Experience the vibrant soundscape of the Brazilian Pantanal, one of the world’s largest tropical wetlands.
A while back we stayed at an AirBNB near Joshua Tree National Park. The hosts set up a bird feeder right outside the porch which inevitably drew what seemed to be the entirety of the region’s wildlife to our doorstep, including a bobcat and some coyotes. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any sound from the bobcat, and only mediocre recordings from the coyotes, but the Gambel’s Quails stole the spotlight and gave us a lot of interesting and goofy sounding bird calls to listen to. The atmosphere the birds created was so interesting to us that we spent countless hours listening, taking photos and recording them.
Introducing Vintage Combine, featuring high-quality stereo sounds of a fully operational 1970s-era John Deere 4400 combine harvester. For this library, I found a willing farmer in his late 70s harvesting a small corn crop at his family farm in northeast Ohio. His combine was set up with a four-row corn head. It looks like a set of hair clippers, only much bigger.
I made the recordings on a beautiful October afternoon, placing a Sony PCM D100 inside the combine’s cab to capture sounds like door slams, idling and harvesting. The farmer was a real trooper and refrained from making noise during the recording.
Several exterior sounds include a pass-by, idling and throttling at different RPMs. Plus, there is an exterior onboard recording of the machine harvesting the field, traveling slowly up and down rows of tall, dried-out field corn. I used a boom pole to suspend a pair of Line Audio CM3 microphones in ORTF over the moving harvester head. From this perspective, listening to corn stalks being chewed up and spit out into the combine’s grain tank makes for a fun recording. Seamless loops of certain sounds are included as well.
For your next farm feature, consider using Vintage Combine.

Hello Creators!
Here’s my new pack: “Monster Sounds – Volume 01“
The approach for this pack was to create some disgusting and fearsome monster sounds so you can create cool experiences for your audience! In this pack there are: Attacks, Growls, Arachnid SFX, beasts SFX, demonic SFX, Hurt sounds, different type of monsters, Undead SFX, also I made some shorter monsters (more high-pith).
They can be used in different styles of video games or other media projects.
I hope you enjoy implementing this sounds in your project!
Making-Off
All this sounds were originally recorded by a voice actor. I procesed all those voices and turned them into monsters with tools like: PitchMonster, Dehumaniser 2, MTransformer.

ROAR By Stags is sound effects library constructed with high quality recordings of deers roaring in the middle of the forest. Everything was captured at night, during the high time of rut. It’s time when the stags are most vocal, calling to attract the attention of hinds. During those 2 to 4 weeks they are less cautious and easier to record. Inside this package you’ll find 267 files with total length of 291 minutes, both stereo and mono recorded in few different places, covering a wide range of sounds from general ambients with distant and washed out calls, through middle range roars, up to very close ones. There are also few foley like recordings of deers walking or rubbing their antlers against the trees. This is a complete package for any nature documentary, horror-ish scenes or a great set of sounds for monster / creatures sound design.

“Morning Atmosphere Seaside Village Loops” is a unique collection of sounds recorded on a warm morning in a seaside village. In this atmospheric recording you will find seamless loops of crickets, rustling leaves on the trees, birds singing, dogs barking and the distant sounds of a train passing by, as well as planes flying high above the village.
Costa Del Sol – Crickets And Dogs contains well edited and well recorded sounds for your projects! Recorded on a Sound Devices MixPre6II and a matched pair of lom BasicUchos. One file is recorded with a Sanken CO100K. Recorded at 192/24.
Designing wing sounds for flying creatures can sometimes be a challenge. And when it comes to creature sounds, it’s all about options. A small bird like a wren sounds very different than an adult gray goose. To find the right texture, and distinguish between wide and narrow wings, or to accomplish the task of designing bat or dragon wings, I created this library.
This library contains over 11GB of data consisting of 341 files and 2539 sound effects. Besides the typical fabric wing flaps, I used all sorts of props sorted by materials like rubber, neoprene, plastic, paper, etc. This opens the door to new creative sound design options to make your flying creature sound exactly how you want it to. I added all sorts of buzzing, clicking and rustling sounds especially for the flying insects.
The Sounds of Malaysia Vol.1 is a mini collection of recordings taken during my travels in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, 2024.
Explore the rich and detailed world of animal vocalizations with this first volume, featuring 24 unique species including wildcats, primates, birds of prey, tropical birds, cats and more.
Recorded in close up using a Sanken CO-100K (sometimes combined with a MKH416), these sounds capture the finest details and ultrasonic content, perfect for extreme pitch and speed modulation.
Ideal for sound designers, this library is a top choice for creating realistic monster and creature sounds.
Produced in collaboration with La Boissière du Doré zoo, Natur’Zoo Mervent and Legendia Parc.

Sound for animation requires two key styles of sound: silly and unique elements for movements, devices, and creatures that can only exist in animation; and gritty realistic elements that make the animated world feel real. This library has all that, including: weird dog whines; screaming cows; gadgets and machines; clean wind and trees; 11 angles on a single waterfall; zips and transitions; unique tonal elements; door movement and creaks; impacts; and more.
When your general libraries don’t have a sound that’s interesting, specific, weird, or silly enough, turn to the Modern Animation Library for help!

Though these birds are in an abundance around most harbours and industry around here, they are not always easy to record. You mostly hear them from a distance, or from places not easy to access. When you try to get close to them, they will usually fly away.
Many hours have been spent on rooftops, gardens, backyards, a junkyard, and different harbours to get this material.
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
