Find sounds from 100s of different cars, recorded and curated by some of the world’s finest sound recordists. The recordings include engine sounds, passbys, constant driving at different speeds, foley-type sounds such as car doors and windows opening and closing, braking, skidding and spinning and much more.
Race Track Corner sound library features recordings of 21 cars, approaching tight corner, then hitting that apex and getting out to straight line. Different cars, from regular daily driven ones, to fully modified rally cars. Recorded in mono, stereo and with additional stereo perspective, from the ground in the middle of the apex. It’s 65 files, more than 2GB of audio with total length of 96 minutes.
Junkyard Car Smashed. Windows, doors, lights dash, great tearing of safety glass. Maybe should have ended up in gore, sweet and gross. Good glass shatter explosion.
I purchased a car in a junkyard and we went to town smashing it up. There are metal hits and glass hits as well. There are some great safety glass explosions as well as glass debris flying around inside the car. I smashed a bunch of the engine with a sledge hammer as well as dragging metal over engine parts. One of the best sounds is grinding and tearing the windshield. As safety glass is often covered with a thin film of plastic, it made the best sharp crackly flesh peeling sound ever. Perfect for adding destruction details.
Dacia Sandero II 1.0 SCe sound library features 65 high-quality files recorded with multi-mic setup. Engine was recorded in sync with interior cabin ambient, and you can expect different styles of driving. From casual city driving, through accelerations on a highway up to rpm ramps and constant rpm loops for game audio. In addition to designed sounds, you’ll find raw recordings for each perspective (engine, air intake, exhaust).Â
All files are recorded 24bit, 96 kHz, with Rode NTG1 and Shure VP88 microphones. Library contains wav files of driving, interior and exterior foley, mechanical and electrical sounds.
Here are diffused soundscapes of one of the largest and fastest-growing city on the planet: Dubai. The traffic and activity level is constant in this metropolis.
There are ambiences recorded at ground floor, and traffic tones recorded from high-rise buildings, at the 38th floor, from indoor and outdoor. One bonus included: a Bangkok traffic ambience from 25th floor.
A full library of recordings from a 2009 Ford Fusion Plus with a 1.6 litre Duratec petrol engine. Includes door opens and closes, windows up and down, seatbelts, switches, buttons, engine turn key, start and idle, revs and more. Recordings made using Sennheiser MKH416, 8050 and Rode NT5 mics into a Zoom F8 and F4, plus some additional recordings using a JRF contact mic.
Also includes three 7+ minute continuous driving interior ambisonics (Ambix B format) recordings with synced mono engine bay recordings. Covering turn key and start, driving through the countryside up to 60mph on dual carriageway, into the city and stopping. Made with Sennheiser Ambeo and ME2 mics.
If you need a no-nonsense, great quality library of an ordinary car, not a fancy flashy sports car as I often do, then this is the library for you! Everything is delivered in 24 Bit / 192 kHz making it useful for sound design purposes too. Need a massive metal impact? Pitch down one of those doors!
All files contain extensive metadata in both Soundminer and BWAV formats.
A very flavourful and expressive vintage single-seater race car from the late 1950s !
This car has been recorded on a private circuit. It has a very peculiar peculiarness : its engine had issues and emitted a specific staccato/typewriter type of sound. So, if you’re looking for a car with some character, look no further my good person. We at Big Pizza Sniffers always strive to deliver you something functionally broken in the best quality possible. It’s obviously not broken to the point of not working. This is a very very fast car that did very fast laps. It’s just peculiar. Listen to the demo attached.
We’ve recorded a couple laps with 3 onboards mics, as well as exteriors with a Schoeps MS setup : a startup to drive away, an arrival to stop, and some idle on the track.
It’s a short little library that can cover your many needs if you have a vintage/flavourful race car scene. It can also function as asmr if you’re a really big fan of the madmax movies.
Dive into the dynamic world of automotive excellence with this collection that spans the spectrum from classic elegance to modern power. Experience the throaty growl of a Porsche 595 as it revs to life, and the raw, turbocharged fury of a Lancia S4. Feel the sandy grit under the wheels of a nimble Buggy, and the smooth acceleration of a BMW M4. From the iconic rumble of a Camaro to the timeless grace of a Jaguar E-Type, each car offers its unique auditory signature. The Saab 92’s distinctive start, the luxurious purr of a BMW E64, the everyday reliability of a VW Golf, and the quiet hum of a Toyota Prius driving and slowing down—all are captured with stunning clarity. Perfect for automotive enthusiasts and creators looking to add authentic vehicular sounds to their projects, this collection is a tribute to the art of motion.
This sound library was created after four fun and detailed recording sessions with four unique cars—three classics from the “Soviet-era” – Skoda 125L, Skoda 1203, and Skoda Favorit and a bonus BMW E38 720i. We captured a wide range of sounds, including interior and exterior props, pass-bys, reverses, approaches, and departures.
For the driving sessions, we placed microphones in key spots—at the exhaust, engine, and inside the car—to get different perspectives. This gives you plenty of flexibility, whether you’re working on sound design for movies, video games, or anything in between.
In total, the library includes 336 high-quality sounds, mostly recorded in 96kHz, 24-bit format. We made sure to capture various driving speeds with all the cars, so it can fit whatever scene you’re creating.

Experience the sound of popular German city car, Audi A3 8V 2.0T Quattro. This very popular car was recorded on regular roads. Library contains different styles of driving (regular city driving, spirited driving, accelerations + steady RPMS and ramps for game audio) recorded onboard with different perspectives (intake turbo, 2 engine perspectives) + interior stereo in sync with other mics. This time no exhaust microphones. I do have the stems, but the exhaust literally sounds like wind. There is no character or tone in the sound, so I’ve pulled everything there was through intake and engine perspectives. Last but not least, there are files containing exterior passes with different speeds.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
