Materials & Texture Sound Effects

Sound effects and recordings of various surfaces, textures, objects and elements – soft, hard, organic, wooden, stone, metallic and lots more

  • ‘Tackle Box’ by Badlands Sound features 155 sound effects of various sounds of an old metal tackle box. This library will be a great addition to add more fishing sound effects in a video game or at small metal sounds in a film. Some sounds include opening and closing tackle box, rustling around looking for specific fishing accessories, grabbing different types of lures, and much more!
All of these sounds were recorded with high-quality professional equipment inside my studio. Recorded with Sound Devices 702t and Sennheiser MKH 8040 – 94k 24 bit.

  • The Junkyard Metal sound library includes 3183 clips in 98.49 GB. It collects the sound of metal hits, drops, pick ups, rattles and clatters, rumbles and rummaging, rocking, rolling, and scraping.

Featuring diverse props ranging from large metal storage containers, diesel tanks, shopping carts, and tractor buckets to to smaller propane tanks, crates, shopping carts, and bolts, nails, and ammunition, the collection provides multiple performances in each clip.

The sounds were performed from light to heavy intensities and captured at 192 kHz, 24-bit resolution with Sanken, Sennheiser, Neumann, and Schoeps microphones.

The bundle is delivered with Pro Tools and Reaper mixing sessions, full professional embedded metadata, and metadata keyword import files in 7 languages.

  • The Body Pack 01: Humanoid contains over 80 minutes (554 files) of high quality body falls, impacts & lands on multiple surface types.

The assets have been designed for use with computer game media that demands high asset variations, however this pack is suited for all forms of audio media.

The included basic construction kit / original recordings enables further body fall details to be created for more granular focus.

All assets have been recorded & produced at 96kHz/24bit.
    Included in this pack:

    • Individual Body Fall, Lands and Impacts designed assets
    • Designed assets feature between 2>5 armour types: Chain-mail, Cloth, Leather, No Armour & Segmented
    • Sets of individual body designed assets (3>10 of the individual designed assets in one file)
    • Surface types: Concrete, Grass, Gravel, Leaves, Metal, Pebbles, Rock, Sand, Snow, Undergrowth, Wood & Water
    • Basic construction kits of the original body fall recording with 2 microphone versions (further creation detail can be added with our Armour Pack 01: Humanoid)
    • Bonus content – Surface texture pack: Grass, Leaves, Metal, Pebbles, Sand, Snow & Undergrowth, with various sweetener actions including 2 different mic tracks for each texture listed (excluding metal)
  • BREAKDOWN ELEMENTS | A bold collection of sound effects for visual effects breakdowns.

Our objective was to create a unique and easy-to-use selection of sound effects that takes an entirely different approach to cliche synthesized sci-fi sound effects.

The majority of elements have originated from organic field recordings that have been elegantly manipulated into a wild new form, achieving a natural, physical vibe for each sound.

The collection is structured into eight categories: BED, BUILD, IMPACT, INTERFERENCE, REWIND, RISER, TRANSITION and WHOOSH. Each element has been designed to work both by itself or layered to produce more complex textures. Additionally, each element has 4-6 variations to maximise versatility.

All sounds are royalty free and equipped with comprehensive Soundminer metadata for rapid access.

  • The Boom, Crackle and Scream library is the first in a planned series of Glitch Factory mini libraries.  This library uses sounds recorded of Fireworks ranging from large booms to small sparklers and mangles them into interesting textures in varying degrees.

The sounds have been manipulated using analog synthesizers, custom Reaktor instruments and other types of granular processing.  They will work well for Sci-Fi weapon layers, user interface sounds and more.

  • Destruction & Impact Sounds IMPACTUS Play Track 423 sounds included $17.40

A massive collection of 423 impacts, smashes, hits and explosions.

24-bit impacts, recorded and designed with ice, glass, metal, water, wood and other sources. Clean and processed, from small wood knocks to massive designed bomb blasts and deep pulses.

