Vehicle sound effects and recordings – cars, helicopters, motorcycles, airplanes, ships, trains and sci-fi
Race Track Corner sound library features recordings of 21 cars, approaching tight corner, then hitting that apex and getting out to straight line. Different cars, from regular daily driven ones, to fully modified rally cars. Recorded in mono, stereo and with additional stereo perspective, from the ground in the middle of the apex. It’s 65 files, more than 2GB of audio with total length of 96 minutes.
Junkyard Car Smashed. Windows, doors, lights dash, great tearing of safety glass. Maybe should have ended up in gore, sweet and gross. Good glass shatter explosion.
I purchased a car in a junkyard and we went to town smashing it up. There are metal hits and glass hits as well. There are some great safety glass explosions as well as glass debris flying around inside the car. I smashed a bunch of the engine with a sledge hammer as well as dragging metal over engine parts. One of the best sounds is grinding and tearing the windshield. As safety glass is often covered with a thin film of plastic, it made the best sharp crackly flesh peeling sound ever. Perfect for adding destruction details.
Dacia Sandero II 1.0 SCe sound library features 65 high-quality files recorded with multi-mic setup. Engine was recorded in sync with interior cabin ambient, and you can expect different styles of driving. From casual city driving, through accelerations on a highway up to rpm ramps and constant rpm loops for game audio. In addition to designed sounds, you’ll find raw recordings for each perspective (engine, air intake, exhaust).Â
All files are recorded 24bit, 96 kHz, with Rode NTG1 and Shure VP88 microphones. Library contains wav files of driving, interior and exterior foley, mechanical and electrical sounds.

Kicking off our brand-new series “Noisy Places”, TRANSPORTATION is a comprehensive ambient collection with a broad spectrum of crystal-clear vehicle recordings.
Background Vehicle Recordings
All recordings – often loopable – have been either performed from a distance or exhibit enough subtlety, atmosphere and unobtrusiveness to be perfectly suited for all kinds of background settings and applications, giving them a serene, almost naturalistic feel.
Authentic Ambience Toolkit
Build your acoustic backdrop that sounds organic and grounded while keeping the familiar human touch and making the listener more aware of their acoustic surroundings. While a good soundtrack can help in introducing a world to the audience, a believable acoustic setting completes the arrival, especially when standing on its own – one of this library's major strenghts, next to its ability to blend in with more frontal sound design and its varied line-up of motorized vehicles: On the road, rails, water and airborne with both interior ambiences and exterior recordings.
Acoustic Purity and Flexibility
TRANSPORTATION is one of the most flexible ambient libraries, thanks to its acoustic purity and isolation of targeted sounds, allowing you to design exactly what you need without any unwanted, arbitrary noise to worry about. A strong addition to your sound pool that will enhance, or perhaps even replace earlier designs.
Brazillian Airports & Plane Journeys is a comprehensive collection of various ambiences and environments. All of the main areas of the airports are covered, including check-in, baggage check, food halls and departure gates. In addition to this, all of the major interior plane phenomena such as coasting, take off, landing and in flight are also included.
The majority of sound files in the library are over ten minutes in length, giving you a huge pool to source your audio from.
With Brazilian Airports & Plane Journeys you will never be left wanting for airport or passenger ambiences again.
Sounds from a Transit System on Pause.
Underground Ambiences and Mechanical Atmospheres for Cinematic and Abstract Soundscapes.
The Still Line is a 139-minute sound effects library capturing the rare stillness and quiet pulse of an underground rail network paused in time. Recorded during a period of minimal traffic, as public life slowly returned after lockdowns, it spans resonant tunnels, hushed platforms, and moving trains, with subtle human presence woven throughout—footsteps, luggage wheels, and distant voices—adding life without disrupting the pervasive stillness. These recordings offer rich ambiences and precise mechanical textures, perfect for grounding a scene in reality, providing unique sonic textures, or reimagining it for something entirely new.
Step into an underground transit system where empty platforms, echoing tunnels, the mechanical heartbeat of infrastructure, and sparse human touches all coexist to create a cinematic soundscape.
This mini-library offers over two hours of recordings from quiet platforms, long tunnels, ticket halls, train interiors, and the subtle machinery that sustains the network. Freed from the usual crowd noise, every detail emerges: the tonal hum of escalators, the metallic sigh of air brakes, distant trains rolling through silent tunnels, and the layered resonance of vast, reflective chambers.
What’s Inside
Whether you’re building a dystopian future, crafting cinematic tension, or repurposing urban textures for abstract sound design, The Still Line offers a unique palette grounded in reality yet open to transformation.
A very flavourful and expressive vintage single-seater race car from the late 1950s !
This car has been recorded on a private circuit. It has a very peculiar peculiarness : its engine had issues and emitted a specific staccato/typewriter type of sound. So, if you’re looking for a car with some character, look no further my good person. We at Big Pizza Sniffers always strive to deliver you something functionally broken in the best quality possible. It’s obviously not broken to the point of not working. This is a very very fast car that did very fast laps. It’s just peculiar. Listen to the demo attached.
We’ve recorded a couple laps with 3 onboards mics, as well as exteriors with a Schoeps MS setup : a startup to drive away, an arrival to stop, and some idle on the track.
It’s a short little library that can cover your many needs if you have a vintage/flavourful race car scene. It can also function as asmr if you’re a really big fan of the madmax movies.

