In a remote research lab in the north-east of England, scientists have been secretly carrying out experiments on a number of human test subjects. There is no record of what these experiments entailed or who authorized them, but one thing we do know is that something went horrendously wrong and transformed these once-innocent, everyday people into something else entirely… Something inherently evil.
Herein lies an audio documentation of these wretched beasts as they run amok with only one thing on their minds… To feed and to destroy.

This small, highly focused sound library features drones and textures created solely with sounds from a 1950’s Cable upright piano.
These sound effects range from low, dark, and pulsating, to high and shimmering and could easily work in sci-fi, suspense, thrillers, or fantasy. While they can sound otherworldly, the sounds are actually quite organic. The sounds were made with looped and layered tone clusters and ambience recorded inside the piano – no granularization, synthesis, or additional processing like reverb were employed.
They can be used alone or mixed with other sounds to great effect.
Get a great selection of gory sounds with Bones & Flesh – including bone-breaking, cracking and crunching, flesh ripping and manipulations, different kind of stabs, and many other disgusting sounds.
All the sound effects have been created from original recordings.

A construction kit of the sounds you need to design organisms on the microscopic level. Whether you’re making a medical animation, a nature documentary or something entirely fictional, Microbes delivers in skittering, fluttering and slithering sounds. Anything from single-cell organisms to complex insects is possible. Sounds are grouped in a variety of creature “species”, allowing you to create different voices with a good amount of nuance in performance. You also get a range of bubbling and swarming sounds, as well as wet and slimy elements. To complete your microscopic universe, there are a number of abstract and otherworldly ambiances.
Sounds were created using various physical instruments and props, such as a hardware modular synth, bowed metal springs, a cactus and good fashioned old voice acting. No actual microbes were harmed (or even consulted) during production. You can read more about the creation of Microbes here.

SCARE YOUR AUDIENCE TO DEATH
The Horror Jumpscares library contains terrifying stinger and riser sound effects and gives you everything you need to create sudden and scary shocks. Designed from the source material of screams, strings, synths and metal, these sounds are a must-have for horror projects.
A TOOL FOR HAIR-RAISING SOUND DESIGN
Use the sounds to build up creepy atmospheres and bring the nervous tension to a climax with an unexpected jumpscare. Loud and painful noises are a fundamental part of horror films and games, perfectly underlining fast-cut and action-packed sequences.
Included are 111 sound effects that guarantee goosebumps and are not for the faint of heart.
Frustration. You’ve spent hours on a project, only to end up with a sound scape that feels incomplete. The action scene feels empty, the weapons don’t sound heavy enough, the transitions don’t pack enough of a punch, the space ship doesn’t feel large enough and the monsters aren’t sufficiently scary.
The Augmentation Elements library has been built with this problem in mind. Due to the library’s abstract nature, the Risers, Stings, Swells and Whooshes can be molded and manipulated into adding that missing element that you’re looking for, and sweetening the whole mix.
In order to save you time and help you quickly find the sounds that you need, SoundMiner metadata has been carefully created for each individual file. There are no ‘Scream, 1’ and ‘Scream, 2’ in this library! Every single file is individually described, and the use of numbers is not employed!
Have a look at the metadata list further down the page!
Now, Your futuristic energy weapons don’t sound full enough? Try layering some of the stings and swells underneath them.
That large space ship doesn’t seem large enough? Grab some whooshes and pan them to your heart’s delight.
The alien doesn’t sound scary enough? Some of the stings sound eerily close to vocalizations. Grab them and run wild.
Are crucial transitions in your film lacking punch? Drag some of those risers into your DAW and see which one fits best!

Audiobeast is proud to present our second sample library; the only library of its kind to focus entirely on weapons being fired in urban environments! For this recording session we were given access to a military training site known as a FIBUA (Fighting In Built-Up Area) consisting of streets with a variety of buildings, vehicles, and exclusive permission to fire weapons in several locations. Pictures of the street and gas station locations and firing points are included.
The aim of this library was to offer the slapback type tails needed for gun sound design for convincing city scenes in film, games and tv production. It’s always been difficult to find gun recordings in a city environment so we hope this library helps sound people everywhere.
This Library contains over 3 GBs of weapons being fired in multiple urban environments, a street, outside of a gas station and inside of a tower block. 218 WAV files of single shots, bursts and many with multiple takes, all recorded at 96 khz 24 bit, with heaps of information on microphones used and distance from the firearms.
Various distances were captured, from the DPA4062 on the guns themselves, to the distant other end of the street 100 metres away. To add, some mics were positioned around corners, a nearby graveyard, through walls and in armored vehicles to capture a variety of perspectives.
Minimal cleanup on the recordings was carried out very carefully so as not to introduce any artefacts into the recordings, they are presented as raw as possible.
If you need a wider selection of interior gun recordings please check out our first library – The London Warehouse Firearms library
MAGIC – ALCHEMY is a professional sound effects library built from real chemical reactions and elemental forces. It delivers short, character-rich magic sound effects perfect for spellcasting, magical UI design, and fantasy storytelling. Designed to sit cleanly in a mix and shimmer with personality, these spell sounds are ideal for games, trailers, audio dramas and more. Real reactions, recorded with obsessive detail.
No digital fakery here. Every sound in MAGIC – ALCHEMY began as a live experiment — alcohol burning in jars, butane growling through pipes, fuses igniting, water swirling in glass. These are true-to-life textures, captured in a lab-grade recording setup. The result? Magical sound with depth, realism, and spark..
These are not long, cinematic flourishes. This library is about immediacy — short, dry, punchy magic effects that are easy to slot into your project. Ideal for game asset design, magical feedback sounds, and trailer moments where clarity counts.
Need a healing chime, a cursed hex, or something more ambiguous? The Designed section is grouped into Holy, Cursed, and Neutral categories — giving you emotional options that match your scene’s intent, whether you’re crafting a fantasy RPG or a subtle magical interaction.
Whether you’re layering magic for a fantasy film, adding interactive audio to a mobile game, or creating rich textures for audiobooks or theatre, MAGIC – ALCHEMY fits right in. It’s mix-ready, flexible, and full of sonic character.

We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