All sounds were recorded or designed at 24-bit 96kHz, with embedded meta data.

  • The sound library that you didn’t know you needed, a collection of electromagnetic sounds presented in Ultra-HD 24-bit 192k resolution. First a little science lesson: All Electric devices produce a magnetic field. Usually, you don’t hear this field. And you can’t record it with a normal microphone. You need to use an induction coil pickup. These pickups are commonly used to record telephone conversations. But, hold them up to an electric device and all sorts of chaos ensues.

This library features various motors recorded with an induction coil pickup, as well as TVs, mobile phones, car ignitions, light bulbs, you name it. Many items that you use everyday give off amazing magnetic fields and we happily recorded as many as we could. The second half of this library is all synth sounds that, at times, sound even more electric than the real stuff.

  • Paper Sound Effects Paperlife Play Track 1300+ sounds included, 110 mins total $70

Paperlife contains a huge variety of different paper and cardboard sound effects. We folded, ripped, rustled, crackled, swished, whooshed, flapped, turned, threw, sizzled paper and cardbord to create this library.

Beside the massive amount of unusual sounds we also took care about usability and created “every day” paper sound effects and handling noises for out-of-the-box use.

As always, all files come with burned in metadata in open standards.

  • Horror Sound Effects Squeaks and Creaks Two Play Track 1000+ sounds included, 113 mins total $40

A big new collection of squeaking and creaking sounds – nearly two hours in total, from a wide range of sources.

Includes sounds from sources such as:

Shower glass, metal hinges, garage doors, office chairs, plastic handles, rusty ladders, wooden doors, styrofoam, running shoes, bottle corks, plastic containers, medicine cabinets, rubber gloves, plastic bottles, metal coathangers, rusty pipes, wood deckboard, metal springs, plastic straws, wooden baskets, small metal doors, roll-up curtains, large wooden gates, wood floors, metal wheels, screen doors, sliding doors, metal locker doors, rubber extension cords and more.

  • Need some massive windshield impacts and glass smashing sounds?

‘The Windshield’ sound effects library is the first installment in a new ‘Car Damages Collection’ from Red Libraries – and it delivers wild glass destruction, captured from actual windshields breaking.

It contains than 170 impacts, crunches and explosive sounds of laminated glass. Neutral acoustics and adjusted width allows you to easily manipulate and integrate the various elements. It also comes with contact microphone layers to get you fine, extra detail to your glass breaking textures and impacts.

Have a truly smashing time with The Windshield!

  • Transmission apparatus is a construction kit designed to create a broad range of communication sounds, from real to “alien” broadcasting signals.

The library contains more than 2 GB of data, delivered in 373 files of unique sound material. It’s catalogued in five elements: AM (amplitude modulation), FM (frequency modulation), SSB (single side band – aka ham radio), KYMA (synthesised noises) and VOCAL (unintelligible speeches).

The first three bands were recorded from the output of different radio receivers at 96 kHz via a Crane Song HEDD (Harmonically Enhanced Digital Device) to add warmth and tube/analog sonic color to the recordings. All the samples have been carefully selected from these recording sessions, with the addition of just a little dsp processing to widen the stereo field.

The Kyma folder also contains unique audio files entirely synthesised in the SSC Kyma+Paca(rana) environment. A group of SFX called Vocal is the result of “destroyed” dialogues and vocal sources via spectral processing.

Transmission Apparatus is available in two versions:

96 kHz .WAV version• Audio Format: Broadcast Wave Files (.wav)
    • Bit Depth: 24-bit Size: 2.49 GB
    • Download size is 1.82 GB (compressed .rar archive)

Native Instruments Kontakt 5 version• Audio Format: NI Instruments File (.nki)
    • Sample Rate: 96 kHz
    • Bit Depth: 24-bit Size: 1.66 GB
    • Download size is 1.64 GB (compressed .rar archive)
    • Full version of NI Kontakt 5 required

  • This library features recordings created using a “Knas Ekdahl Moisturizer”, a boutique spring reverb effects unit where three reverb springs are exposed, allowing them to be hit, played, and manipulated in real time.

