Horror Sound Effects

Scary, creepy, nasty horror sound effects and gore sounds

  • Gore Sound Effects Bloodbath (Sky) Play Track 1533 sounds included $49

The first sound effects library from Sky Melt Sound FX!

In search of crunchy and gross sounds, we made a our own gore library. From vegetables, fruit, eggs, dry and wet noodles, dog food and a variety of other sources, Bloodbath was born. Using the sounds as-is or manipulating them will have excellent results and we can’t wait to hear what kind of disgusting and brutal things you come up with using Bloodbath.

  • Spring Box is 13 minutes/453mb of shrieking, droning, scraping metallic sounds – made by bowing a steel spring bolted to an empty steel enclosure. 81 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz using Primo EM172 and JrF contact microphones. All files are UCS-compliant.

Here’s a collection of eerie sounds for your next horror/sci-fi/ambient project. Everything from low rumbling and rattling, to high pitched, harmonics-laden screams; long, drawn-out sounds and short dings and twangs. Of course they sound really good when pitched down, too (the last 3 sounds in the preview are shifted down to quarter speed)!

The Spring Box is an old 19 inch rack enclosure, which I gutted and fitted with two springs from a genuine Luxo lamp (so you know it’s good). I have been having fun bowing and scraping this with a cello bow, as well as striking it with various other objects. Some sounds are recorded acoustically, while others were done with contact mics.

    You get:

    • Steel spring sounds.
    • Long and atmospheric, as well as short and succinct.
    • Great pitch-shifting material.
    • Searchable file names

  • Horror Sound Effects Haunted House Play Track 165 sounds included, 41 mins total $20

A collection of spooky scary sounds, ideal for your video game, film, TV show, radio play or any other project. Mostly classic horror style.

  • This Double Bass & Violin sound effects library not only includes weird low double bass bow strokes, stabs, vibrating strings, drones, harsh harmonics, string scrapes, bow stroke voices, and bright violin tones and screams. It also includes the opportunity to open up a whole new set of sonic adventures.

Why? All double bass sounds have been recorded at 192K/24 bit, with an amazing stereo set of close up Sanken CO100K microphones, and a stereo set of Sennheiser Mkh 8020 microphones, capturing low end and room. All violin sounds have been recorded with a single Sanken CO100K microphone.

Common for all Sanken files is that you're able to either extreme time stretch/time compress, or pitch up and down the files, and by this discover a whole new world of sounds – without adding nasty degenerating artifacts or muffling the sound. The ultra-high frequency range of the Sanken microphones does really make a great difference!

Recordings these sounds was a pure blast. The amount of versatile organic material in the set is great. The bass instrument has been played in a very innovative way, using both regular bow on strings and bass body, but also finger cymbals attached to specific places for a vibrating ring or rattle noise, creating some really other-worldly sound effects, and almost vocal-like patterns.

While the double bass material produces a massive low end without any further processing, the violin recordings really benefit from being stretched and pitched. This makes all the non-audible bright sounds captured by the Sanken microphones come through.

All files are tagged and categorized for your convenience – supporting tag filtering browsing applications.

  • Creature Sound Effects Outward Inversion Play Track 593+ sounds included, 151 mins total $20

From creating the breath of a behemoth, to the palpable aura of an ambiance, this is a plethora of contact mic goodness providing you with frequency-deep content for layering, embellishing, bolstering, and new sound creation.

Contact mics are delicate creatures. They can give you insights into the most excitable yet unheard facets of a soundscape, and then almost immediately get destroyed by the slightest of impacts. We’re just going to forget about how many incredible captures were thrown out of the running for this library due to such slight disruptions, and instead focus on the positive: this is a huge collection of super flexible, totally malleable sounds. One of our favorite libraries to make because it satisfied the inner tinkerer’s ear, Outward Inversion is our microscope applied to the aural world.

  • Drones & Mood Sound Effects Aberrant Drones Play Track 79 sounds included, 409 mins total $50

Discover nearly 7 hours of individually flavoured, hauntingly musical and ever-evolving drones, packaged neatly into 79 of the kind of audio files that you can never have enough of.

In many ways, Aberrant Drones is the sister library of the Augmentation Elements library, as it provides you with the creative tools required to augment your sound design.

Whilst the Augmentation Elements library arms you with tools such as whooshes, risers and stings, allowing you to sweeten specific elements of your sound design, the Aberrant Drones library allows you to augment the mood of an entire scene. Each audio file is populated with richly descriptive SoundMiner metadata, making it easier than ever before to sift through hours of abstract drones.

This is why the metadata is usually described in terms of feeling and mood, like so:

    Drone,Sci-Fi,Abstract,Cacophonous,Glowing,Impending Doom
    Drone,Sci-Fi,Abstract,Textured,Vibrating,Oscillating,Anxiety

Augment your creative tool-box with Aberrant Drones, and transform your sound design work!

If you have any questions about this library, feel free to quickly send me an e-mail. I tend to reply within minutes.
  • Frustration. You’ve spent hours on a project, only to end up with a sound scape that feels incomplete. The action scene feels empty, the weapons don’t sound heavy enough, the transitions don’t pack enough of a punch, the space ship doesn’t feel large enough and the monsters aren’t sufficiently scary.

The Augmentation Elements library has been built with this problem in mind. Due to the library’s abstract nature, the Risers, Stings, Swells and Whooshes can be molded and manipulated into adding that missing element that you’re looking for, and sweetening the whole mix.

In order to save you time and help you quickly find the sounds that you need, SoundMiner metadata has been carefully created for each individual file. There are no ‘Scream, 1’ and ‘Scream, 2’ in this library! Every single file is individually described, and the use of numbers is not employed!

Have a look at the metadata list further down the page!

Now, Your futuristic energy weapons don’t sound full enough? Try layering some of the stings and swells underneath them.

That large space ship doesn’t seem large enough? Grab some whooshes and pan them to your heart’s delight.

The alien doesn’t sound scary enough? Some of the stings sound eerily close to vocalizations. Grab them and run wild.

Are crucial transitions in your film lacking punch? Drag some of those risers into your DAW and see which one fits best!

If you have any questions about this library, feel free to quickly send me an e-mail. I tend to reply within minutes.

  • Audiobeast is proud to present our second sample library; the only library of its kind to focus entirely on weapons being fired in urban environments!  For this recording session we were given access to a military training site known as a FIBUA (Fighting In Built-Up Area) consisting of streets with a variety of buildings, vehicles, and exclusive permission to fire weapons in several locations.  Pictures of the street and gas station locations and firing points are included.

The aim of this library was to offer the slapback type tails needed for gun sound design for convincing city scenes in film, games and tv production.  It’s always been difficult to find gun recordings in a city environment so we hope this library helps sound people everywhere.

This Library contains over 3 GBs of weapons being fired in multiple urban environments, a street, outside of a gas station and inside of a tower block. 218 WAV files of single shots, bursts and many with multiple takes, all recorded at 96 khz 24 bit, with heaps of information on microphones used and distance from the firearms.

Various distances were captured, from the DPA4062 on the guns themselves, to the distant other end of the street 100 metres away. To add, some mics were positioned around corners, a nearby graveyard, through walls and in armored vehicles to capture a variety of perspectives.

Minimal cleanup on the recordings was carried out very carefully so as not to introduce any artefacts into the recordings, they are presented as raw as possible.

If you need a wider selection of interior gun recordings please check out our first library – The London Warehouse Firearms library
