Mechanical Sound Effects

  • This library is a collection of hand tools with gasoline engines. Includes:

7 Chansaws: Husqvarna 3120 XP (King of Chainsaws), Stihl MS 880 (The most powerful series-produced chainsaw in the world),
Stihl MS 440, Stihl MS 361, Stihl MS 201, Stihl MS 192 and Stihl MS 180 (Worldwide Bestseller).

    3 Mistblowers: Stihl SR 450, Kawashima ST520, Kaxifa 3WF-3.

1 Pole Pruner: Stihl HT 75 Professional Pole Pruner.

Within this library you will find long idle and work loops, a series of perfect and clean ignitions, engines “on and off”, and engine bursts.

  • Need the sounds of small motors? The Motors SFX library is packed with recordings of gadgets, which can add some cool and unusual textured motor sounds to your sound design process.

Sounds include antique, vintage and just plain old machines and motors, many of them half broken and busted, small plastic wind up toys, newer motors, tools, calculators, a 198x fax machine, a screaming Powerball, a massage tripod, and toys running, turning, getting stuck, lifting, driving and screwing.
As a very unique set of tracks in this pack, one of the oldest Danish cars was recorded and put in here.

The Hammel car was build back in 1888. It has 2.5 horsepower, and a top speed of 9 kilometers an hour. The startup process is done with matches and a lot of patience. Once this beast starts up, the sound is among one of the most funny and weird sounds ever. The library has a dual perspective recording of this car, and covers the entire startup, going (idling), and shutting down sequence.

  • Make use of the diverse mechanized noises from a standard office printer, scanner, and copier in your audio projects!

Print is a boutique sound effects library of automated clicking, beeping, and whirring sounds all captured from a single Ricoh® laser printer. Every action, setting, and component of the machine was pristinely recorded to give you high-quality printer sound effects including the paper feed, scanner bed, duplexer and more.

These printer recordings are perfect for office backgrounds. And they are equally useful in the sound design of retro-futuristic devices, robotic creatures, electronic gadgets, and steampunk industrial machines. The Print library also includes several pre-designed steampunk sound effects ready for immediate use.

Print is also included in Pro Sound Effects’ CORE: Standard.

    Key Features:

    • 50 sound effects (2.2GB)
    • 24-bit/96kHz broadcast .wav files
    • Descriptive embedded metadata

  • Door Sound Effects Small Furniture Workshop Play Track 17 sounds included, 52 mins total $30

This library is recorded in a small furniture workshop where office furniture is sawn and created. We recorded the sounds of the factory so that they can be easily combined together to create a workshop of any scale.

    Here’s What We Recorded:

    • Large circular saw

    • Drill

    • Doors

    • General work noises

    • Industrial Spaces

Microphones were placed at varying distances from the recording subjects. Many recordings were created using a LOM Geofon contact microphone.

  • Sci-Fi Sound Effects Cyborg Collection Play Track 3000+ sounds included $55

The Cyborg Collection features a wide assortment of over 3000 Sci-Fi sound effects ranging from small user interfaces to massive robots.

  • Environments & Ambiences Auto Workshop Play Track 72+ sounds included, 83 mins total $35

Want the sounds of a garage / auto repair workshop? The Auto Workshop SFX library features lots of different tool sounds and general ambiences from automotive workshops (originally recorded for scenes in the Bulgarian feature Godless).

The idea was to capture the sounds at both closeup and off-mic, to be able to fade easily between them. A mono microphone was placed close to the source, and a set of stereo microphones was set up further away, capturing more of the room and echo. The result is very usable, and the ability to fade between closeup and wide shot works very well.

  • This collection contains a wide variety of buttons and switches. We pushed, flicked, turned and twisted all the buttons, knobs and switches we could find to make sure you have everything for your sound design needs. To give you as many options as possible, we recorded everything at a high sample rate with several microphones. Every sound was recorded with at least a contact microphone, a large diaphragm microphone and a small diaphragm microphone. In addition, most of the sounds were recorded with two small diaphragm microphones with different pickup patterns (omni and cardioid).

The high sample rate and multiple microphone setup makes this collection excellent for sound design and heavy processing. We have also included all sounds in 96 kHz and 48 kHz in case 196 kHz is not required for your projects.

