Geophonic Design Vol. 2 features a diverse collection of compelling designed sounds, which includes infrasonic frequencies all the way down to 10Hz. This library has a strong sci-fi & horror vibe and gives you a wide and varied palette of unique sounds that are perfect for injecting a little mystery and darkness into your film, video game or documentary project.
To create the sounds in this library, Our Audio Craftsmen used a ‘Geophone’ which is a seismic measurement device used to record seismic waves and vibrations of the earth. Using the Geophone, we recorded low vibrations and rumbles of various surfaces and locations. You can expect to find a wide selection of seismic ambiences, as well as an assortment of thunderous subsonic hits, blistering whooshes and electrifying glitch effects.
All of the included sounds were then precisely edited and designed by our dedicated in house team to build ambiences such as underground sewers, a labyrinth of metal pipes, nuclear wastelands, research bases, and other abstract ambiences. In addition, all the files are available in 24Bit 96kHz and extensively tagged with metadata and are UCS compliant to integrate seamlessly with your workflow.
The sounds will also make a great addition to your library as layered textures, to build a mysterious atmosphere in your projects, and will be perfect as drones and ambiences for futuristic, sci-fi and horror scenes.
Metal friction recordings shine when using a rosined cello bow on a thin sheet of metal or a drum cymbal. KLAP Sound took a piano and tortured it, dismembered it and finally destroyed it—and recorded the whole process. For the making of this library, they used several tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, knives, and saws, as well as props like dirt, send, gravel, forks and other sharp objects. This collection contains a wide variety of buttons and switches. We pushed, flicked, turned and twisted all the buttons, knobs and switches we could find to make sure you have everything for your sound design needs. To give you as many options as possible, we recorded everything at a high sample rate with several microphones. Every sound was recorded with at least a contact microphone, a large diaphragm microphone and a small diaphragm microphone. In addition, most of the sounds were recorded with two small diaphragm microphones with different pickup patterns (omni and cardioid).
The high sample rate and multiple microphone setup makes this collection excellent for sound design and heavy processing. We have also included all sounds in 96 kHz and 48 kHz in case 196 kHz is not required for your projects.

This time we have combined all the algorithms and processing techniques used in our previous IR-based products including FM, AM, time stretching, pitch-shifting, spectral-synthesis and multi-faceted manipulations, then added rhythmic elements, which result in tape echo-like sounds or metallic-comb textures.
All of these new impulses were optimized with a slightly soft-warm feel which perfectly fits the mix. It’s an entire world of brand new processing effects and possibilities which can be easily unraveled within any convolution engine, ready to be explored. We hope you enjoy the trip.

The combined recorded driving time is more than 40 minutes long.
The Onboard recordings are in 2 separate mono wave files, channel one for engine and channel two for exhaust. There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
