In the Nomad series we’ve captured a wide variety of locations and soundscapes in remote, hard-to-reach wilderness during a two month, 1,000-km thru hike trek across New Mexico state, Texas, Arizona and Utah following the Continental dive trail.

You’ll hear unique arid desert, deep canyon, wild river, mountain forest, desert silence, wild animals and a variety of New Mexico birds: raven, robin, turtle-dove, sparrow, hawk, coyote, prairie dog, etc….

In this collection you’ll find high quality audio recordings in ambisonic Ambix format with references pictures, detailed track sheet and a reaper session.

Bonus 1 : Outside impulse response audio files recorded with balloon explosion to complete the collection.

Bonus 2 : Audio files of city rumors and passing diesel trains encountered along the way.

Field recording locations : Monument Valley, Carlsbad cavern, Crazy Cook monument, Gila wilderness, Petrified forest national park, Bear Ears national monument and many other mythical wild places.

We used a Sound Device MixPre6 + ZOOM F6 Field Recorder and Reynolds 1st order Ambisonic mics.

After 20 years as a video game audio director on several AAA franchises: Splinter Cell – Assassin Creed – Far Cry, I’ve turned to my first passion: wilderness expeditions and ambient field recordings.
Most of my recordings are made on expeditions lasting several months, on foot or by boat, in order to capture rich, original atmospheres.
