  • This audio collection offers a library of aircraft and train passes and bys (and a random helicopter) , captured over two nights in my garden which is under the London Gatwick Airport flighpath and a nearby railway line. Designed for professionals seeking authentic and high-fidelity audio, this collection provides a rich tapestry of sonic experiences.

    Aircraft Recordings:

Commercial Jet Traffic: Recorded overnight under the Gatwick flight path at night to minimize extraneous noise, these recordings capture the distinct sounds of various commercial jetliners operating at approximately 5,000 feet. The collection encompasses a range of aircraft types, offering a nuanced perspective on the acoustic signatures of modern aviation.
Private and Light Aircraft: Complementing the commercial jet recordings, this mini collection also features a variety of smaller private jets and a propeller plane operating around 2,500 feet. These recordings provide valuable insight into the sonic characteristics of lighter aircraft, further diversifying the collection’s offerings.
Altitude Data: Each aircraft recording is accompanied by approx altitude data, verified by a reliable flight tracking application. This metadata adds another layer of information for sound designers and editors, enabling them to select recordings that accurately reflect specific aircraft types and flight operations.
    Train Recordings:

Commuter Train Variety: Captured approximately 20 feet from the railway line, these recordings showcase the diverse soundscape of commuter rail traffic. The collection features an array of train types, each with unique sonic characteristics defined by varying speeds, weights, and configurations. This diversity ensures that sound professionals have access to a comprehensive palette of authentic train sounds. For these I used an Audio-Technica BP4025 microphone renowned for its ability to capture realistic and immersive soundscapes, these recordings transport listeners to the heart of the railway environment. The microphone placement, carefully chosen to optimize sonic clarity and detail, ensures that each recording faithfully represents the dynamic energy of passing trains.
    Technical Excellence:

Professional-Grade Equipment: All recordings were captured using state-of-the-art equipment, including Zoom H2n (for the overnight recordings) and F3 recorders,
This meticulously crafted collection provides an invaluable resource for sound designers, filmmakers, game developers, and any creative professional seeking authentic and high-quality aircraft and train audio. Its diverse range of recordings, coupled with precise metadata and technical precision, makes it an indispensable tool for enriching any audio project.

  • Industrial Ambiences Power Station Play Track 84 sounds included, 318 mins total $50

Boilers, turbines, recycle pumps! Desulphurisation flues, electrostatic precipitators, and solar photovoltaic arrays! We don’t entirely know what these things do – but we know for certain they sound amazing!

Last year we were granted access to one of the UK’s largest coal-fuelled power stations. With hard hats, steel toes, and a swag of mics we recorded every space and machine we could. The result is a highly comprehensive collection of industrial recordings that describe heavy 20th century industry.

We’re talking about the archetypal power station too, not something dumbed down for 2020. This place was the real deal! Great big looming cooling towers, massive halls of turbine engines, coal mills, rumbling underground passages, rooms full of electrical gadgets, pumps of all types, oh and a coal train unloading a 100 ton hopper.  It’s a hell of a library.

We recorded in a quad setup using a pair of Sanken CO-100ks, a pair of Sennheiser 8020s. We also had a Schoeps CMXY nearby getting an independent perspective. The recordings are versatile, pitch like crazy, and are useful for hundreds of applications.

These power stations won’t be around much longer – so we’re glad we got a chance to record this beast of industry while we could.

    Enjoy!

“There’s a lot of great stuff in here.  A nice variety of steadies for sci-fi and industrial use.  There’s also tracks with just the right amount of activity (not TOO busy).  Authentic scale is hard to fake so this is a great pack of sounds to have for large mechanical spaces.  Great steam/air releases too, and a large servo motor startup that is a real gem.” -Dave Farmer

“It is always a handy to have a library from these guys.  Well recorded and full of interest, Power Station is a great library and full of never before heard sounds. It’s sometimes difficult to visualise a space from a recording, but definitely not with this collection. They’re huge and real. Most of the time drones and tones can feel synthetic, but they have really managed to capture a true real industrial soundscape. They are definitely colossal.” – Ben Meechan

  • Whooosh! What was that? A pass by from a train? A bus? A tram from the 60s? The longest escalator in all of Sweden!?

Segway – A small personal transporter. Capable of fast, swift movements if used by a skilled pilot.
Chopper – The helicopter technology of the future.
Train – Large public transport of a struggling future civilization
