This library is a collection of a wide variety of sounds recorded with high quality equipment over the past few years.
Most of the sounds are field recordings or otherwise raw without any processing such as noise removal, EQ or compression, but still mostly curated and edited so that it’s fast to start using them in your projects.
To celebrate the end of one era I decided to put together most of my recordings as one library, it’s including recordings with different techniques – from the electromagnetic fields of iPhone and a contact-mic’d sewing machine, to ORTF-stereo atmospheres of greenhouses, and gardens full of crickets recorded in ambisonic, and much more. 45 GB of material should cover your needs for some time :)
I hope it’s useful as a source of ready-to-use sound effects, but also as material and inspiration for something more. High quality and high sample rates allow you to manipulate the sounds a lot without losing their energy. Have fun with the library!

In the realm of echoes and reverberations, metal doors and their components orchestrate a symphony of industrial sounds. The eerie screech of metal on metal, the clattering of a metal grid being opened, and the definitive shut of a metal locker add layers of depth to this auditory landscape. Knocking on a metal door introduces a rhythm, punctuated by the intricate movements of metal mechanisms at work. Each sound, from the subtle to the resounding, tells a story of passage, security, and the cold touch of metal in motion.

Hello Creators!
Here’s my new pack: “RPG Inventory Sounds“

The approach for this pack was to create sounds for the inventory all RPG/Fantasy video games have.
I recorded some bags and items I have in my home :)
There are different types of SFX inside this pack: bag, remove items, coins, equipment, clothes, food, stones, armour, etc…
They can be used in different styles of video games or other media projects.
I hope you enjoy implementing this sounds in your project!
Making-Off
All this sounds were originally recorded with a Zoom H6 (cardiod microphone), and were edited in Logic Pro X, almost no processing was made, it was mainly editing the recorded material but also I used the plugin “Phaseplant” as a sampler.
This Collection of Room Tones contains Recordings made in empty, abandoned old Buildings and Medieval Ruins. Unsettling Draft Sounds from different perspectives. Wind Gusts heard from inside, Wind Storm echoing in old Chapels or Church, eerie humming inside abandoned spaces, Tonal Draft creating creepy atmospheres… Over 2,5 hours of Urbex type ambiences, containing long files and loops for easy use and variety. Recorded in stereo inside and outside interesting, and secret places, which is a rule for urban exploring ;-)
These are not common Room Tones with only presence of a silent room, but more ambiences that are suited for games/movie where characters are supposed to be in shelter, in abandoned places, in castles, dungeons, prisons, machine rooms etc. Cracks, moving structures, rattling objects are left in purposely to really have a detailed and convincing setting for game, documentary or any visual content. Best is to keep the volume low enough to not overdo the atmosphere.
Care is taken to not have any disturbing human traffic in the recordings, so these will fit for most time periods and geographic locations.
Every surface in our pack features at least 5 variations for both RUNNING and WALKING actions, ensuring dynamic realism when these variations are randomized by your game engine. Additionally, we’ve introduced LAYERS – Boots, Plate, Armor, and Water – that can be layered onto your default footsteps for a unique auditory experience. What sets our pack apart from others in the marketplace is its meticulous alignment. All 192 files are perfectly synced, so when two or more SFX play simultaneously, they harmonize seamlessly. This precision offers the freedom to blend diverse surfaces and layers, forging realistic and captivating footstep sounds. Note that there are no walking or running loops in this pack, only single-step sound effects.
For instance, imagine your character traversing a swampy terrain:
Thanks to the flawless synchronization of our files, triggering the Grass 1 and Water Layer SFX simultaneously produces a rich auditory blend, perfectly encapsulating the feel of a swampy area.
Tip 1: Use plate, boots, and armor layers alongside surfaces to give a special flavor to your movements, depending on which equipment your character is wearing.
Tip 2: Although volumes are matched pretty nicely as it is, playing with volume levels can help you to layer sounds more creatively. For example, if you layer grass, gravel, and armor, you can adjust the volumes for each depending on what you want to create.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.

A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!

We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!

A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!

I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!

A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
