a variety of buttons, switches, and printing noises. They all cover different and unique perspectives.
No gas? No problem! This little 192 kHz library of raw electric power gives you everything you need for basic electric lawn mower sounds from moving the mower, mowing grass and debris, different angles of isolated motor sounds without mowing, mowing from close perspective and from a distance, and bagging up freshly mowed grass.
Get creative by using these sounds for other things besides mowing: The 192 kHz sample rate lets you play with octaves so you can turn this little mower into so much more – enjoy Electric Lawn Mower!
Electric Motors is a collection of 148 recordings of small and large motors performing various activities, including rotations, general movement, pulses, speed changes and more.
All sounds recorded and edited at 24-bit / 96kHz, with embedded meta data and accompanying spreadsheet.
When you need Electric Typewriters Sounds, this composite SFX collection of 4 and half (yes half, one machine was broken) (old) electric typewriters delivers. You will find sounds ranging from opening/closing covers, pressing keys, random typing, electric motor movements of the writing head, mechanic-hammering of the letters, small mechanical levers and more.
Of course the sounds can be used for interfaces (and, well, electric typewriters!) – but they could also easily be mangled and mutilated for some great robotic and futuristic stuff. Try it yourself. All sounds were recorded with a Sennheiser MKH8050 through a UA Apollo 8 and a RODE NTG-3 through a Sound Devices 744T. All sounds are royalty free.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
