The recordings include engine sounds, passbys, constant driving at different speeds, foley-type sounds such as car doors and windows opening and closing, braking, skidding and spinning and much more.
A category-focused sound effects collection that includes a variety of basic car elements, light rail, trams, bus rides, and other basic car and transportation sounds. Over 100 separate WAV files recorded at 24bit, 96kHz or 48kHz.
Caterham Series Pass-By compiles over 45 minutes of racing sounds from the series’ main annual event. Two speakers provide commentary on the race in both Portuguese and English, with occasional light crowd conversations. Recorded at two distinct locations, in this library, you’ll find long takes recorded at the finish line and the tightest corner of this particular race track, resulting in plenty of engine revving, drifting, and vehicles driving off into the distance. These recordings are perfect for media scenes set in these environments or for creative sound design, given that they were captured just 5 meters from the vehicles themselves.
This sound library is available in both Ambisonics FuMa (B Format) and Stereo (Binaural) formats.
This sound library features cool sounds of a inline 4 cylinder engine spinning at 8k rpms. Car was built in 2001 and it’s running on 1.6 engine with Cobalt cold air intake cone and Cobalt axleback exhaust system. It was recorded onboard in sync with stereo interior. You’ll get different onboard perspective like 3 different engine angles, cold air intake and two exhaust angles + exterior sounds recorded in the corner in stereo.
Recorded with: 2x DPA 4061, DPA 4062, Sony M10, Rode NTG3, 2x Rode NT5, LOM, CM4
This sound library features incredible sound of a rotary engine screaming at 9000 rpms. Car in mostly stock form, without catalytic converter was recorded onboard with set of microphones under the hood (intake and engine perspective), on the back of the car (two exhaust perspectives) and inside the car (mic in the trunk + stereo setup on the front seats in sync with engine / exhaust). Various styles of driving were covered, from regular driving through high speed spirited driving, aggressive accelerations up to RPM ramps and slow and steady increase for looping in game audio. Engine start, idle, stepping on the gas repeatedly is also included. Last but not least, exterior passes were recorded in mono and stereo, slow by sounds, fast ones, stopping, and differenty parking maneuvers.

Racing Citröen C1 Pass-By compiles around 40 minutes of modified Citröen C1 (2008) vehicles racing at a private event, with little to no crowd conversations or unnecessary background noise, aside from the speaker commenting on the race itself in Portuguese. Recorded at two distinct locations, this library features long takes at the finish line and on the tightest corner of the race track, capturing plenty of engine revving, drifting, and vehicles driving off into the distance. These recordings are perfect for media scenes set in these settings or for creative sound design, as they were recorded just 5 meters from the vehicles themselves.

Flysound presents… TOYOTA GT86 AERO!
A sound library of speed and attitude, capturing all sorts of screeching and roaring, starting, stopping and maneuvering of this beast, specifically, a 2015 Aero 2.0 Petrol 4 cylinder 16-valve DOHC model. In layman’s terms this means a symphony of factors ideal for the sound of a chase scene.

This sound library is a collection of various actions with game audio in mind from a Ford Mustang 2021 Ecoboost convertible, recorded in parts of rural California in November 2024.
The Mustang features a 2.3L Inline-4 (I4) turbocharged engine, which was quite the character captured with a lot of emphasis in the multichannel recording session.
For help to record this beauty I enlisted the aid of my friend Diego Hodge who helped with both his arsenal of microphone options, rigging up the ‘Stang, and planning for the session. You can learn more about Diego’s work here: https://diegohodgeaudio.com/
The library contains captures of idling, all the way up to 5000 RPM and beyond. Both single rev cycles as well as laying on the pedal for a consistent, sustained loop was a key part of our capture log. We even tried some sporadic flares of the engine in the style of Fast and the Furious, so your scene/game can be complete with that classic aggressive turbo-charged muscle sound to signal to the competition that you mean business.
For the rest of the session, we captured some burnouts, some close-miked details of the tire on dirt roads, the classic passbys at various speeds, as well as the typical foley and actions associated with vehicles: doors, windshield wipers, buttons, etc. The microphones used: Clippy EM272M and Primo EM258 capsules from Micbooster for the car interior, a pair of Tascam TM-78 condenser mics in the engine bay, a pair of ND468 dynamic mics on the exhaust, and the Rode NTG5 shotgun mic.
The content is offered in 96 kHz 24 bit for the engine recordings and 192 kHz 24 bit for the actions performed inside the vehicle. Polywavs are naturally provided for the multichannel mic arrays. This library is fully UCS compatible and Soundminer-friendly with richly embedded metadata. It contains 25 WAV files in total with a runtime of close to 28 mins of audio.
Thank you for listening. I sincerely hope you enjoy my work and have lots of fun making new creations for the world to hear! Also be sure to post or send me what you’re working on with the assets. Attribution is appreciated, but not required.

External recordings were made with Sennheiser 8060 shotgun mic.
Library consists of startups, revs, onboards and variety of passbys.
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
