Materials & Texture Sound Effects

Sound effects and recordings of various surfaces, textures, objects and elements – soft, hard, organic, wooden, stone, metallic and lots more

  • This audio library was recorded in the fortification complex “Fort Dönhoff’ of the citadel city of Königsberg, one of the fifteen main forts built in 1877-1881. When visiting historic buildings I always try to capture as many interesting and authentic sounds as I am able to find. This library offers the users 34 ready-to-use files which I hope will enrich your audio collections and might come in handy if you need to make SFX for games, movies, TV shows or quests. Also it will help you create an additional sound layer for any project that takes place in mansions, prisons and old houses.

    This library contains:
    -big, heavy gates;
    -distant and close chains of different size;
    -metal doors;
    -old wood;
    -various vintage gear;
    -ambience.

    The sound library includes detailed, complete, UCS compliant metadata.

  • Cinematic & Trailer Sound Effects Disquiet Play Track 122 sounds included, 4 mins total $25

    DISQUIET is a collection of 122 energetic and intense cinematic kick sounds (24 Bit / 96 kHz, WAV) aimed to bring energy and excitement to your production.

    Thanks to their perturbed and broken nature these sounds are great for horror trailer music or any production that needs a boost in energy or a scare jump.

    Categories included: Distortion, granular, glitch, alert and corrupted signal.

    A simple and direct library that can become your secret weapon.

  • This library features an industry standard roaster, a bean destoner, antique hand grinders, modern electro grinders, coffee makers, milk frothers, espresso machines, a french press, plenty of beans and much more. And with much more I mean lots of handling sounds & grabs from from lids, packaging, cups, spoons, sieves, pour of liquids and that kind of stuff.

    Of course it serves all your barista needs, be it in the household or in a café. But in a addition it is a fantastic sound design tool to create all kind of machinery from steam punk to futuristic motors. It also is very valuable for musicians, with a fantastic selection of roasted & green espresso beans poured, shaken and dropped on various surfaces. From a single bean to thousands of beans. Makes great percussion sounds.

    Most recording session have been in my studio, but I also visited a roasting plant, where I was able to record various machines across the stages of roasting and packing coffee.

    Some extra recordings are pouring of coffee and milk or destroying an old caffee machine.

    Mics used: Earthworks QTC50 (records up 90kHz, linear up to 50kHz), Neumann KMR81i, Schoeps MK41, DPA 4061, Brauner Phantom, Shure SM57, Contact, EMF, Lewitt 540s (very quiet for single beans dropping on the floor).

    I had some projects that needed coffee maker sounds in the past. And while there is a fantastic library with antique grinders from “The Soundcatcher” and some libraries with a Espresso Machine or a Coffee Machine, I was missing one that combines all of these sounds up to dropping a sugar cube into the coffee. So i created it myself and here it is.

  • Foley Sound Effects Organic VS Machine Play Track 548 sounds included, 10 mins total $79.99

    Get ready to take your UI to the next level with this massive dual library of organically recorded sounds and machine generated sounds. This is not your average UI Library.The process for creating this library was simple: record every day sounds that happen organically. That includes pen clicks, paper crinkles, wood blocks, garbage rustling, paper shuffling, elemental material impacts and movements, etc. Then take those sounds and send them through a chain of modules in a modular synthesizer that is patched specifically to mangle, tangle, distort, pitch shift, warp, and rearrange. The result is somewhere between alien and mech, familiar and unfamiliar; a treasure trove of refreshing and unique sounds at your disposal.

    You might call it Future UI, Alien UI, Biotech, or Bio-Mech. Whether your project needs material, organic, clean UI sounds or futuristic, sci-fi, biotech UI sounds, this dual library gives you the freedom to pick one or the other or somewhere in between. All sounds were recorded at 192 kHz and with over 540 sounds your options are vast. Keep a clean sonic palate and choose from the Organic sounds. Build something refreshingly out of this world with the Machine sounds. The choice is yours, enjoy Organic vs Machine!

