Industrial sound effects and recordings – from factories, construction sites, docks and much more
Machine Hall delivers all the right sounds for designing sounds for robots, industrial environments and other machines.
This pack was recorded in a car building factory and therefore has a lot of industrial robots, air compressors, small rotors and motors, servos and general heavy industry ambiances. Perfect for creating robots, giant mechanical stuff with loads of moving gears and parts and little tinkering bots. Every machine is counted for, big and small!
Be it steampunk or modern sci-fi, this pack is sure to be a great fit for anything mechanical and robot-y!
All sounds included are meta data tagged(keywords+description) for use in soundminer/basehead etc.
Dumpster Truck (Skiploader) delivers the sounds of a DAF CF 75.310 mid-size truck that delivers open steel containers. They are mostly used to collect debris, junk or discarded furnishings. Once these containers filled up, the truck picks them up again to bring them to the suburban garbage dump.
The library delivers 103 files in 5 categories:
Container Handling, Driving Activities, Engine, Foley and Props, Underneath Truck
This includes sounds of container dumps, noises from load chains and their locking mechanisms as well as sound from the truck itself (interior, door slaps, air pressure system, wheel noises, 7.5l 310hp diesel engine, exhaust and much more).
This collection of Air Conditioners, Vents, and Ducts gives a collection of understated airs and room tones appropriate for most every day situations.
The Complete Collection contains 1582+ sound effects from every sound library that we have released so far. It features Sci-Fi, Fire, Ice, Mecha, Rocks, and Plastic sound effects and field recordings, including ambiences, drones, textures, swooshes / wooshes, impacts, glitches, sequences, and more. We had the chance to make the crossing of the North Atlantic Ocean on a cargo ship container (ATLANTIC STAR).
We boarded in the Antwerp industrial port in Belgium, sailed the English Channel, and then stopped at Liverpool’s industrial port.
Then we crossed the North Atlantic Ocean to reach Halifax, Canada. This trip took us 10 days, 10 days of sounds recording.
Through this trip, we were able to access places that normally are closed to the public: industrial ports, and a container ship.
-The completed sound bank (Stereo + Surround-Ambisonic) contains 154 files record in 24 bit / 96 kHz
Dock Ambiances and SFX is recorded in the industrial part of Varna port in Bulgaria. This small pack includes 16 high-quality sound effects and ambiances in 24 bit, 96/48 kHz – a total of more than 20 minutes. You will hear sounds of large cranes loading cargo ships, trucks passing by, or working in place, hits by massive iron tools, creaky elements and an old industrial barrier. You can use this pack as a background or sfx in movies, games or any other project that needs industrial atmospheres or sound effects. All files are Meta-tagged.
Want the sounds of Athens? The Athens Rooftop sound effects library delivers 9 long ambiences recorded from different perspectives, and at different times of day – from calm mornings to busy days and nights.
In order to capture Athens’ soundscape in all its nuances, very low-noise Neumann Microphones and Sound Devices Recorders were used to record long takes (between 8 and 21 minutes each) totaling to over 2 hours of audio.
The recording location was a two floor rooftop on a three storey building above a very small street with no nearby traffic that allowed recording the city with some distance from above: Traffic, restaurants, bars, construction work, birds – in some evening recordings we hear crickets in the distance, in some day recordings the AC of a neighbouring flat is running.
Most of the recordings can also be used to represent a general city ambience, while some takes include specific regional sounds like Greek walla, churches and cicadas characteristic for the Greek capital.
Around Bridges Volume 2 gets you sounds taken from the iron and steel construction elements of various bridges in Berlin. The entire library was recorded with a two-channel contact microphone setup and it features thrilling vibrations caused be passing cars, trucks, trams and metro trains.
The material in this library is a comprehensive resource for creating otherworldly ambiences, futuristic pass-bys or eerie atmospheres with a touch of rusty steel and iron.
Moscow, Russia in winter and spring time
Streets, covered with melting snow; people, hurrying with their business; street, cleaning from ice; whistling wet traffic; quiet and loud residential neighborhoods; children playing in the snow; windy parks; cold nights and, then, saving spring; water, dropping from the roofs; singing birds and babbling brooks.
How to convey these things without violating their nature?
One of the ways is a stealth binaural recording using miniature microphones DPA 4060. It gave the sense of naturalness and created a presence effect, that you wouldn’t find in any other library about Russia.

Introducing Docks, an authentic collection of industrial harbor sounds captured in Dunkerque, France. It features containers being loaded and unloaded, trucks, cranes, sirens, alarms, steam + huge pieces of metal creaking and scraping. You also get lots of loud impacts with nice reverb from the container ships.
Enjoy that industrial atmosphere! All Recordings are in Stereo AB ORTF.
Recorded at 4 different factories in Denmark.
Sounds range from plastic foundries, casting machines, and machinery alarms, to giant textile processing units, and medical equipment manufacturing, clean-rooms and robotics.
All very loud environments. All recordings are several minutes long.
