Sometimes you need that background sound to define the mood: The buzzy insomnia of a flickering light, a lost alien transmission, the lazy spin of a fan above, haunting radio static, the violent rush of air as you free fall into terminal velocity…
With noise sounds recorded from an incredible array of sources, if it goes hum, whir, buzz, or hiss this library has got you covered.
All natural and organic sounding makes this versatile library an outstanding resource for both film and game sound designers.

The RE-201 Space Echo. Introduced in 1973 is Roland’s most notable outboard FX unit, its sound is both utility and musical. The Space Echo carves its place in music history with its sweeping echoes and infinite oscillations. Its warm and pleasant sound has been heard a million times in a million different ways in both score and album. Hear its soothing oscillations, its creaking pleather case, switches, knobs, and vintage science fiction expressive UI and emotive aural gestures.
We have designed this library to be as useful as possible while offering an insight into every sound the RE-201 Space Echo offers. This means both the internal, and external sound sources from the whirls and vibrations of its motor, to the clicks, snaps, and clunks of its switches and into the world of its echoes, spring reverb, and oscillations of its processed sound.

Databending: A digital art form where flaws in digital systems are exploited and used for creative purposes.
Data Disruption contains 200 sounds sourced from raw computer files which have been interpreted as audio data. Bitmaps, executables, plugin files and more have been exploited to bring you a unique, varied collection of sound effects and atmospheres ready for a range of productions.
This sound collection has 100 'raw' files which include harsh, random data noises, intense drones and a versatile selection of glitch one shots as well as 100 processed sounds which were subject to extreme editing and mangling to deliver an array of abstract sonic artefacts.
Most useful for scenarios where computer technology – known or otherwise – is glitching out, these sounds are best suited to Science Fiction productions which call for the noise of broken communications, signal failures, ailing machines, industrial settings, planetary ambience and dystopian soundworlds.
That's not to say they won't also come in handy for Glitch/IDM music producers looking to build up an original collection of sounds for their latest kit, or for the creative sound designer to further shape these sounds into anything from user interface clicks, blips and bleeps to surreal soundscapes and beyond.
TEXTROBOT is a NI Kontakt instrument designed to help you in the sound design of UIÂ sounds and to produce retriggered samples for VFX text animations.
All 165 sounds are easily accessible using a MIDI master keyboard from the first octave. You can choose a category to load a set of samples and play it manually, or in the retriggered way (if active) by holding down the note. The full version of NI Kontakt is required to use this library.
• Click (10 samples): very tight, clicky sounds for UI interface usage or small text VFX
• Bleeps (16 samples): it contains bleeping sounds, tones, and alerts for telemetrics and sci-fisound design
• Big Size (16 samples): a collection of low frequency sounds for big title animation
• Percussive (22 samples): organic and processed percussive sounds like shakers, maracas, and woods for multimedia apps or menu sound design
• Fun (30 samples): a collection of funny sounds for cartoonish motion graphics
• Digital (20 samples): glitches and lo-fi sounds for experimental videos
• Keys (28 samples): keyboards, typewriters, and mouse sounds
• Mechanical (23 samples): switches, clangs, squeaks, and metal impact sounds for mechanic motion graphics
Looking for sounds that make you want to grab a warm blanket and stay inside? This collection has thunder and rain recordings collected during window-shaking storms from 2012 to 2015.
Most sounds are recorded in Helsinki, where summers contain a few weeks of hot weather accompanied by dramatic thunderstorms.
It also features a hot, violent storm captured in France that lasted several hours.
With recordings that last from 13 seconds to over a half hour, you're sure to get all the drizzling and cracking thunderclaps you're looking for!
If you're after electromagnetic sounds, this library delivers: Captured with The LOM Elektrosluch 3+ throughout 2015. The sounds heard with this special piece of equipment are other-worldly, ghostly and oftentimes, scary. If you haven't managed to get your hands on one yet, or missed out while pre-orders we're presenting this library as the definitive Elektrosluch 3+ sound. Hear the analog and digital: screaming whirls of electronic servo motors, the intense hum and whoosh of new and old transformers, and the pained glitching of processors and data paths of a circuit-bent Furby.Â
We have designed this library to be as useful and versatile as possible to be used in every application, from television, music sampling, theatre, to film. We recorded, edited and hand-picked a selection of science fiction-inspired electrical props in order to obtain the best sound sources for this library. All sounds have not been processed through special effects processors, they are simply the sounds of Electromagnetic Fields, recorded with a LOM Elektrosluch 3+.

