The eerie sound of wind resonating through wires, fences and abandoned buildings.
Recorded using the JrF C-Series contact microphone, these recordings capture the metallic resonance of wind with natural ebbs and flows.
All sounds were recorded using the JrF C-Series contact microphone stereo pair and Sound Devices Mix-Pre 6.

Digital Dust delivers 128 tracks of pure digital bit-crushing distortion, deep atmospheric drones, and ear-piercing interface sounds.
Digital Dust is not your usual clean and modern computer command sound effects library. All sounds have been designed from real world electrical or organic recorded sounds.
Granulated, stretched, pitched and mangled in endless chains of plugins and hardware, for very different and almost apocalyptic kinds of rogue computer command sounds. The samples can easily be stretched or processed even more, for even weirder sound fx.
This is a dense library of accomplished and cacophonous sounds. This is a dramatic and horror filled library, teaming with tension and ghostly ambience, stingers and hits.
Most of these sounds have been used in film and television in one form or another. They’re more than just “designy sounds”.
These are intended to create a score of tension that can help you build a scene to it’s full potential. These sounds add movement within the soundtrack, especially with the drones, stingers, hits and demonic lingerings.
If you’re looking to notch your project up a level with intensity, mood and expressive design, this may be a step in the right direction. Hopefully you’ll have as much inspiration as I did when creating these.
The Inner ambience sound effects library is a collection of high definition sounds recorded inside various spaces using matched stereo contact microphones.
Each ambience has its own unique character and natural frequency modulation.
Some of them has constant velocity like an industrial hum, power block energy field, fans and compressors, while others have weird fluctuations like road columns affected by wind and passing-by cars, bridge columns, fences, water pipes: some of the mechanical and electrical sequences were recorded as well, such as water pump, lawn mowers, automatic window rollers, pool cover mechanism and others.
The audio files could be used, as they are – for dark, eerie, confusing atmospheres or elements in your game or film projects.
It is a good source for further manipulation and designing new sounds as it is recorded in 24/96. In addition to the pack there are designed sounds of these recordings to give you an idea of how you can push them in a different creative way and of course use it in your projects as well.
800+ sounds from one of the most complex and varied sounding instruments that we’ve come across in our junk shop travels. Broken strings, creaky wood and a great resonant cavity gave us a massive collection of sounds ready to be bent and twisted.
This is a fretless German harp zither, which differs in quality significantly from concert zithers, which have several strings with fretted necks beneath them. This version was manufactured by Friederich Menzenhauer, the father of the zither in the US. Zithers of this kind are notoriously difficult to identify because they contain no distinguishing marks on the bodies themselves, and the only branding is on the paper label deteriorating inside the soundhole.
Our version had been worn beyond all repair through decades of age and neglect. Broken strings, creaky wood and a great resonant cavity gave us a massive collection of sounds ready to be bent and twisted.
We did much more than just throw a couple of mics up and pluck – this instrument was recorded with a stethoscope mic, a lav inside the cavity, overhead xy, room mics, and more. We banged, scraped, bowed, ebowed, and thumped every last noise out of this one in three separate sessions. The end result was a collection of about 5 Gb of edited stereo 24 bit 96k sound.
The Kontakt instruments are where the real magic happens with this instrument. There are presets for horror string hits, angelic and demonic pads, old creaks and more. The zither barely survived, but it gave us an array of sounds that are very different from what you’ll get from a properly tuned and maintained instrument. It is the uniqueness of the decay that gives our zither its character.
INFRA is a collection of 200 (24 Bit / 48 kHz, wav, UCS) signature booms, pings, and atmospheric elements for horror productions with a disturbing and dissonant feel. This library is perfect for composers and sound designers who want to create terrifying soundscapes.
The sounds in INFRA were all carefully crafted to evoke a sense of unease and dread. From the deep, reverberant booms to the sharp, piercing pings, these sounds will make your blood run cold.
INFRA also includes a variety of short and intense atmospheric elements that will disconcert your listeners making their skin crawl.
INFRA is the perfect tool for creating truly terrifying soundscapes. Whether you’re working on a short film, a trailer, a feature film, or a video game, this library will give you the sounds you need to make your audience feel an intense sense of dread.
Check the playlist. It shows with clarity what you will get!
In this sound pack you will find science-fiction drones and atmospheres for your next project. From dark and aggressive drones to icy or even glassy ones and to those coming from far out of space, there is something to fit your needs.
These sound effects are suitable for your next game or video of foreign planets, exploring the milky way and galaxies far beyond.
There are two versions included: 48 kHz / 24 bit and 44.1 khz /16 Bit.
Glacier Ambience is a pack of ambient drones created especially for the purpose of being used anywhere.
If your voice-over needs life, your video needs a mood, your sound design ambience needs a lift, and more.
These are ambient soundscapes and drones and not sounds from an actual glacier, but they were created while I was looking at one.
