Continuing the popular Videogame Foley Essentials series (Vol. I, Vol. II, Vol.III), Vol. IV offers an additional 1325 individual sound effects all mixed at the same volume level, carefully cleaned of any unnecessary background noise and artifacts. These sounds are ready to be integrated into any audio middleware solution, such as Wwise or FMOD. Recorded with videogame development in mind, all sounds are short, snappy one-shots with dozens of iterations, making them ideal for layering, stretching and bending to achieve surprising results. The goal is to streamline the workflow for editors and sound designers by providing ready-to-use sound batches for their middleware projects, avoiding auditory repetition and fatigue for gamers while keeping them fully immersed in their upcoming adventures.
You’ll find in this library the following folders with clear nomenclature and corresponding metadata related to various interactions either with environmental objects or the characters in the game:

Cassette Deck is a set of sounds collected from a small group of analog cassette players. It’s filled with great mechanical buttons and switches, latches, a few motors at different speeds, and multiple microphones/perspectives per take. Great if you’re building some mechanical interfaces!
This library features recordings of sounds that were dubbed to 25 year old cassette tapes and then played back using a unique cassette manipulation device. The cassette tape reels are controlled manually by hand via a turning knob, allowing for speeding up/slowing down the pitch and speed while also controlling the rhythm, much like scratching vinyl. The existing sounds recorded to tape combined with the wow and flutter of the worn out tape, and manual speed playback create unique new sounds, including glitched tones, gritty blips, scratching, and percussive hits.
This sample pack is a unique collection of sounds recorded from a real cassette deck, tape recorder and sounds created by audio cassettes. Created in high quality 96 kHz 24 bit, this set includes sounds that evoke nostalgia for the era of audio cassettes.
Loading Sounds is a collection of various VCRs, CDs, Cassettes and Game console recordings focused on their mechanical requirements to play music or movies. There are even Printers loading paper and car CD players loading damaged CDs. There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
