Developed in exclusive collaboration with Academy Award®-winners Mark Mangini & Richard L. Anderson, The Odyssey Collection: Foley Effects provides clean, natural recordings of everyday actions for seamless integration into your projects.
With a huge variety of props, surfaces, and variations of each sound, this go-to Foley sound library has you covered. Craft your scenes with common Foley recordings like footsteps, cloth rustle, and body grabs – as well as practical and peculiar objects like chair slides, glasses, coins, plastic, aerosol spray, butterfly wing flaps, and much more.
What is Foley? Foley is technically the act of recording sound effects performed in-sync to picture, using various props and surfaces, often on a Foley stage. In this case, these Foley-like sounds were recorded by Mangini and Anderson to fill out temp mixes of feature film projects before the traditional Foley process – with a focus on discrete actions within natural sonic environments.
“Much of what constitutes this library are wild sounds that Richard and I recorded because we didn’t have Foley yet. We would usually perform our ‘pre-Foley’ sound effects in acoustic spaces like rooms, halls, or wherever would make them sound most natural and useful in perpetuity across different projects.” – Mark Mangini (Blade Runner 2049, Mad Max: Fury Road)

The Porsche 911 GT3 is not a typical race car.
With engine, transmission, air intake and exhaust all situated in the rear of the vehicle under a large wing, this pure driving machine has sonic characteristics very different from many familiar racing vehicles. Its exhaust note is deep and throaty and the transmission is snappy at speed.
The Porsche 911 GT3 library is a series of recordings that were made on a track just outside of Houston on media day for the Effort race team. These are 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Rs that race on the Pirelli World Challenge series. Each car has a naturally aspirated, water cooled, four valve 4.0 liter flat six cylinder Porsche engine. These cars create 500 horse power from the factory and race with E10 fuel. The transmission is a Porsche six gear racing box with sequential shift mechanism.
With full access to the vehicles and the track, we recorded up to 13 channels on every movement.
• Onboards including Sanken CUB01, Crown PZM and Sanken COS11 mics
• Interiors captured with a Sure VP-88

• An ORTF array of Line Audio CM3s at a long slow turn
• A roving handheld MKH70 rig
After a full day of recording we had material ranging from idles and slow starts to whip bys and burnouts. We also got a wide variety of foley and ambient recordings that happened organically throughout the day.
Get the sounds of a real, modern-day hospital – the equipment as well as various locations. These are recordings that are not easy to access and took a lot of negotiation to capture.

This sound effects library of latches, locks, switches, clips, slides, clasps, gears, bolts, and ratchets is a mechanical sonic powerhouse, offering the functional and mechanical sounds of a plethora of quirky contraptions that latch or lock together in some manner or another. Embellish a simple hand tool or build utterly complex mechanizations.
Some source materials were discovered in old railway yards, others were random findings in an antique mall, while others still were dislodged components of even larger, more complex machines. Like little sonic building blocks, the sounds herein are primarily reduced to their smallest meaningful components, giving you the quick, accessible freedom to drop/move/stack them for fast production. As with many of our libraries, we focused on providing sets of similar sounds so that you can create sequences and randomized groups for an event on the fly without having to commit extra editing time.
We’ve also included 26 of our own designs to get your creative machine turning!

Various handpicked and carefully recorded essential and familiar ice sounds. Recorded ice cubes and ice blocks of different sizes to make crackling, breaking, twisting, sizzling, swirling, chipping, smashing, and shaking sounds.
Several types of tools were used to chip and break the ice objects such as kitchen knives, hammers, rubber mallets, and ice picks. A hot iron was used to melt ice blocks, ice cubes were stepped on to make crushing and walking sounds, ice cubes in glass and plastic cups combined with water, plastic ice trays of freshly frozen ice that was twisted, turned, and recorded different ways.
These are just handful of examples of the many familiar sounds of ice that are included in this sound library.
Need high-quality volcanic audio from a film featured by National Geographic? You can hear it pop and snap, and occasionally rocks forming, shearing, and breaking apart. Thankfully – I didn’t melt the recorder!
A collection of ambiances and street sounds recorded in ukraine between 2015-2018. With these recordings I tried to grasp the unique character of Ukraine. The distinct traffic sounds, the wonderful nature and the lively language.
You will find recordings of airport and train station with p.a announcements, street sounds with Russian walla and voices, quiet residential ambiances, Ukrainian village ambiances, supermarkets and markets, schoolyard, school corridor, parade, street traffic, trains, conversations in Russian, prayers, street player talking, pedestrian areas, and more.
• In Pacific Northwest: Roosevelt Elk, get a mini-nature collection of ambiences from the Hoh Rainforest, a temperate rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula in Olympic National Park. Hear Roosevelt Elk clack antlers and bugle as they fight for the chance to mate. Hear Pacific Wrens joyous chirps as they dance on rotten logs. Hear the massive sparseness of forests filled with 200-300 foot douglas fir and spruce. Hear haunting reverberations as ravens caw in groves of titans and the Hoh River’s soothing wash, the perfect sound to lull you off to peaceful dreams.
• This library offers you a small collection of both quiet and active nature sounds from one of the wettest forests in North America. Some places on the Olympic Peninsula get over 200 inches of precipitation per year, and that abundance of moisture makes for a magical fern and moss filled ecosystem brimming with soothing ambiences.

Hear blustery blasts whipping through mountain valleys and scrappy desert foliage rustling frantically. Hear dancing grasses strike fretboard strings, pinging rich melodies with each swaying stalk.
• To record this library an acoustic guitar was transformed into an aeolian harp. I hope this library gives you a chance to hear the wind in a way you haven’t heard it before. Enjoy listening to the natural music of the wind as it sings on long thin wires

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
