The NRS quest for the perfect guitar tone continues. This time we have covered the grounds that are wild and hard to reach, for most. Our unique team of sound designers have, spent the last 6 months developing a brand new set of cabinet and mic impulse responses for you. Thanks to our custom mathematical equations and processing algorithms that aid us in accurate hardware modeling, we have reached a much wider than usual variety of sound possible.
The final result closes the gap between our previous release and adds an inspiring selection of new tones which will fit both acoustic guitarist and aggressive rock-roll head or pure bass guitar virtuoso. We can guarantee that you will be very positively surprised. Try our mic-coloring IRs for gentle character or creative use, or dive deeper into guitar and bass cabs, to enjoy an experience full of wonderful tones and possibilities. Buckle up, it will be a wild ride.
Make room for our groundbreaking Impulse Responses library! Yes, we are serious, it’s the high quality collection of experimental convolution samples that could easily, if unchecked, contradict the laws of physics and nature. These impulses were recorded and deeply-processed to create reverb tails with unique characteristics as well as creative effects that are not accessible or easily simulated in any other way. Prepare yourself for an immersive experience of sonic trickery applied throughout the included material.
We dive right into additive synthesis, to generate chord and tonal effects, then we throw away the rulebook for pitch-shifting and time-stretching, then we go even further with glitch-like effects; finally, we manipulated the timbres in combination with custom rhythmic-noise generation tools to create the extraterrestrial atmospheres that will let you turn any material into a completely unique experience.
These samples, are designed to be user-friendly, no unwanted resonances; but in the hands of the professionals, these deep impulses can be the new edge for mixing and sound design. Creating Hollywood-style cinematic-effects, futuristic-glitches and ambience goodness, was never so easy. Just drag, drop and feel the air shake.
Let’s continue our scientific journey into experimental-impulse-response research. This time around, we have developed a technique to produce outstanding rhythmic reverb spaces; utilizing intense frequency and amplitude modulation synthesis with the touch of granularity.
Some of them resulting in the most vivid and lush ambiences you could imagine, other with glitchy stuttery twists. Sounds that are truly out of this world, that can yet be tamed to fit your reality. Our impulses will reverberate clearly in your convolution reverb engine, without any harsh resonances or struggles with equalisation.
They are like pieces of glass, beautiful and clean with outstanding shapes and textures, yet coloured if need be. Trust your ears, these spatial shapes can be what it takes to transform your tracks into cinematic wonders or completely reinvent them as spatial masterpieces.
The journey continues. This time we focused our attention on resonant chambers, unusual small-spaces, rooms and corridors (spiced with unique tonal character). These impulse responses will put your instruments in tight-spaces that are unreachable in the real world.
Including organic, futuristic environments and psychedelic chambers, all surprisingly fitting in a natural way. Just for this project, we pushed granular synthesis to the limits, mixing it with great sounding analog gear and a handful of our special algorithms, to make sure we delivered the most versatile and dynamics-rich product. Everything is ready for professional use, right out of the box; thanks to the precisely controlled tonality of the IRs.
You won’t find anything like this in any other place, and we are fully proud of it. Just try it.
We are proud to present the next step in our impulse response research; Impulse Exploration 4. This time we have combined all the algorithms and processing techniques used in our previous IR-based products including FM, AM, time stretching, pitch-shifting, spectral-synthesis and multi-faceted manipulations, then added rhythmic elements, which result in tape echo-like sounds or metallic-comb textures.
All of these new impulses were optimized with a slightly soft-warm feel which perfectly fits the mix. It’s an entire world of brand new processing effects and possibilities which can be easily unraveled within any convolution engine, ready to be explored. We hope you enjoy the trip.
Have you heard about fractals, if so then you probably know that they can be used as art; to an almost-infinite detail creating mind boggling patterns. Luckily, it so happens that one of our core team sound-designers is also a well known fractal artist.
With the help of “photo-synthesis” and “spectral-manipulations”, we extracted the unique impulse responses straight out of some of the most mathematical pieces of art we have ever seen. These visually insane patterns resulted in some truly unique sonic experiences, which we have been unable to find anywhere else. More importantly, now you can add an extra layer of complexity and dimension to your sound with the easy-to-use impulse responses.
These are not the typical reverb tones that can be found or created, in most already-existing convolution reverb plugins.
Think about these Mathematical Impulse Responses, as unique effects and textures, a sound designer’s’ paradise. Make your math-rock mathematically richer than ever before, or give your EDM a new harmonically otherworldly twist, go where you want to go without the fear of being held back by the tools you use.
