Thermal Flux is a sound effects library formed by extreme temperature reactions. With materials ranging from -119°F to 1900°F all captured at 192kHz/24bit, it’s a fiery (and icy) collection of unique sound design source material.
In each recording, props with vast temperature differentials interact with each other… Red hot ball bearings vaporize liquids, melt ice, and destroy various household products. Extremely cold metal instantly freezes water. Molten metals and glass pour into water, groaning, chirping, and crackling, as they solidify. Dry ice causes coins to viciously chatter. Water beads bounce, whine, and buzz on blazing hot pans. White hot sand roars and erupts upon contact with water. All of this and more was recorded with mics capturing quality frequency information up to ~65kHz. This ultrasonic content allows for extreme pitch shifting without compromising fidelity.
‘Quadcopter Flight’ shows off these buzzing beasts from near and far in both quiet exterior locations and the studio.
Featuring a large quadcopter and two minis, these machines were captured as they performed all possible actions, such as take-offs, flybys, revs, and sustained flight.
The library also has foley, a few crashes, and recordings from contact mics that were attached to the two smaller quads for sounds of high-tech servo/rotor sounds that can be used for sci-fi projects containing robots, sliding doors, and more.

Viscous materials are probably one of the more common elements that come up on a regular basis, and one of the grossest to record. Let me save you the trouble. Slime is a collection of different Viscous materials ranging from literal slime to more abstract slime-like sounding materials like rubber.
One of the featured sounds of the library is a gallon of slime being tossed around, man-handled, and squished.
All the items in this collection were recorded at 192khz with a Sanken CO100k, so there's a lot of flexibility to be had pitching and manipulating the sounds.
Before you stick your hand in that jar of mayo, give the demo a listen. It might just save you some time, and smelling like a sandwich the rest of the day.
Elements: Gears is a collection of small and large gear, ratchet, cogwheel and other mechanical sounds recorded and edited over more than 2 years by George Vlad. The library encompasses more than 4000 individual sounds covering actions such as single clicks, slow movement, fast movement, short turns etc. The objects recorded include ratchet tools, plastic toys, old sewing machines, wagon wheels and ethnic noise making instruments. Some of the larger objects have been recorded using MKH 8040, DPA 4060 and a JrF contact microphone with each perspective included on a separate track.
The sounds can be used for obvious purposes such as ratchet wrenches, cogwheels, drawbridges, steampunk mechanisms, machinery etc.. As is the case with other libraries in the Elements series, these sounds can also be used as building blocks for more complex sounds such as spaceships, vehicles, industrial machinery and others. Additionally, all files are recorded and mastered at 24/96 quality which makes them excellent sound design elements ripe for serious processing.

We ‘domesticated’ planet earth and shaped it to our ideal human imaginary needs. Before that, the world belonged to nobody, wilderness was the norm! Powerful, wild and sometimes weird animals ruled the world.
Despite the current accelerating extinction of biodiversity, wildlife still exists in small pockets, and many animals are still alive and have a voice!
Naturally wild animals became the backbone of our project, but also wild sounds of animals in general. We thus literally went hunting for sounds. Though this kind of hunt gratefully does not harm Nature or animals.
With this library, we really went above and beyond. We explored all 4 corners of the world in places we wouldn’t have expected. Similar to wildlife photography, we sharpened our tools and methods to get the correct zoom with the right focus on the sounds of these animals. Along the way, we got some mishaps and misadventures which are part of the process. We thankfully are still alive; hence we can now today offer you the fruit of our quest.
Born Wild is now becoming the pinnacle of our Articulated sound journey, and we are proud to present it to you. We believe this library will give instant gratification as the content is so unique, rich, and meticulously curated.
We also hope that this library can sensitize and leverage efforts in protecting the planet where we all come from. This is why we are giving 3% of all sale revenue to ONG caring about wilderness and conservation.
Let’s keep our wild instinct alive!

9 total bowls were recorded. Notes C, D, D#, E, F, G, A, A one octave up and B. A variety of bowl sizes were used from 8 to 12 inches.

This unique SFX library gets you the close-up engine/rotor sounds of the DJI Phantom 2 multirotor quadcopter. And whether you are working on project that needs the engine sounds of an actual quadcopter drone, or intend to use the recordings as source material for sound design of all kinds of machines – this collection will come in handy:
We recorded static sound perspectives at different speeds, intensities and rotor combinations. The collection includes long recordings at constant speeds, variations on accelerating and decelerating, various maneuvers and random rotor movements.
For even more variety we recorded all of the above with a mix of contact and coil microphones giving you a less realistic, more futuristic sound perspective to the drone’s engine itself, rather than the air movement caused by the rotors. Mix those recordings with the MKH 8040 recordings to create your own blend of engine sounds: be it a drone, spaceship or other types of futuristic vehicles.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