All this in one package. All designed for the specific ability to drag and drop any of the tracks in the package to your soundtrack and it will instantly bring a background mood and life to your creation.
All the sounds in here have been created while I was living in Iceland – with drones, glaciers, ambient life, nature and northern lights in mind.
Domestic Drones is a collection of 34 distorted and disturbing drones not for the faint-hearted. Each drone was created from recordings of domestic appliances and household items, such as fans, ventilation, taps, kettles and even coffee machines. Each one was then torn apart and treated using the finest plugins (and no virtual instruments) creating a collection of winds, howls, mechanical textures and alien winds.
This abstract collection is useful for anyone creating soundscapes for distant planets, submersed landscapes or even just a house of horrors.
OBSCURE FREQUENCIES is a unique collection of 336 sound effects created from uncommon audio recordings of radio masts, antennas, digital meters, circuit boards, batteries, home & leisure electronics, broken electronics etc.
Deep, dark, low and evolving soundscapes, cracking, distorted whooshes, hybrid electric loops and complex one-shots, all designed using exclusively recordings done with induction coil microphones.
Obscure frequencies is a very versatile pack that can be successfully use in many projects such as sci-fi, horror, sound installations and game audio. Its unique sound comes from combining organic recordings of things that cannot be heard without a special equipment and hours of complex sound design.
All soundscapes loop seamlessly and all source/raw recordings are included.
RECORDED WITH:Â Sound Devices MixPre 6 + JrF Induction Coil Mic + DIY Mics
CREATED AND EDITED WITH: Pro Tools, Live 10, iZotope Iris II, NI Kontakt.
Spring Box is 13 minutes/453mb of shrieking, droning, scraping metallic sounds – made by bowing a steel spring bolted to an empty steel enclosure. 81 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz using Primo EM172 and JrF contact microphones. All files are UCS-compliant.
Here’s a collection of eerie sounds for your next horror/sci-fi/ambient project. Everything from low rumbling and rattling, to high pitched, harmonics-laden screams; long, drawn-out sounds and short dings and twangs. Of course they sound really good when pitched down, too (the last 3 sounds in the preview are shifted down to quarter speed)!
The Spring Box is an old 19 inch rack enclosure, which I gutted and fitted with two springs from a genuine Luxo lamp (so you know it’s good). I have been having fun bowing and scraping this with a cello bow, as well as striking it with various other objects. Some sounds are recorded acoustically, while others were done with contact mics.
You get:
This library delivers 15 recordings of automatic car washes from interior and exterior perspectives recorded at 96khz.
All sounds were recorded using the Sound Devices Mix Pre 6, stereo pair of Sennheiser MKH 8020s as well as a stereo contact microphone.
Visit edible-audio.com for behind the scenes photos, contact information, sound library updates and exclusive deals.
DRONEA gets you over 13 hours of drones, pads, underscores and atmospheres.
A collection of 238 drones, designed at 24-bit. Light to dark, clean to dirty, low to high, moving transitioning and pulsating. Many of these audio atmospheres were naturally processed by playback through a huge concrete tunnel and vintage guitar amplifiers.
All sounds were recorded or designed at 24-bit, 96 kHz, with embedded meta data.
Vaeyan IV delivers a massive set of assorted sound design ingredients for your audio alchemy. It includes assets captured from natural ambiances, vehicles, tools, cameras, slingshots, scissors, clay whistles, flutes, ceramic jars, dumpsters, kitchen appliances, deconstructed fans, toys, doors, windows, vintage furniture, fountains, projectors, and even a slap bracelet. That’s right, a slap bracelet.
As with Vaeyan I, II, and III, this is a huddling of field recordings and sound designs that do not quite form a library on their own. However, together they make up an audio FX treasure chest gleaming with gold and silver audio loot!
The Keyless Piano Body is a Kontakt Patch library that features an abandoned upright piano without keyboard.
The library encompasses the results of three extensive recording sessions and features the wonderful and reverberant sound of these piano remains.
For session 1 and 2 the body was brought to a studio and literally laid back so that various things like plastic balls, felt balls, glasses and much more could be thrown in to excite the strings. At the end of both sessions tons of samples were ready to edit. They now form 13 Kontakt instruments that encompass several precisely tuned pianos plus many prepared piano sets.
Session 3 was kind of a field recording gig as the piano remains were meanwhile moved to a rural garden area. The nightly recordings were done 6-channel so that several sample sets from 2 acoustic mics and 4 contact pick ups could be created. Again, the Kontakt instruments from this session feature the sounds of a rotten piano that is lovely and impressive at the same time. In a second pass the piano strings were treated with a stell jazz brush to bring up 3 multi-channel sets with prepared piano-like sounds.
Please see the Patch List here or below to learn more about the individual instruments. Also note that The Keyless Piano Body requires Kontakt 4 or higher.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