    SOUNDS FROM A BUCKET

    The centerpiece of this extraordinary metal sound library is a custom built instrument. A metal bucket has been attached to various guitar strings and clamped into wooden gallows. The recordings sound as creepy as the idea and range from deep, scary vibrations to unbearable squeaks.

    Bucket Instrument

    PLAYING A BUCKET

    The bucket instrument has then been bowed, plucked and played with an Ebow, over a range of three octaves and in different styles & intensities. Different techniques have been used and abused to coax the most interesting sounds out if it.

    Microphones were placed inside of the bucket for the boomy part and outside for the delicate sound content. Furthermore, a pair of contact mics had been attached to the metal surface.

    After harvesting tons of interesting sound material, the crop was extensively edited and processed to create hits, transitions, ambiences & more.

    Bucket Instrument

    ULTRASONIC FREQUENCIES

    With the additional use of Sanken CO-100K microphones, ultrasonic frequency content up to 100kHz has been captured and the squeakiest sounds have been pitched down to half speed before inclusion into this 96kHz sound library. You can pitch everything down one octave without trimming the full audible frequency spectrum. Unknown soundscapes are waiting to get discovered!

    Sanken CO-100K Microphones

    METAL PROPS

    A big selection of metal objects like bells, singing bowls, huge metal plates and giant gongs have been played, hit and brought to vibration. Metal bars, springs, grids and other metal items have been scraped, rubbed, dropped, shaken and struck.

    Metal Plate

    DESIGNED SOUNDS

    A part of the sounds already went through some heavy processing/layering, which created a selection of abstract soundscapes, haunting whooshes, unbearable horror squeaks and shocking impacts. These sounds are examples of the sound design opportunities possible with this rich audio material.

    Metal Objects

    LOOPS

    76 of the mysterious ambiences, continuous scrapes, neverending drones and rattles are included as seamless loopable audio files. No trimming & fading needed – just drop, duplicate, extend.

    Metal Scrapes

  • KLAP Sound took a piano and tortured it, dismembered it and finally destroyed it—and recorded the whole process. For the making of this library, they used several tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, knives, and saws, as well as props like dirt, send, gravel, forks and other sharp objects. The results are raw sounds of foley with musical rings, harmonic tails and creepy vibes that are dry yet barely edited for your own enjoyment.

  • Drones & Mood Sound Effects Yvaine Play Track 1400 sounds included, 740 mins total $26

    A massive electro-acoustic drone SFX library reft from a custom designed and hand-built instrument! These drones were coaxed from a unique instrument using the power of air.  No harsh picking or plucking, just assorted techniques for moving air deftly across the strings.

    The guitar, Yvaine, was recorded simultaneously via two tracks (one direct and another amped and mic’d) and was set to 23 different tunings to encompass the full spectrum of her voice, character, and soul. The tunings are as follows:

    All5ths | B6th | Capo12th | CassianoPereiraViana | CrossnoteF | Cuba | DADGAD | DropB | Hawaiian | Koto | OpenA | OpenC | OpenD | OpenE | OpenF | OpenG | OpenPage | Orkney | Ostrich | Pentatonic | “Spira” | Standard | TheEdge

    The files range from uber clean and harmonic to gritty, crackling, and distorted. For some of the overdriven amped recordings, we even experimented with creative NR settings for the modulation of artificial harmonics…and kept some of the more colorful results! Between the two different tracks, multiple takes were made per strength, per position, per recording. Depending on which takes were best, some of the DI and amped captures matched, while others were physically different. This offers unique layering capabilities for some sets while allowing for variety in others. Some of the sets are missing particular strength recordings at specific positions. But if a capture wasn’t appropriate, we didn’t include it.

    This is a bountiful collection of droning goodness. Use it for good.

    Box 1. Earthquake Detector:

    littleboxes earthquake detectorA small device meant to be hung flat on the wall, the balls will swing and strike the strings if the ground begins to move.