    The following microphones were used:

    1x Barcus Berry (contact microphone)
1x Neumann U87 A1 or Brauner Phantom Classic (large diaphragm)
1x Sanken CU31 (small diaphragm, cardioid)
1x DPA 4041 (small diaphragm, omni)

  • This collection started as a mic test and turned into a library. What is unique about the collection is that the phone was taken apart so you get each individual element as clean as possible. It was recorded with shotgun mics, a TLM 103 to see how it sounded with something other than dialogue, and a Cold Gold contact mic at 96 khz, which was the biggest surprise as it sounds like a high definition retro mic when placed on the back of the phone's rotary dial. Skip the antique hunt and listen to these vintage sounds.

  • A killer antique accordion full of paper crinkles, key clacks, sick sounding wheezes and old wood creaks. The antique accordion was rescued from a local antique shop. It has a hole in the bellows that creates a distinct wheezing sound, and it is loaded up with strange squeaks, pops and paper textures.

We rolled on this instrument for about an hour, and did everything from flicking the keys to dropping and pounding it. The accordion took some abuse, but in the end what it gave back was a wealth of old sounding textures you can’t fake.

This instrument was recorded at 24 bit 96k, in dual mono – with an AT4050 for a wide perspective and a Schoeps CMC6.MK4 for a close perspective. Comes with 57 .wav files and 19 Kontakt .nki files (the .nki files require the full retail version of NI Kontakt 4.2.3 or later)

Note: Can be used without Kontakt too!
All Kontakt instrument libraries include fully unlocked and accessible metadata tagged .wav files. You don't need any version of Kontakt to use these files as a standalone sample library.

  • Introducing the ultimate roller coaster sound library: Roller Coaster Sound Builder includes high-quality recordings from 5 different roller coasters, from classic steel coasters to aggressive impulse coaster. This huge collection includes clean roller coaster passbys, onboard recordings, and classic roller coaster screams.

Roller coaster pass by sounds were recorded without background noise in an amusement park that was closed to the public. A great amount of natural screams with different intensities is also included, recorded during a regular summer day in the amusement park.

    Roller Coasters included:

    – Big Steel Coaster (inverted steel coaster with high speed and loops)
    – Small Steel Coaster (classic-sounding sit-down coaster)
    – Flying Coaster (with a more metallic and rumbly sound)

    – Motorbike Coaster (fast flywheel launch)

This collection provides unique, hard-to-access source material in high-quality, with a large amount of takes for creative sound design. We worked hard to capture as much useful material as we could when we had full access to the rides. All sounds were recorded in Särkänniemi amusement park, Tampere, Finland. Also available in the special Complete Amusement Park Sound Bundle.

  • This is a unique bicycle library that captures this characteristic bike in clean, quiet, nicely performed true exterior rides. Including multiple perspectives, speeds and actions. From fast passbys on asphalt to slow onboard recordings and smooth stops.

The GoodBike is a smooth sounding retro bike that doesn’t rattle or squeak, it has a really nice tire sound for a subtle presence in the mix.

    Speeds and actions:
Three speeds. Departures from slow, medium to fast getaways. Arrivals from slow stops with gently squeaking handbrakes to heavy stuttering skids.

    Five perspectives:
    1. Onboard Front: captures the whirring tire and surface sound.
    2. Onboard Pedal: nice overall combination of pedaling, crank creaks, chain rattle, tire and surface sounds.
    3. Onboard Rear: close up sound of the rear axle, with chain, sprocket and switching of gear.
    4. Tracking shot: mono recording of the passby, keeping the bike in focus while passing by.
    5. Static XY shot: stereo recording of the passby that emphasizes speed.

Overview of perspectives and mic placement:

Onboard recordings are 2-3 minutes long depending on speed. Higher speeds > shorter duration.
All 3 onboard mics are edited in sync with one another to make layering easy.
All Passbys, Arrivals and Departures move from Left to Right.

    Metadata & Markers:

FREE UPDATE to City Bicycles: now conforms to UCS with new metadata to quickly find your sounds.

Because we know how important metadata is for your sound libraries we have created a consistent and intuitive description method that adheres to the Universal Category System. This allows you to find the sound you need easily, whether you work in a database like Soundminer/Basehead/PT Workspace work, or a Exporer/Finder window. We made a video that helps you navigate the library ans find your best bicycle sounds faster and easier.

