Electromagnetic Drones is a collection of 171 recordings that capture the invisible electromagnetic landscape produced by electronic devices. Using the Soma Ether, a specialized wide-band receiver, we captured hums, pulses, and static produced by phones, microwaves, fridges, TVs, computers, Wi-Fi routers, and more. Unlike traditional radios that filter out interference, Ether acts as an “anti-radio,” capturing a broad spectrum of electromagnetic activity from hertz to gigahertz, revealing the sonic textures generated by electronic equipment.
The library features both raw recordings directly from the Soma Ether device, as well as designed sounds, giving you a versatile range of textures to work with. These recordings were transformed into deep, evolving drones, ranging from gritty industrial hums and eerie, synth-like tones to rhythmic machine pulses and dissonant, unsettling tones.
Captured at 192kHz, these sounds maintain exceptional clarity, allowing for extreme pitch manipulation and creative sound processing. With its dark, atmospheric qualities, Electromagnetic Drones is well-suited for horror, suspense, drama, sci-fi, and experimental sound design in film, television, and video games. Whether you need haunting ambiences, dystopian textures, or immersive low-frequency drones, this collection provides a rich sonic palette drawn from sounds of the electromagnetic world.

Racing Vehicles Pass-By Bundle compiles seven hours and twenty-six minutes of sports cars at a racetrack, including quiet practice sessions and main series events with minimal crowd conversations or unnecessary background noise, and a speaker narrating certain competitions. Recorded at three distinct locations, this bundle includes long takes at the finish line and on the tightest corner of this particular racetrack, capturing plenty of engines revving, drifting and cars driving off into the distance, ideal for media scenes set in these environments, or for creative sound design purposes, as these takes were recorded at only five meters from the vehicles themselves. Also included are recordings of engines revving in the pit lane before the competitions.
Sports cars series included on this bundle are the following:

Streetscape is an extremely focused urban ambience library: It features nearly two hours of exterior stereo recordings of only a few city blocks, portraying a gritty and dense urban setting, perfect for any urban thriller, modern noir, or cyberpunk project.
Recorded four stories above street level in San Francisco, articulate details are balanced with natural diffusion and slapback in this dense urban corridor, allowing the recordings to sit in a mix with definition but without distraction. The recordings are between three and nine minutes long, have UCS-compliant filenames and metadata, and are provided with markers describing significant sound events. They have been carefully curated to not have any music from radios inside passing vehicles or local businesses, no wind, only adult voices, and only a handful of birds can be heard in a few of the recordings.
The ambiences range from quiet and sparse to vibrant and active, with shouts and murmurs between car pass-bys and other events, echoing off the buildings crowded together like uninterrupted canyon walls. The city comes to life through the clanks of truck lift gates, rattling manhole covers, skateboard wheels over sidewalks, and even open grates down to the subway below, emitting an infamous “howl” as the train cars pass underground. Conversations, arguments, vehicular beeps, garbage trucks, electric buses, motorcycles, hydraulic brake releases, jackhammers, police sirens, car alarms, and more provide textures and specific sounds useful for any story set in a big city.
Whether used as full beds or sliced up into specific sound events, Streetscape can help build a dynamic, lived-in city soundscape for your film, show, or game.

This collection has over four hours of streams, rivers, and waterfalls, all recorded without birds or man-made noise. The 91 recordings offer a variety of perspectives, from close-up to distant, highlighting the natural gurgles and splashes. Everything was recorded in northern Norway, Belgium, and northern France.
I created this collection primarily for myself, aware of the many Rivers and Streams libraries out there, but I couldn’t resist sharing it after enjoying the recording process so much. The sounds capture everything from the intense rush of water just above the roaring rapids to the gentle flow of rivers hundreds of meters away. In quiet natural environments, the sound of flowing water can be heard from very far and this really impacts the soundscape in a beautiful way. I also designed some waterfall samples, focusing on texture to avoid the typical pink noise. These additions sound powerful yet natural. There are also low-end recordings of a large waterfall, captured between rock formations, which deliver a deep roar with minimal high frequencies—perfect for enhancing water sounds.
Many of the recordings were captured during a 30-day hiking trip through the northernmost parts of Norway. Crossing rivers without bridges was a significant part of the journey, and these sounds instantly take me back there, wet feet and all. I hope you’ll find them useful!

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