The unit also includes a multi-mode analog filter, and when combined with the playability of the springs, opens up many sound creation options.

The result is a unique sound effect library of massive metallic hits, clangs, scrapes, plucks, bounces, and rattles. The springs were played like a percussion instrument, using a collection of found objects, such as hammers, mallets, allen wrenches, forks, and plastic / metal rods. The springs were also stretched to alter the pitch, and objects were placed on the springs, much like a prepared piano, to alter the sound.

No other effects were applied other than the built-in multimode filter (high pass, low pass, band pass, and resonance) on certain sounds. These include sub-sonic hits, sweeping filtered metallic scrapes, and drones that round out the collection.

  • Bundles Beautiful Bells Bundle Play Track 2000+ sounds included, 358 mins total $200

Discover one of the biggest collections of bells ever recorded with nearly 6 hours of sound.

Beautiful Bells BUNDLE contains the solo ringing of 76 swinging bells and 135 stationary bells, captured in 62 bell towers, carillons, chapels, churches, cathedrals, basilicas and clock towers across France, with unprecedented quality. Most of the sounds were recorded inside bell towers.

Swinging bells are struck by a hanging clapper. They have a natural pitch modulation due to the Doppler effect, and a timbre modulation due to varying orientation. They produce a deep and lively sound and are mostly used to announce masses, religious holidays, weddings and funerals.

Stationary bells are struck by external hammers. They have a steady and rich tone, with a long sustain. They are mostly used as musical instruments in carillons, to indicate the hour in clock chimes or to alert the population in tocsins.

Every bell size and pitch is represented in this library, from huge 10 ton bourdon to tiny carillon bells weighing a few kilograms. You will find bells founded from 14th to 21st century with a great variety of timbres and tunings, over a range of more than 5 octaves. The sounds are sorted by note from D2 to G7.

The library contains 2 carillons with 54 bells and 10 bells, available as sound files and virtual instruments (NI Kontakt and EXS24 with round robin).

You will also get 15 peals of multiple bells, called plenum.

By sorting the solo sounds by location, you can recreate authentic bell combinations. You also have the freedom to create any custom combination or use the sounds as instruments in musical scores.

All the sounds in this library were recorded in bell towers or as close as possible to provide great sonic precision and optimal signal-to-noise ratio.

Over 12,000 kilometers were traveled during six months to get you one of the most exhaustive swinging bell collection ever recorded.

  • Destruction Zone library brings 1570+ HQ audio material, centered around debris and destruction sound effects. We spent great lengths of time recording on-site, in metal scrap yards and quarry mines, construction sites, and a tank graveyard, and we had fun popping balloons, dropping firecrackers into canyons, and sending barrels rolling downhill.

In the studio, we recorded a wide range of materials, covering everything from dust and gravel drops to glass breaks and porcelain smashes and we even recreated volcanic rockslides using authentic rock pieces from Etna volcano (Italy).

The highlights of our Destruction Zone library include high car drops using cranes and clarks, car window breaks using sledgehammers (what a stress relief 🙂 ), the reverberated pops of balloons and firecrackers in one of our beautiful local canyons, sounds of an old corroded metal barrel being thrown downhill and “meticulously vandalized” in order to capture larger than life rolling textures, metal impact, and loud squeaks.

In addition to those raw material-based sounds, we included a number of designed sounds of low-frequency impacts, rumble drones, and different types of ground movements and disaster scenarios, such as rockfalls, mud and lava flows, landslides, earthquakes, avalanches, building collapses, car crashes, and explosions – all you need to design the Second Coming and beyond…

Our motivation behind this collection is to offer opportunities for:

Creating your own mixture of debris sounds
Using our pre-designed mixes unaltered to create the ambiance of weather phenomena, natural disasters, or structural failures and collapses.