All the recordings were recorded, edited and mastered with love and care.
This sound library was created after four fun and detailed recording sessions with four unique cars—three classics from the “Soviet-era” – Skoda 125L, Skoda 1203, and Skoda Favorit and a bonus BMW E38 720i. We captured a wide range of sounds, including interior and exterior props, pass-bys, reverses, approaches, and departures.
For the driving sessions, we placed microphones in key spots—at the exhaust, engine, and inside the car—to get different perspectives. This gives you plenty of flexibility, whether you’re working on sound design for movies, video games, or anything in between.
In total, the library includes 336 high-quality sounds, mostly recorded in 96kHz, 24-bit format. We made sure to capture various driving speeds with all the cars, so it can fit whatever scene you’re creating.

Animal Hyperrealism Vol III is a library containing sounds themed animal vocalisations, from real to designed creatures totaling more than 1700 individual sounds in 279 files.
The sounds were recorded in zoos and wildlife centers. The asset list includes but is not limited to: european red deers, monkeys, reindeers, hornbills camels, crickets, tamarins, boars, frogs, red ruffed lemurs, parrots, and many more.
The content has been recorded at 192KHz with a Sanken CO100K plus a Sennheiser 8050 for center image and a couple of Sennheiser MKH8040 for stereo image.
Part of the cheats section of the library features samples recorded at 384KHz. For these sounds an additional microphone was employed, specifically the CMPA by Avisoft-Bioacoustics which records up to 200 KHz. This microphone was used to record most of the library but the 384KHz format was preserved only where energy was found beyond 96KHz not to occupy unnecessary disk space.
All files are delivered as stereo bounce of these for mics, though in some instances an additional couple of CO100K was added to the sides.
The resulting ultrasonic spectrum is rich and allows for truly extreme manipulation of the content.
Audiobeast is proud to present our second sample library; the only library of its kind to focus entirely on weapons being fired in urban environments! For this recording session we were given access to a military training site known as a FIBUA (Fighting In Built-Up Area) consisting of streets with a variety of buildings, vehicles, and exclusive permission to fire weapons in several locations. Pictures of the street and gas station locations and firing points are included.
The aim of this library was to offer the slapback type tails needed for gun sound design for convincing city scenes in film, games and tv production. It’s always been difficult to find gun recordings in a city environment so we hope this library helps sound people everywhere.
This Library contains over 3 GBs of weapons being fired in multiple urban environments, a street, outside of a gas station and inside of a tower block. 218 WAV files of single shots, bursts and many with multiple takes, all recorded at 96 khz 24 bit, with heaps of information on microphones used and distance from the firearms.
Various distances were captured, from the DPA4062 on the guns themselves, to the distant other end of the street 100 metres away. To add, some mics were positioned around corners, a nearby graveyard, through walls and in armored vehicles to capture a variety of perspectives.
Minimal cleanup on the recordings was carried out very carefully so as not to introduce any artefacts into the recordings, they are presented as raw as possible.
If you need a wider selection of interior gun recordings please check out our first library – The London Warehouse Firearms library
Florida Thunder by Eric Berzins contains 111 distinct wav files with over 200 dry thunderclaps and over 300 thunderclaps with rain. All files have been meticulously edited and cleaned, and have embedded UCS-compliant Soundminer metadata.
Animal Hyperrealism Vol I is a library containing sounds themed animal vocalisations, from real to designed creatures totaling more than 1300 individual sounds in 290 files.
The sounds were partly recorded with animals trained for media production, partly recorded in zoos and wildlife centers. The asset list includes but is not limited to: african lions, bengal tigers, horses, donkeys, cows, exotic birds, owls, bobcats, pumas, dromedaries, wolves, dogs, geese, lemurs, gibbons and many more.
All the content has been recorded at 192KHz with a Sanken CO100K plus a Sennheiser 8050 for center image and a couple of Sennheiser MKH8040 for stereo image. All files are delivered as stereo bounce of these four mics, though in some instances an additional couple of CO100K was added to the sides.
The resulting ultrasonic spectrum is rich and allows for truly extreme manipulation of the content.
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
