Vehicle sound effects and recordings – cars, helicopters, motorcycles, airplanes, ships, trains and sci-fi

  • Looking for electric car sounds? This library delivers 211 files / 162 minutes of stereo recordings of the BMW i3 electric vehicle.

The BMW i3 is a B-class, high-roof hatchback manufactured and marketed by BMW with an electric powertrain using rear wheel drive via a single-speed transmission. Its underfloor Li-ion battery pack is offered in two capacities as well as with an optional range-extending gasoline engine. The i3 was BMW’s first mass-produced zero emissions vehicle and was launched as part of BMW’s electric vehicle sub-brand, BMW i.

As of December 2016, the i3 ranked as the world’s third best selling all-electric car in history with more than 65,000 units sold since its inception.

This very quiet car has been recorded using onboard DPA-4060 microphones, to capture the engine and tyre sounds. The different surfaces are gravel, asphalt and rumble strips on the highway. The interior sounds have been recorded using the Zoom H5 XY microphone. There are also contact mic recordings of the wheel housing using Schaller mics.

Passby sounds have been recorded using Line Audio CM3’s in an XY setup as well as the Zoom H5 XY microphone. There are passes on dry and wet asphalt as well as gravel at different speeds.

Finally the engine has been recorded using the Elektrosluch electromagnetic microphone, resulting in 33 minutes of electromagnetic madness in 96 kHz.

I sincerely hope you will find this sound archive useful!

    Best,

    Morten

  • Sci-Fi Sound Effects SlipStream Play Track 425 sounds included, 34 mins total $115

    Welcome to SlipStream

SlipStream is a trailblazing science fiction elements and energy SFX library from Brin Sound. Its sounds will take you out of this world and into a detailed universe of science fiction, technomancy, extraterrestrial, and cyberpunk. This designed, UCS compliant, library will ignite your creativity with cutting edge elements for your show-stopping cinematic moments, or layer with your hard FX for the ultimate flavor crystal library. Designed scenes, events, whooshes, and impacts will bring your library to the cutting edge.

My career designing sound for games, film, and television has me on the hunt for the next great sounds. But no matter how many terabytes of sfx libraries I accumulate, creative weak spots emerge. SlipStream represents a ten month journey to create the library I needed most for my arsenal – an intricately abstract set of hybrid organic/synthetic modern sounds with fluidity, edge, flow, and tonality. I can’t wait to hear what you create with SlipStream!

  • Train Sound Effects Wooden Roller Coaster Play Track 50+ sounds included, 125 mins total $100

This is a sfx library of a classic wooden roller coaster built in 1932 that is in operation at Bakken theme park in Klampenborg, Denmark. It was recorded in 5 takes with four onboard microphones, multiple stereo rigs placed around the track and a 4 channel sps200 ambeo microphone placed in the middle of the coaster for the first two takes, above the cart in the station for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th takes, and the last take underneath the photobooth hill next to the station.

Sounds included are hill pass-bys, climbing, large bank turn, driving through tunnel, onboard sounds, and 4 channel atmos recording.

This is a great library for designing trains, subways, future machines, and of course, roller coasters. All are recordings contain no park patrons while the park was closed. On one or two of the recordings (while the cart is off mic ) has some light construction noise from park cleaners, this does not affect the usable and editable coaster sounds. I have included a few cut plane by’s and atmospheres that were picked up in-between takes.

If you are curious if a certain sound will work for you please send me a message at [email protected]

Wooden Roller Coaster was recorded with Sound Devices 788, Mixpre3, Zoom H4,H5,H6 with a variety of microphones from DPA, Sennheiser, Line Audio, Soundfield and with wind protection from Bubblebee Industries, Rycote and Cinela.

  • Ship Sound Effects Boat Horns Play Track 250 sounds included, 264 mins total From: $89

    Sound Tailor – Boat Horns

Imagine you had a real color palette when it comes to boat horn sounds. That is now possible with Sound Tailor Effects Library new release.

In the heart of Burgundy, in central France, we met with this passionate boat horn chaser and collector who has managed, through years of research, to acquire one of the largest boat horns collection in the world. They have the same length and can be easily combined for more sonic possibilities.

In addition, you get recordings of an air siren, custom made from a boat horn, and 5 edited loops of it, plus 3 different train steam whistles.

Boat Horns contains more than 22,41 GB / 252 Files.

  • I have been spending days at the local auto salvage yard, which is where our 4-wheeled friends end their days – and here's the result:

The Car Doors library gets you 78 mono door open/close sounds from 30 cars, and 6 car trunks, with multiple passes on each for soft and hard closes – all metadata tagged and ready to go!

Before the poor things were being torn apart for spares and placed on top of each other, I had the pleasure of recording a lot of their doors, opening and closing. As they were rubbish anyway, I could really put all my weight into the closing, and not being scared of the consequences. The sounds are from everyday cars, and some had a bit of rattle and rust, or cheap and thin kind of sound to them, others had some nice, heavy, and convincing thump, to them when they closed.

  • Distant Trains Sound Library delivers impressive multi-channel recordings of trains that pass by in a distance of at least 300 meters up to 1.5 kilometres.

Included are pass bys of freight, commuter and passenger trains plus single locomotives.
In order to capture the impressive walls of sound caused by passing trains an arrangement of 6 microphones was used. This setup encompasses stereo-pairs of MKH3040-MS, MKH8090-ORTF and MKH8040-WideAB. All pairs are recorded to separate files that are now available as time-aligned Reaper sets.
Each recording session took place at nights so that it was possible to capture extremely long approaches and tails that fade out to natural and calm night ambience without any disturbance by road traffic or other unwanted noises.

  • High quality unprocessed drone/quadcopter recorded using both binaural and mid-side microphone techniques. 4 different types of quadcopters were used in this sound library.

Gear: Neumann KU-100 binaural dummy head microphone, Schoeps mid-side setup (Schoeps CMC6 MK8, Schoeps, CCM M4, Sound Devices Mix-Pre 6)
