Home Sound Effects Earthquakes
$40
Useful Sound Effects releases Earthquakes, a library that contains both stereo and binaural earthquake sound effects. Sounds range from complete mixes that maintain original dynamics, indoor sensations, exterior and underwater settings. Two folders have been added with assets to create or modify your own sounds with rattling metals, shaking objects, falling debris, low rumbles…
Having felt and heard earthquakes, I wanted the sounds to translate this feeling of awkward “calmness”. The seismic effects are often delicate, but nevertheless unexpected.
These are not the Hollywood-style overwhelming crushing sounds but the more mystical, delicate sounds of the earth trembling, shifting tectonic plates, seismic movements, tremors that come from deep inside our planet and that are heard from the exterior or our interior, like houses, office, urbex-type sites.
UCS compliant files with 225 sounds that can be easily edited to fit image or story.
Useful Sound Effects focuses on the practical side of sound effects. That means that themes are oriented towards use in documentary, film, game or any other supplemental medium. This approach is a result of experiencing the need for sounds and the difficulty of finding adequate results that are up to expectations of users or clients.
There is a subjective but very interesting line between what you want to hear, what you expect to hear, and what you actually hear. Often sounds are illustrative for something that happens on a screen and the viewer needs to be guided by that sound. It is a psychological element that drives our senses and emotions. So indeed, sound can manipulate the viewer into a certain direction, chosen by the director.
So the focus is on the USE of sound, that is were the name came from USE > Useful Sound Effects.
The USE libraries are made with acoustic recordings, field recordings, synthesis, hybrid mixing, low noise omni microphones, silent cardioid microphones, contact microphones, ultrasound microphone (Sanken CO-100K), Zoom and Sound Devices recorders, a custom binaural head, edited and mixed in Reaper, including Native Instruments Komplete 12 ultimate, Izotope Ozone 9, RX etc.

A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