Let’s step into the wonderful world of classic hardware reverbs. The Lexicon legends; the 960, the 480L, the PCM90 and so forth used in thousands of tracks across tens of thousands of albums, and a number of the world’s’ greatest hits. Everyone knows what’s special about them, and how good they sound. We just love the natural beauty of the “Lexicon 960”, “Lexicon 480L” and “Lexicon PCM90”.
However, instead of giving you our sampled Impulse Responses from those marvelous pieces of audio engineering, we decided to step up the game and combine them into one new device. All three of them were combined into one product, thanks to the use of FFT algorithms and complex audio processing aimed for precision and sound quality.
The final result is just astonishing, we named it “Lexi”; a new hybrid with a natural and richer sound that keeps the warm tonal character of the classics. Our team also couldn’t resist to the temptation to push our audio-processing scripts to the limits, so you not only get the great sounding regulars, but also a few of the modern (both brighter and way deeper) Impulse tones that those original devices couldn’t produce. Now it’s your turn to decide which way you use them. Will it be the remaster of a classic rock song or the new EDM club hit? The decision is truly yours.

PSP 2445 EMT is a reverb processor plug-in (VST, AAX and RTAS for Windows; AudioUnit, VST, AAX and RTAS for Mac OSX) inspired by two legendary early digital age reverberators: the EMT® 244 and the EMT® 245. PSP thoroughly researched how to bring the specific features of those simple, yet very musical sounding reverbs to life as a plug-in. We then improved from the originals with a handy set of parameters to control details of the sound and mix the reverb not available in the original hardware. The PSP 2445 is capable of processing using one selected engine or both of them simultaneously.
The reverb algorithms implemented in PSP 2445 are based on original algorithms designed by Dr. Barry Blesser (one of the grandfathers of the digital audio revolution). Thanks to Barry’s extensive consultation and support our algorithms sound as good as the originals and plug-in could be officially endorsed by EMT Studiotechnik GmbH.
PSP EasyVerb 2 is a reverberation effect plug-in (VST, RTAS and AAX for Windows; VST, AudioUnit, RTAS and AAX for Mac OS X UniversalBinary). PSP EasyVerb contains nine high quality reverb algorithms designed to simulate physical spaces (ambience, room, chamber, club, hall, arena, cathedral) or popular reverb machines such as plate and spring reverbs. In developing this plug-in, we endeavored to make it simple to use, while offering enough control over each algorithm for you to customize the effect to your specific needs. In other words we wanted to offer you a reverb that is operationally “easy”, but sonically complex!
PSP N2O is a semi-modular multi-effect plug-in which offers unparalleled flexibility and total sound creation freedom. The high-quality sound processing modules can be routed in any configuration, allowing for endless musical journeys. While built upon the same basic concept as PSP Nitro, PSP N2O, with its new modules and extended modulation features, explores completely new sonic areas. The plug-in engine has been rewritten and redesigned from scratch in order to improve the sound and take full advantage of the optimizations offered by modern CPUs. The enhanced user interface improves the experience of both sound designers creating their own soundscapes as well as everyday users who aren’t as fond of looking under the hood.
Check out the list below to find out about exciting PSP N2O features—or better yet, take a deep breath and give it a try! And remember, don’t tell your neighbors about your experience! While legal in the US, many states have laws regulating the possession, sale and distribution of N2O. Some reports say it is highly addictive…
PSP Nexcellence is a rich-sounding, spring emulation inspired by and modeled after “Necklace-type” reverb units. It provides two different spring set processors and can use one or both of its processing engines simultaneously. The algorithm has improved on the original hardware by providing a handy set of parameters to let you control inherent aspects of the spring reverb.
PSP PianoVerb2 is a redesigned and improved creative resonant reverb plug-in (VST, VST3, AAX and RTAS for Windows; AudioUnit, VST, VST3, AAX and RTAS for Mac OSX) plug-in based on our famous and beloved freeware plug-in PSP PianoVerb. The new version offers redesigned GUI with a brand new resize feature and new presets management. Like the original PianoVerb it creates its unique sound with twelve resonant filters that mimic the behavior of piano strings. The ability to transpose, tune and detune the set of strings allow you to set up PianoVerb2 to deliver a wide range of reverberations ranging from traditional wide spread reverb to unique and unusual resonances. With the addition of a brand new modulation section and the ability to set up multiple settings of time and damping and decay freezing (via A/B comparison function) this little plug-in delivers amazing options for creative use. Add to that some other amazing new additions such as a high pass filter section, independent dry/wet controls and a reverb tail freeze control, and you can see just how PianoVerb2 has become a truly comprehensive and unique algorithmic reverb. Whenever you want to add some natural resonance to a weak piano track, vitalize your leading guitar with a bit of sustain or simply add a touch of a nice reverb to the selected track, PSP PianoVerb2 can do the job!
