  • This flamboyant and diverse library is a collection of recordings of air flows, leaks, bursts, plops, hisses, wooshes, suctions and blows.

I started recording these noises when I needed a basis for a magic spell sound and then realized that the sounds also work very well as a layer in fly bys (or all kind of pass bys), weapons / bullets and other sci fi elements like doors & machines. And of course you can use the sounds for the objects that emitted them.

A lot of objects were recorded that first come on everyones mind, like canned air / co2, bicycle pumps, boat pumps and the opening of soda bottles. But also more exceptional products were captured, like a fog machine, syringes, medical nebulator / inhaler and more. I also recorded quite a lot of vents, fans, hvac and some more tonal whistles or water boilers like the famous Alessi.
There are also air releases into water, so a lot of wet textures, spray paint, desinfection spray ( and all kind of plastic bottles with various sealing caps and and and.

One of my favourite sounds in this collection is a malfunctioning garden hose. Air flow leaked through a tiny hole and depending on the pressure my hand put on the ventile different tones and sounds occured.

The selection offers everything from very short, to medium long sounds, loops and long air releases.

Most sounds were recorded from multiple mic perspectives. While the directional mics deliver clean direct sounds, omnidirectional Eartworks QTC50 capture high frequency sounds up to above 80kHz, that invite to pitch or slow down the sounds and create otherworldy atmospheres or woosh sounds. Some sounds were also recorded underwater with an ASF1 hydrophone.

The naming structure is UCS compliant.

  • “The Shoe Collection: Dirt- Barefoot“ by Periscope Post & Audio, provides 22 high quality footsteps files in dirt with barefeet.  The audio files are recorded at 24bit, 192k with mono and stereo recordings.  The Sennheiser MKH-60 was used for the mono files with a slightly more distant mic placement than the stereo files, which were recorded with the Sennheiser MKH8050 and the Sennheiser MKH-30 near the shoe.  From different walking speeds, to jogging, sprinting, jumping, hard stops, scuffs, and more!  There are several performances with each file to fit the right action you need.  That’s a whopping 304 footsteps between the mono and stereo files!

These sound files are also UCS metadata tagged

  • Mechanical Sound Effects MicroMech Play Track 1800+ sounds included, 72 mins total $40

MicroMech is an expressive collection of tiny, non-motorized mechanisms.

Recorded by Nathan Moody in great ultrasonic detail, this collection of quiet and delicate sounds can become robotic limbs or fingers, weapon mechanisms, gun reloads, crafting or equipping sounds in a game, high-tech gadgets, superhero armor, clockwork steampunk artifacts, door latches, or any other metallic articulations you can think of.

It pairs perfectly with Studio Obsidian’s Analogue Ordnance library for high-tech weaponry mechanism sounds.

An hour of clicks, rattles, ratchets, trills, clacks, and slides will fill your sonic projects with mechanical filigree and mechanized finesse. Props include antique and vintage cameras, can openers, dictaphones, high-end fidget toys, and much more. Each recording in MicroMech has many performance variations, making them perfect for game audio projects.

All sounds were recorded dry with a hypercardioid microphone and an ultrasonic-capable omni microphone into Millennia preamps, blended together for a punchy, full-range tone while preserving ultrasonic content.

Get big sounds from small sources with MicroMech!

  • Over 375 sounds of creaking and cracking materials, including breaking cables, ropes under tension and about to split, wires and strings under stress, metal friction causing tension. Recorded with a combination of Sanken CO100K and Nevaton microphones for full frequency sound content. Saved as 192KHz these files allow for high resolution editing. Useful for impact sounds in cinema, games or documentary, but also for cartoon sounds or even creature sounds as many of the recordings contain vowel-like screeching and scraping.

Imagine a scene where a rope is about to break over an edge, an object being torn by a huge cable, a wooden structure about to collapse under stress and so on… Our brain is triggered by those rattling sounds or spine-breaking cracks coming from little fibers being split apart, parts of the structure creaking, wires scraping over edges…

These sounds can be perceived as delicate but have a great psychological impact as we interpret these and know what is about to happen. So suspense is built with both background and close-up sounds. Useful when building tension, when creating a sense of upcoming climax, these sonic elements will work out to amplify the details that are often important but not always visible for the eye.

All the source material and recording are acoustic, there are no digital effects applied. This guarantees natural organic harmonics, even way beyond our hearing. Pitching down the 192 KHz files will let you discover another collection of sounds!

You can find the following libraries in this collection >

Push & Pull, Heavy Weight, Acoustic Low Frequency Movements
    Push Pull Heavy Weight
