Mechanical Sound Effects

  • Environments & Ambiences Tick Tock Play Track 25+ sounds included, 25 mins total $26

Tick Tock contains a wide range of loopable clock ticking sounds, meticulously crafted from recordings of antique clocks, machines, victorian equipment, the human body, and household items by our award-winning Sound Designers.

These sounds are perfect for adding unique clock effects to your library and projects.  All effects were recorded in 24Bit 96kHz, allowing for further sonic manipulation.

If you’re tired of using the same, mundane clock sounds, then this library is for you! Tick Tock is ideal for use in Film, TV and Game projects, and will make a perfect addition to your sound design arsenal.

  • There are a lot of door sound libraries but I was missing the key sounds with variations on a project two years ago. After that, I started specifically recording key and lock sounds whenever I heared an interesting door or lid. I tried to capture the four most common performances (put the key in, remove the key, open the lock and close the lock) each at different speed (slow, medium, fast). This is a selection from these recordings. Some are captured in 192kHz with Earthworks QTC 50 to capture high frequencies, waiting to be pitched down several octaves and still remaining crispy.
There are little locks from piggy banks and caskets, wooden cabinets, metal lockers, appartment doors with plastic keys, locks on regular homes and much more.
In addition I added a few key drops on different surfaces (mats, parquet flooring, tiles, concrete…) and jingles.

  • Mechanical Sound Effects Fan Play Track 16+ sounds included, 42 mins total $15

This fan sound effects library delivers the sounds of a floor fan, a wall-mounted bathroom fan and a hairdryer. It includes sounds such as starts, stops, idle and fans at different speed levels. Need the sounds of actual fans, motors, whirling winds – or imagined flying vehicles – that's what you get 42 minutes of right here.

  • SHHhhhhh… They are listening…

282 strange, ghostly and spy-like sounds collected from 2 old analog dictaphones, 1 portable cassette recorder, 1 very small digital dictaphone, 3 portable modern recorders, 1 video cam, and finally 1 very famous portable Reel to Reel recorder (a Nagra IS).

The Undercover Sound FX Library Contains:

    • 136 tracks of, Microphone bumps, lav. Microphone put on clothes, Microphone Feedback, Microphone Noises, and the sounds of the inside of a video cams Mechanics.
    • 41 tracks of, Dictaphone & Cassette Processed (Kyma, GRM Tools, SoundToys) Sounds, weird telephone answering machine noises, Buttons, Play, Rewinds, and Fast Forward sounds.
    • 82 Reel To Reel sounds. Buttons, Tape on, Rewinds/Fast forwards, Manual searching and scratches, where the recorded sounds are heard through the internal speaker of the tape recorder, as well as recorded line out.
    • 23 Various processed (Kyma, GRM Tools, SoundToys) sounds. Different stuff speed up, and mangled.

Many of the recorded sounds have been re-recorded on to tape to get that smooth analog sound. Especially the feedback sounds, and bumps benefit from this technique, but also ambience sounds recorded onto a over used 5″ tape has a certain undercover sound to them!

  • Environments & Ambiences Industrial Warehouse Play Track 11 sounds included, 55 mins total $20

The sounds contained in this library will also work fantastic as foley pieces to spice up fights, robot movement, crashes or any action scene for that matter.

Some of the sounds found in the library make use of a contact microphone to add to the lower end frequency that would simply not translate using just a shotgun microphone.

    WHAT SOUND PROFESSIONALS SAY:

Philip Eriksson – Audio Director (It Takes Two, Battlefield V, Star Wars: Battlefront I & II)
“Slava has some pretty kick ass sound libraries!”

Victor Mercader – AAA Sound Designer (Apex Legends)
“I find myself continuously using Slava’s SFX libraries to blend it’s pristine and detailed sound designs into my own sounds. They always add that cutting edge I am missing and make my sound designs more unique and pristine.”

