All Sounds were recorded with Sennheiser MKH8050 + Ambient Emesser 208 MS-Rig in a Sound Devices 744T and 788T and also with a Sony PCM-D100.
Old Cameras sound library features 69 recordings of different camera related activities. 13 different cameras were recorded with two MKH 8040s in 192kHz. Total length of the files is 52 minutes. Inside you’ll find sound effects like rewinding film, pulling different levers, rotating dials, shutter effects, handling noises, lens focus rings and aperture clicks, polaroid mechanism and more.
The Blacksmith Sound Effects Library features 800 files with over 1000 sounds, recorded at a one-day visit to an old forge from the last millennium. You get tons of hammering metal on an anvil of course but also many other typical forge sounds, as well as more unusual sonic experiences. Mostly metallic sounds – from tools handling, metal hits, drops, clank of chains to vibrating metal poles, rattling cranks, wooden hatches and much more.
All sounds were recorded in MS using a Sennheiser MKH-8050 + Ambient ATE 208 going in a Sound Devices 788T in 192kHz and 24Bit. The sounds are cleaned and edited for direct use. All mastered and decoded to stereo for instant use.
Break’n’Shards is a high-resolution, ultrasonic-grade library about much more than hitting and breaking. Its also about shards: stepping, jumping and stomping, friction sliding, scooping up, pouring ground and more. Bright, sharp, screeching and crackling delicate details.
The Metal Contact sound library features the recordings of various metal surfaces tortured with different tools. From touching things with fingers, through hitting with metal bars and up to using blenders or magnets to cause the materials to resonate.
While recording this library my goal was to cover different needs, not only for sound designers but also editors. Scrapes and squeaks were recorded with different intensity and speeds, just like the impacts. From soft and quiet, through medium up to loud and reverberant ones.
In addition to the regular approach of just touching, hitting and scraping metal parts, I’ve decided to record few experimental sound effects. Listening to the tons of water flowing through a dam, by sticking the microphones to the building’s wall? You got it. Messing with guitar strings using a blender and magnets? It’s here. Throwing coins and different metal parts inside cast iron cooking dish? No problem!
Different lids, cast iron dishes, metal pots, baking forms and sheets, bullet catcher, different boxes, cooking oven, sinks, fan, pans, grills, coins, small tools, different jugs, electric guitar, buckets, washing machine, metal parts, old doors and walls, road sign, handrails, cages and much more.

That’s right, a slap bracelet.
As with Vaeyan I, II, and III, this is a huddling of field recordings and sound designs that do not quite form a library on their own. However, together they make up an audio FX treasure chest gleaming with gold and silver audio loot!
Get 500 sound effects of mainly metal and wood impacts, metal junk hits, crashes, heavy door slams, metal drops, metal wall and oil tank hits in this SFX library.
All sounds were recorded with a RODE NTG-3, a RODE NT-4 and a Beyerdynamic MC950 microphone on a Sound Devices 744T (+ SD MixPre-D). Each sound was heavily edited and cleaned, so there is no noise or other unwanted sounds. The sounds were layered, EQed and compressed for that extra punch – so they can be instantly used to sonically treat your medieval and sci fi battles, fighting and walking robots and anything else that needs some heavy metal treatment.
You can use the sounds right away. No further editing needed. But you can, of course… :)
Mechanical clicks dials and winding from Retro and Vintage cameras and film printing from a polaroid camera that can easily be used in any project.
I left in some movement sounds to help create a naturalistic handling of film cameras but can be easily isolated as recorded in a clean environment.
recorded and exported in 24/192khz
All metadata tagged and updated using the Universal Category System in Soundly
This library was created to provide designers with drag and drop sounds for sweeps, fades, surges, swells, and other embellishments. Each of the sounds in this collection were designed to be used to heighten events, but they can be mashed, stacked, and chopped to create all sorts of eclectic designs. There are plays on musical concepts as well as thematic events, with each sound purposefully building up, culminating in a peak moment, and then dissipating in some way. They are organized into 100 families (designs) with 5 variations each, ranging wildly in topic, movement, duration, dynamics, attack, release, loudness, density, and speed. Some are natural and organic while others are completely rigid and synthetic (and some fall variably in between).
If you need to festoon the heck out of a scene or event in your project…If you need some complex SFX designs craftily layered and ready-to-go…If you need a diverse set of easy-to-tweak, overflowing sonic enrichment, then look no further. You’ve found it.
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
