This is our home. Our sounds from the country we live in. Hear the cold winter winds from the hills of Gothenburg, the city life of the student town of Uppsala and the untouched nature far from the highways and industries from the whole year.
We have collected the nature, cities, parks and rivers in a compact package. A library like this wouldn’t be complete without wallas where you can hear the Swedish language, in a café, shopping mall and train station.
This comes down to over 220 minutes in 7.2 GB. Everything is recorded on a Sound Devices 633 with Neumann KM184 and Sennheiser MKH50 in Stereo (96 kHz, 24 Bit).
Need high-quality volcanic audio from a film featured by National Geographic? You can hear it pop and snap, and occasionally rocks forming, shearing, and breaking apart. Thankfully – I didn’t melt the recorder!
Anybody familiar with travelling on the London Underground will be aware of the distinct soundscapes beneath the streets of London; from the clatter of the ticket hall barriers to the eerie rumbles from the tunnels, waiting in anticipation for the next train to come rushing past before stopping with the squeal of the brakes.
Each type of train on the network has its own distinct characteristics such as the moaning of the electric traction motors or the peculiar sound of the 1996 Stock used on the Jubilee Line.
All of these sounds have been beautifully captured in 24-bit 48KHz quality- recorded both with XY stereo microphones and binaurally- creating a highly realistic experience for headphone users.
This sound collection combines the best of England and both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. After travelling extensively throughout the region we now provide you with a range of useful, high-quality sounds.

Like many of you, we found ourselves overwhelmed with the sheer volume of different wind SFX libraries out there, yet somehow always a bit underwhelmed. At Silverplatter Audio we set out to change that. We wanted to create the ultimate wind library that we would actually want to use ourselves, and hopefully you’ll feel the same way!
To accomplish this, we built a custom Jenklin Disc to create separation between our microphones, similar to how our head separates our ears. We then placed this specially designed Jenklin Disc inside a slightly modified Rode Blimp. The result was an incredibly natural-sounding wind recording that captured the true essence of the environment.
The versatility of these wind sound effects is truly remarkable. This pack offers a wide range of recordings, capturing everything from gentle breezes to powerful storms. It’s perfect for recreating the immersive atmosphere of a raging tempest or simply adding a subtle touch of tranquility with a gentle gust of wind.
Recorded at an active power station, a physics laboratory, a three-story steam pump and various industrial complexes, these giant pipes produce unusual sounds as gasses and liquids are pushed through them at extremely high pressures. From classic metallic pads and strange harmonic textures, to squeaking, rattling, clanking, breathing and the juddering of machinery vibrating through them.
Recorded at 96kHz/24bit with 2 contact mics going into a Sound Devices 788T, they provide a unique palette useful for both real, and other-worldly applications. From industrial vents and factories to sci-fi alien cargo ships.
There is also a section of details/sweeteners to add spice and punctuation. All files are meta-tagged.

Useful Sound Effects releases Earthquakes, a library that contains both stereo and binaural earthquake sound effects. Sounds range from complete mixes that maintain original dynamics, indoor sensations, exterior and underwater settings. Two folders have been added with assets to create or modify your own sounds with rattling metals, shaking objects, falling debris, low rumbles…
Having felt and heard earthquakes, I wanted the sounds to translate this feeling of awkward “calmness”. The seismic effects are often delicate, but nevertheless unexpected.
These are not the Hollywood-style overwhelming crushing sounds but the more mystical, delicate sounds of the earth trembling, shifting tectonic plates, seismic movements, tremors that come from deep inside our planet and that are heard from the exterior or our interior, like houses, office, urbex-type sites.
UCS compliant files with 225 sounds that can be easily edited to fit image or story.
Room tones and ambiences, various objects, buildings and facilities, various room sizes. Check the sound list for more info.
Recorded with Sennheiser mics MKH series, Sound Devices Recorder/mixer, LOM Usi , etc.
Metadata tagged with description (room size etc.) and equipment list included.
Aimed at complementing Ambisonics – Roomtones, this library compiles additional content for intimate VR experiences. This volume focuses on busier soundscapes, including the heavy hum from a fridge in a kitchen facing a street with sporadic vehicles and conversations, quiet living room takes with distant voices and a dog snoring, persistent machine sound from a pump, porch recordings on a rainy night and a busy morning with varied traffic passing-by.
These audio files are perfect for both quiet and languid roomtone soundscapes, conveying multiple moods for any desired VR experience.
This sound library is available in both Ambisonics FuMa (B Format) and Stereo (Binaural) formats.
Sixty five tracks of passing traffic: cars, vans and trucks, slow and fast, single passes, groups, a few from a small racetrack, dry roads, damp roads, lonely roads and crowded roads and one manic traffic jam from Manhattan’s Chintatown that’s worth the price of admission on its own. Locations include London, Dublin, Arnhem and New York.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