Enos Desjardins – Sound Designer/Sound Effects Editor (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Black Mirror)
“Slava has been creating some really cool libraries which I find myself using time and again. Really high quality recordings to start with but then the cool processing he has used for example in his cinematic whoosh libraries really stand out. They are not just your standard generic whoosh sounds but are loaded with character and have a unique feel to them that is really fresh and cuts through in the nicest of ways.”

Bjørn Jacobsen – AAA Sound Designer (CyberPunk 2077, HITMAN, DARQ)
“Slava has for several years made high quality sound effects for me to play with. I use his sound libraries across multiple projects as lego blocks of my creations.”

  • Mechanical Sound Effects Clockwork Play Track 933+ sounds included, 722 mins total $38

There are few, if any, other mechanical devices that have existed more ubiquitously alongside modern humans than time pieces. They are intricate, precise, and complex, made in as many styles and designs as the mind can imagine, all of which sound incredible, making them a sound designer’s dream.

We profiled 12 clocks using a superposition technique, identifying and pinpointing specific parts and perspectives of each piece. Additionally, we’ve added an extra bonus clock that was not fully profiled, but just sounded too good to leave out. Each clock has a stereo (MidSide) capture and a series of mono channel spot recordings. Layer ’em, mix ’em, and match ’em up in whichever way you see fit.

    Clocks include:

    • Slava 5498 split stopwatch (1960s)
    • Elgin 540 pocket watch (1939)
    • Custom Wooden Gear wall clock (New)
    • Forestville alarm clock (1960s)
    • Herschede mantle clock (1940s)
    • National CCC mantle clock (1890s)
    • Seth Thomas mantle clock (1920s)
    • Schwarzwalder Uhren AS cuckoo clock (1970s)
    • Howard Miller grandfather clock (1990s)
    • Ridgeway grandfather clock (1980s)
    • Unknown (Waterbury?) wall clock (Late 1800s)
    • Custom-built clocktower (1920s)

    Focused mechanics and components include:

Ticking at the escapement, winding of various arbors, balance wheels and hairsprings, chimes, bells, gong wires, and hammers, fan flies, weights, action keys, locks, doors, and bellows

The detail, precision, and tactility of these assets are like sonic chamomile for the mind. Alongside the power and resonance of the gongs, chimes, and bells, the juxtaposition of these different tonal textures make for a wonderfully dynamic collection.

Sounds that activate some of the deepest parts of our brain’s functioning, the content of Clockwork is simultaneously widely utilitarian and deeply innate. No matter your project, it’s time to dive in.

  • Environments & Ambiences California Grassland Abandoned Play Track 111 sounds included, 84 mins total From: $70

California Grassland Abandoned is a collection of 65 Stereo and 18 Quad Recordings focused on Abandoned old structures, various Int / Ext Winds, Metal Latches, Gates, Wood Creaks, and an assortment of other interesting sounds.

The recordings from this library took place in The Carrizo Plain, an open expanse of Grassland that is located West of the Mojave Desert in California’s Central Valley. Abandoned and weathered dilapidated remnants of old ranches, water tanks, barns, metal sheds, farm machinery, and corrals from a bygone era of the West can be discovered if one ventures off the beaten path.

An old rusted corral gate’s latches, hinges, locks, and ronks.  A 1950 Ford Truck’s wild sound door creaks.  The still quiet of morning ambiences.  A very animated barn door.  A water tank in the middle of no man’s land bending and booming as the elements of nature have their way.  Calm, medium, and higher winds in metal sheds, small houses, barns, tall dry grass, and in some exterior locations out in the Plain.

The goal was to try to capture anything I could that had a lot of character along with providing a sense of what a lot these areas sound like.  These recordings aren’t meant to be absolutely desolate so in a few of the wind and ambience tracks there is some light birds, and sometimes a few insects.

The companion library to this, California Grassland Wildlife contains a number of different bird species and a couple of other animals and insects native to the environment.
