Bells and chimes are useful in sound design and music production as they are adding organic vibes to your sound.
For this purpose, many esoteric bells and chimes were recorded from various angles, dynamics and with pristine sound quality.
Here you will find not only traditional bells (used in hotels or boats), but also exotic Chinese and Tibetan bells, wind chimes of different sizes and esoteric tuned resonators that generate unusual harmonies and soundscapes.
This is also a great library for further processing, pitch mangling, granulation and sound experimenting.

The Crash & Smash sound effects library contains over 1110 sounds of destruction. For this collection I went on a rampage at several junk yards around my hometown, collecting a vast amount of crash sound effects. This one is highly focused more on crashing sounds with all the rumble and debris, giving you hundreds of variations of glass smashes, rolling stones and stone hits, wood breaks and impacts and metal crashes.
As usual the sounds come perfectly cleaned and edited so you can instantly place them in your timeline or design new sounds with it. Of course they also got some EQ and compression treatment but weren’t further “designed”, so you have nice and flexible source material for your own productions.
All sounds come with embedded Soundminer Metadata sorted in subfolders for:• Glass
• Metal
• Stone
• Wood
• Plastic

Thermal Flux is a sound effects library formed by extreme temperature reactions. With materials ranging from -119°F to 1900°F all captured at 192kHz/24bit, it’s a fiery (and icy) collection of unique sound design source material.
In each recording, props with vast temperature differentials interact with each other… Red hot ball bearings vaporize liquids, melt ice, and destroy various household products. Extremely cold metal instantly freezes water. Molten metals and glass pour into water, groaning, chirping, and crackling, as they solidify. Dry ice causes coins to viciously chatter. Water beads bounce, whine, and buzz on blazing hot pans. White hot sand roars and erupts upon contact with water. All of this and more was recorded with mics capturing quality frequency information up to ~65kHz. This ultrasonic content allows for extreme pitch shifting without compromising fidelity.
A collection of hunger-inducing sounds of cooking: Includes sounds of frying, boiling, pouring, stirring, whisking and many more sounds from the kitchen.
Each sound file has been carefully named and tagged for easy search in Soundminer and is Universal Category System (UCS) compliant.

We’re incredibly excited to introduce the ‘STOMPS – Creature Footsteps’ sound effects library – these are footsteps like you’ve never heard them before!
STOMPS is a massive collection of more than 8,500 files to boost your creativity and help you add special footstep sounds to your new project.
In the Source category you’ll find the “best of” several hours worth of our recordings sessions, with more than 7,500 files (with lots of variations) organized into 83 folders. Every single sound is the product of a new recording.
You’ll find the sequences that include: 2 Legs WALKING, 2 Legs RUNNING, 4 Legs GALLOPING, 4 Legs TROTTING, and 4 Legs WALKING.
We used all kinds of weird props to record original, versatile sounds with lot of character, different textures, and in very different frequency ranges.
These sounds form the DNA of your future footsteps. You’ll have lots of different sound colours to play with, ranging from very small and harsh sounds to very low and bold ones, and all the ranges in between.
In the Texture category, you’ll find more than 600 sounds with different textures to help you customize your footsteps. These textures are also a very valuable sonic material that will help you construct lots of varying sound design work.
Finally, we have the Design category. Here you’ll find more than 500 processed sounds created by veteran sound designer Michel Marchant, covering a wide range of characters like Robots, Snow Creatures, Distant Dinosaurs, Rock Golems, Armies, Colossus and many, many more!
STOMPS now also features a special GLUED version, with the exact same content but with variation files edited together to reduce the number of single files in the collection, and making search through all sounds easier.
With “STOMPS, Creature Footsteps,” you’ll have anything you’ll need to create everything from small creature footsteps to big, out-of-this-world ones.
Get a collection of 134 impulse responses – recorded in the forest.
What if, instead of going to the forest to record the sound, we can find a way to bring the characteristics of the forest to us? Say, for example, we have recorded a sound in the studio like the sound of chopping wood or foley footsteps, but we want them to sound like they are in the forest?
There is a way to emulate this. To make our source sound like it is, in fact, in a forest. The answer is to use the impulse response of the forest and one of the convolution reverb plugins for your DAW.
An impulse response of the forest (or “forest IR”), is the sum of reflections from trees, foliage and the ground by very short signal at high volume. For this sound library, I recorded different impulses in a stereo at different locations of the forest with perfect conditions. Also, the library includes alternate versions of these impulses for use in the processing of the sounds that are far away from the listener.
For using these impulse responses, you need a convolution reverb plugin (not included). The library can be used with the built-in convolution plugins in many DAWs like ProTools, FL Studio amd Sony Vegas, and there are other commercial options on the market, but costs can be high. For starters, you can use a free convolution reverb from the following
LiquidSonics’ Reverberate LE (Win)
SIR by Christian Knufinke (Win)
A wide choice of IR’s will allow you to choose the most appropriate nuanced impulse response for your material. As you gain more experience with this forest IR, you will find that you can quickly adjust the ratio and volume level for wet and dry channels and effectively use other options of convolution reverb. This powerful forest reverb emulation will be incredibly effective for your sounds.
This is an extended and re-mastered source part of more advanced Radiomorph library.
Shortwave radio is a strange, noisy and constantly changing soundscape, but it can pick up lots of interesting things: whine, fading stations, atmospheric noises, heterodyne, voices in foreign languages from distant broadcasts.
Time of day, location, weather, solar activity, ionosphere – all these things have huge impact to what receiver can pick up.
This affordable library is a great way to add unique, squelchy, noisy, unpredictable LoFi sounds to your arsenal!
Equipment used: Evaton RF Nomad eurorack module, Sound Devices MixPre 6
KEY POINTS:
– 75 sound effects made from eurorack shortwave radio receiver module
– 96khz/24bit quality
– Perfect source of dark, gritty and noisy radio textures for SFX production
– Universal Catalog System (UCS) compliant
– Contains BWF metadata for search engines
Get 500 sound effects of mainly metal and wood impacts, metal junk hits, crashes, heavy door slams, metal drops, metal wall and oil tank hits in this SFX library.
All sounds were recorded with a RODE NTG-3, a RODE NT-4 and a Beyerdynamic MC950 microphone on a Sound Devices 744T (+ SD MixPre-D). Each sound was heavily edited and cleaned, so there is no noise or other unwanted sounds. The sounds were layered, EQed and compressed for that extra punch – so they can be instantly used to sonically treat your medieval and sci fi battles, fighting and walking robots and anything else that needs some heavy metal treatment.
You can use the sounds right away. No further editing needed. But you can, of course… :)
Whooshes & Impacts is a large package of futuristic and magical Whoosh sound FX and heavy weight Impact sound FX.
Whooshes & Impacts features 245 heavy, sci-fi, mysterious, magical, futuristic, epic, impacts, whooshes, swishes, pass-by FX
We recorded tons of different metallic objects like wrenches, cameras, stands, microphones, etc… to create different hits and textures for the Source Material kit, everything was recorded at 192 kHz with the famous Sennheiser MKH 8040/8050 microphones in order to capture all the harmonics up to 50-60 kHz. Then we layered/edited/pitched, crushed them to create the sounds in the Designed folder.
The “Source” folder contains 91 files and hundreds individual sounds divided into these categories:
– Hit
– Scrape
– Screw
– Rattle
– Mech
– Click
– Slide
The “Designed” folder contains 20 files and many more individual sounds, all created from the “Source Material”:

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