Get the sounds of a Printrbot 3D printer – with four NEMA 14 stepper motors -, in this interesting SFX library by New Sound Lab.
The high torque motors connected to a pulley system control the X-Y-Z movements of the aluminum extruder and metal print bed. When printing three-dimensional objects, these fast and precise movements result in a unique barrage of percussive and rhythmic mechanical noise.
These sounds were captured using three different recording setups: Barcus Berry contact mics, RF coils, and combined contact mic / RF coil into a Sound Devices 702 recorder.
The resulting sounds are a mix of grainy, gritty atonal patterns, robotic percussive bleeps, glitchy digital beeps/clicks, low fidelity drones, and chaotic noise. Both raw recordings, and processed elements are included and ready for further sound manipulation.

This library was created to provide designers with drag and drop sounds for sweeps, fades, surges, swells, and other embellishments. Each of the sounds in this collection were designed to be used to heighten events, but they can be mashed, stacked, and chopped to create all sorts of eclectic designs. There are plays on musical concepts as well as thematic events, with each sound purposefully building up, culminating in a peak moment, and then dissipating in some way. They are organized into 100 families (designs) with 5 variations each, ranging wildly in topic, movement, duration, dynamics, attack, release, loudness, density, and speed. Some are natural and organic while others are completely rigid and synthetic (and some fall variably in between).
If you need to festoon the heck out of a scene or event in your project…If you need some complex SFX designs craftily layered and ready-to-go…If you need a diverse set of easy-to-tweak, overflowing sonic enrichment, then look no further. You’ve found it.
Twisted universe gets you a multitude of designed sounds: impacts, whooshes, loops, soundscapes, alarms, tension layers, zaps and much more. These sounds are all designed with synths and raw materials and processed with distortion, fuzz or deconstruction gears. You can use them dry or as layers to add a crispy effect to your sound, and they are perfect for radio effects, electric elements or music productions.
In this bundle you will receive three libraries full of dark, glitchy and ambient textures. 'Glitch & Noise' brings abstract and interesting tones to your sound palette. 'Twelve Tones' has detailed industrial hums for your spaceship interiors. 'Sphere' has dark atmospheres made from bowing a metal bin, which were then processed and mangled using Twisted Tools Slayer. Whether your project is a sci-fi soundscape or a shredded atmosphere, this bundle has something for everyone.
Thunder & Rain is a sound library that delivers the recordings of two storms. It includes a total of 46 audio files, split into three folders: STEREO, MS and UPMIX 5.1. It also comes with 40 audio files in the AS REC MS (NO De-Noise) folder.
De-noise was applied to most of the recordings, to only preserve thunder FX, but you have the NO De-Noise folder included too.
Create your own thunder ambiences with the included Winds/Storm/Rain files (in the preview below, I used the Rain file in addition to thunder files).
Metal Atmosphere is a collection of contact microphone recordings of wire fences vibrating in the wind.
The library consists of 29 recordings ranging from 1 minute to over 10 minutes in length. These have been recorded by taping JrF contact microphones to wire fences and other structures through which sound travels easily.
Most of the sounds are made by the wind “playing” the wires as a huge stringed instrument, while a few others are recordings of submerged wooden fences. The tone is generally dark, even menacing, bringing desolate spaces to mind.
The sounds can be used as backgrounds even if they technically aren’t proper ambiences, as there is a certain degree of similarity between the two channels which creates a fake stereo field. About half of the files also include wind gusts and wind-specific dynamics which renders them easily identifiable as wind sounds, only with extra metal elements added. Additionally there are countless impacts, risers and swells included which can easily be cut out and used as spot effects. All files are recorded and mastered at 24/96 quality which makes them excellent sound design elements ripe for serious processing.
In total, more than 2 hours of metal atmospheres and resonances from unique sources – tagged with comprehensive metadata.

When recording and collecting sound effects, you end up with a lot of noise: Microphone hits, Plosives, Wind pops, rattles, drops. Just plain noise.
These unwanted orphan sounds often get deleted, or end up in a some forgotten folder. Then sometimes you need a sound. A timbre that you just can't name. A raw sound that though manipulation, can become new and remarkable. That's what this SFX library is: Raw, dirty, short sounds that in the right hands – your hands – have potential. Raw Noise features 40 HD 24bit/96khz compilation tracks with a large selection of Hits, pops, plosives and transient sounds, ready for manipulation. From veteran Hollywood Sound Designer Lenny Jones.
Most of the sounds are short, a second or two. Organized into loose categories to encourage new discoveries and new possibilities. The demo track features selections of the tracks, so you can hear the sounds as they are presented.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
