A special sound effect library from renowned sound designer and recordist Tim Nielsen: It's captured with a VC3 recorder, which turns electromagnetic frequencies into audible tones. The collection features weird statics, data and telemetry beeps, the EMF signatures of things such as rack mount gear, LCD screens, telephones and computers. A total of 178 minutes of sounds are included.
Here are the chaotic, squealing, squelching insides of everyday electronic apparatus, such as cell phones, laptops, MiniDisc (I’m so old) players and battery drills.
Sounds that drone, sounds that buzz – sounds that go “YipYipYiiiipfffrrrszz…”. No kidding. Recorded with induction coils/telephone pickups or whatever you want to call them, these sounds are excellent sound design material.
In fact, I couldn’t help “performing” a bit when recording some of them, just to add a little extra movement.
200 sounds from no-input mixer recording sessions featuring cable & pedal noise, drones, harsh noisescapes, high frequency feedback, hum, interference, low frequency noise atmospheres, machines gone wild and a multitude of general feedback effects.
For inventive navigation tones, future technology sounds, glitch elements, horror atmospheres, corrupted audio flows and more, this original sound collection will serve as a versatile palette for sound designers/editors/artists, music producers and anyone looking for interesting audio artefacts.
All files are 24 Bit/96 kHz with embedded metadata.
This library was created to provide designers with drag and drop sounds for sweeps, fades, surges, swells, and other embellishments. Each of the sounds in this collection were designed to be used to heighten events, but they can be mashed, stacked, and chopped to create all sorts of eclectic designs. There are plays on musical concepts as well as thematic events, with each sound purposefully building up, culminating in a peak moment, and then dissipating in some way. They are organized into 100 families (designs) with 5 variations each, ranging wildly in topic, movement, duration, dynamics, attack, release, loudness, density, and speed. Some are natural and organic while others are completely rigid and synthetic (and some fall variably in between).
If you need to festoon the heck out of a scene or event in your project…If you need some complex SFX designs craftily layered and ready-to-go…If you need a diverse set of easy-to-tweak, overflowing sonic enrichment, then look no further. You've found it.
I have recorded 6 different fluorescent bulb lamps in an industrial warehouse with two close mic'd dpa 4060 in each that I then edited into 30 stereo files (about 5 takes of each with different lengths). Excellent for all of your warehouse, slum, industrial sound and ambience needs. Check out the video, or email before buying if you feel like it! Enjoy.
Fringe Elements is an aggressive sample pack of divergent and destructive sounds designed for musicians and sound designers in need of a hard-hitting sound pallet on the periphery of normal. Each sound was built in the modular world and heavily processed through DSP algorithms to create structurally unique outcomes and ultimately highly usable samples.
Contained in this collection are 225 unique sounds designed as FX, rhythmic elements, evolving textures, noise, distortion, spectral atmospheres and other elements perfect as building blocks to new music and sound projects or to be layered into existing work to add weight, depth and dimension.
The Boom, Crackle and Scream library is the first in a planned series of Glitch Factory mini libraries. This library uses sounds recorded of Fireworks ranging from large booms to small sparklers and mangles them into interesting textures in varying degrees.
The sounds have been manipulated using analog synthesizers, custom Reaktor instruments and other types of granular processing. They will work well for Sci-Fi weapon layers, user interface sounds and more.
THE GLITCH TOOLKIT
In this library, you will find electronic sounds that can be used on a variety of applications such as Sci-Fi projects, computer glitches, faulty equipment, robots and much more.
All of the files were designed from scratch – no pre-existing sounds were used – and they are sourced from actual computer errors, generating original sounds.
Included, you will find a folder called “TELEVISION_&_RADIO”. The files in that folder have an EQ applied to them to simulate the effect of the sounds coming out of those pieces of equipment. This will save you time – you don’t have to worry about processing them and can drag & drop them into your projects.
THE GLITCH sound library brings you highly twisted, glitchy, twitchy, gritty, grimy audio madness perfect for various music genres like dubstep, EDM, IDM, hardcore, darkcore, electro-industrial, hardstyle, glitch hop, downtempo, drum‘n’bass, hybrid cinematic music, but also very useful sonic tool for sound designers, editors, and pretty much anyone who likes to play and try different things with sound!
These warped and mangled glitch sounds always work great as a source of inspiration and new ideas as they tend to induce more experimental approach to music making, thus helping in achieving unexpectedly creative and original results. A must have for every producer, musician or sound designer, these glitch sound effects will instantly find a way into your production and bring some serious edge to it!

A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