Aeolus is a collection of gritty and eerie sound design elements performed entirely by intense winds. These recordings were made on custom-made wind harps, handmade props, barbed wire fences, telephone poles, and other found objects. It is utterly unlike a normal wind library.
This collection of layers and elements of howls, drones, moans, creaks, rattles, clatters, and clanks provides rich material for the creation of unsettling ambiences, eerie presences, spooky room tones, and textural sweeteners for realistic winds. Aeolus is filled with conveniently long takes of piano wire, power lines, barbed wire, and other found and prepared objects that rumble, chitter, chatter, resonate, and whistle, in both gusty and sustained winds. Its sounds are perfect for horror scenes, magical effects, straining force fields, steampunk ambiences, extreme weather, high desert dramatic tension, or rusty post-apocalyptic soundscapes.
This UCS-compliant sound library is not a pure field recording collection; it contains lengthy recordings that are both minimally processed and extremely time- and pitch-altered. Some recordings lasted overnight, then reduced to mere minutes, remapping sound events into unfamiliar cadences or into/out of human hearing range.
Aeolus includes over two hours of raw recordings and twenty additional minutes of designed sounds from the original recordings, ready to use in a project or to serve as a launchpad for further inspiration.
Urban Air is a collection of long duration / ready to use / surround urban backgrounds.
This is aXLsound’s first surround ambience library, it has been recorded across different cities with various microphones setup ( LCR ORTF / QUAD / 5.0 ) and then carefully collected and edited into 5.0 surround tracks.
You’ll find various moods and sonic characteristics including: downtown, suburban, industrial, small towns, quiet, loud and annoying traffic beds, wet city, side streets, parks, wide city squares, diffuse and distant urban elements, clean air tones or dirty gritty city noise …
The duration of the tracks varies between 02m 30s for the shortest and more than 08 minutes with the vast majority lasting around 04-05 minutes, so long scenes shouldn’t be a problem. Also, some sounds include markers highlighting (un)interesting sounds and events.
For more convenience, 2 versions are available for this library :
– C / LR / LsRs : the 5.0 sounds are delivered “splitted” in three separate files : ( 1 mono + 2 stereo files ) , this way you can easily use the stereo files if you don’t need surround.
– .C / .L / .R / Ls / .Rs : multiple mono files
This ambience pack contains 33 sounds / 99 files embedded with full and detailed metadata ( Soundminer, Basehead, iXML ).
Get the sounds of gas and water running through massive and tiny pipes, at three processing sites closed to the public.
This library delivers the sounds of a gas control station, a sewage plant and a waterworks. We recorded the hissing of gas, low drones of water rushing through massive pipes, and the sounds of various stages of sewage processing, recorded indoors and outdoors in multiple locations and rooms throughout the three facilities. The library includes close-up sound effects, indoor and outdoor ambiences, and features ambiences and stereo contact mic recordings of active gas and water pipes, capturing the various resonating pipes in isolation.
Total play time of all recordings is just under 2 hours.
Factory Tones by Badlands Sound features 17 two minute seamless loopable roomtones, making these a breeze to work with – perfect for your projects.
I was able to capture all these sounds with no one there so these are just factory room tones that are steady with very little movement or noises from the outside world. All sounds are available to hear in the products audio demo.
This sound library was recorded with professional gear including the Sound Devices 702t, Rycote ORTF, and a pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040’s creating high quality roomtones of 96k / 24 bit.
If you are looking for factory room tones or looking for bigger tones and beds to fill the scene then this library is for you. All files in this product have great file names and metadata.
Chain Ferry features the remarkable sounds of a 100 year old ferry with a specific drive system. The ferry pulls along a strong chain lying at the ground of the river to cross. This is achieved by a clever combination of 3 drive wheels that guide the chain and prevent it from dropping to the ground.
The Library contains several complete audio takes of the ferry in action – from departure to arrival. This encompasses engine start, engine idle, loading ramp noises and bangs plus a lot of chain rattling from various perspectives. The sounds are recorded aboard and from both sides of the river so that the entire scenery can be covered acoustically.
Huge hydraulic lift working hard.
metall impacts / clanks / servo motor / jammed / hydraulic burst
26 Tracks / 2ch / 5 mins / 96kHz 24Bit / Metadata
This album is a recording of a huge hydraulic lift in my garage that is made to lift 4 cars with up to 8 tons of weight. Recorded with an Olympus field recorder that has a omnidirectional polar pattern center mic for more bass. ;) Except for a little bit of editing and a little bit of leveling here an there the recordings are not processed.
16 designed surround atmospheres for empty urban spaces. Abandoned houses, disused warehouses, empty industrial plots – the people have left but the buildings remain.
These ambiences are mixed in quad format, full of occasional detail and rich surround tones, and perfect loops ready for videogame use. Whether you’re fleeing from zombies in a dystopian future or chasing a serial killer through his lair, these backgrounds will fill out the empty spaces.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