    CategoryFull
A quick way to filter out sounds you don’t need: like handling sounds or vice versa bicycle onboards.

    UserCategory
Fastest way to find the type of action you need for all bicycles. Passby needed, just click and voila.

    OpenTier

Once you’ve selected the bike you can open up OpenTier and audition and select the perspective you want to use.

    Scene &  Performer
This field contains the type of bicycle or other sound. So you can find the bike you like fast.

    iXMLTrackLayout
This is a neat little identifier you will find in the Waveform displays and you can see in a glance what Listening position you are.

    MicPerspective

We have another way to find perspectives but it is more limited to distance to the recorded subject.
So passbys are MED – EXT and handling are CU – EXT. Exterior? Of course: we recorded everything outside!

    UserComments
We used this field to create the UserData and give you the minimal set of information about the recording in the filename.

Additionally, we added Markers to some wave files, so specific sound events are easy to spot in Soundminer and other apps.

If you have any questions about this, please contact us [email protected]!

  • A collection of buttons and motor sounds recorded from a Sony TCM-939 cassette tape deck.

Useful for UI design, mechanical sound design and all manner of everyday switches. Recorded at 96 kHz these recordings sound amazing pitched down to become big mechanical noises.

Includes transport buttons, motor sounds, tray opens and closes, tapes in and out and the deck in operation from exterior and interior perspectives. Also present are cassette and tape case handling sounds.

Almost all the sounds were recorded using a mono DPA 4060 omni mic at very close range for details and a Sennheiser MKH 40 for a more overall sound.

The miniature size of the DPA 4060s means that there are numerous takes of the machine running recorded from inside the tape tray, which results in amazing close details of the motor and buttons.

  • Two Typewriters. Protectograph. Adding Machine. Sewing Machine. Vintage Cigarette Machine.

The sound enthusiast in you will love to know that we scoured around the city/internet to collect a bunch of antique mechanistic objects for this sound collection. We even scored an old classic adding machine and a working antique pedal sewing machine! The gears and mechanisms in this odd assortment of old machines is from a beautiful and rich bygone era of manual movement, of strange and fascinating ideas from inventors creating moving parts that are simply unproducible in modern day gadgets.

Your ears spring to life as you listen through, one by one through these highly detailed and engrossing audio recordings that capture brilliantly the foreground and midground layers of the small moving parts. Perfect for older weapon Foley, for steam-punk machines, period piece machines, industrial era machinery, and on and on. A small vintage gear crank, that special metallic rich clickety-clack of a dusty old mechanism, the ribbon typewriter scrolling…

To get the most out of this collection of old mechanisms, we used a multipositional close mic-ing approach for these in order to get all those tiny moving details. Of course, they required that they be captured in our smallest studio used for precisely these low-noise environment sort of recordings – key in bringing the detailed three dimentional quality of these mechanisms to life.

As sound designers, we always need new, better, varied material. We want to feel excited by and connected to the sounds we use – enjoy and make it yours!

  • Audiobeast is proud to present our second sample library; the only library of its kind to focus entirely on weapons being fired in urban environments!  For this recording session we were given access to a military training site known as a FIBUA (Fighting In Built-Up Area) consisting of streets with a variety of buildings, vehicles, and exclusive permission to fire weapons in several locations.  Pictures of the street and gas station locations and firing points are included.

The aim of this library was to offer the slapback type tails needed for gun sound design for convincing city scenes in film, games and tv production.  It’s always been difficult to find gun recordings in a city environment so we hope this library helps sound people everywhere.

This Library contains over 3 GBs of weapons being fired in multiple urban environments, a street, outside of a gas station and inside of a tower block. 218 WAV files of single shots, bursts and many with multiple takes, all recorded at 96 khz 24 bit, with heaps of information on microphones used and distance from the firearms.

Various distances were captured, from the DPA4062 on the guns themselves, to the distant other end of the street 100 metres away. To add, some mics were positioned around corners, a nearby graveyard, through walls and in armored vehicles to capture a variety of perspectives.

Minimal cleanup on the recordings was carried out very carefully so as not to introduce any artefacts into the recordings, they are presented as raw as possible.

If you need a wider selection of interior gun recordings please check out our first library – The London Warehouse Firearms library
