    This Historical Weapons library features all the clashes, rings, snicks, taps, whooshes and scrapes you need for your next battle-based project! Our Audio Craftsmen recorded two professional swordsmen engaging in duels with an array of authentic swords, including an 18th century court/small sword, Victorian infantry sabre, High Medieval long sword, Renaissance rapier and more!

    This useful collection also includes recordings of medieval weaponry (battle axe, hand axe, warhammer) hitting and scraping the the edge, front and boss of Medieval wooden shields. The same weapons were further utilised in flesh impact sounds (where their contact made with a juicy watermelon is captured).

    Our multi-mic configuration (comprising the Sennheiser MKH50, Røde NTG-3 and Line Audio CM4 Stereo Pair) provide additional perspectives to the sounds and offer a multitude of layering options. Perfect for film, TV, game or documentary projects requiring action and historical accuracy!

    Sound have been separated into the follow categories:
    Flesh Impacts: Gory impacts and movement made with Medieval weapons. MKH50 and NTG-3 perspectives.

    Shield Impacts: Medieval weapons hitting various parts of shields. Recorded with the MKH50.

    Swords: With sub-folders General Swords, Long Sword, Medieval Sword, Rapier, Sabre and Small Sword. Contains single hits and performed swordfights. Perfect for your Inigo Montoya moments! MKH50 and CM4 perspectives.

    Whooshes: Performed with a wooden stick and Renaissance rapier for representing both light and heavy weapons.

    Each file contains multiple takes of the named action.

    All sounds were recorded in 24Bit 192kHz, and have been tagged with extensive UCS metadata for ease of use.

  • Metal Sound Effects Sonomar Collection: Magnetic Play Track 1841 sounds included $179

    Experience the power of magnetic force with Sonomar Collection: Magnetic, featuring over 1,600 designed impacts, rattles and scrapes as well as the 200+ raw recordings used to create them. With deep tonal resonances, subtle debris rattles and sharp impacts, Magnetic offers a wide variety of high quality recordings for your sound design needs that showcase all aspects of magnetic attraction. Use it as a toolkit to design pulses, subs, punches and beyond.

    To capture these sounds, sound designer and recordist Martin Pinsonnault (Big Little Lies, Dallas Buyers Club) and the team at Sonomar amassed a collection of magnets – ranging from small watch batteries to large speaker magnets and a variety of metal objects. Using MKH-8040 microphones in an XY setup, Sonomar recorded numerous vibrations, collisions and resonances resulting from a wide range of magnetic intensity. The high sample rate of 192kHz opens up limitless potential for pitching and processing, a feature that is masterfully exemplified by the designed sounds within the collection that are ready to use in your audio projects.

    Each sound file is embedded with diligent metadata to help you find the exact sound effect you need with fast, pinpoint search. Enable creativity with detailed descriptions of each recording encompassing both literal sonic qualities as well as the images they invoke. Advanced metadata fields include translated French descriptions and additional info to ensure compatibility across any database search platform such as Soundminer, BaseHead, Netmix, Workspace (Pro Tools), Find Tool (Media Composer), Media Bay (Nuendo), Reaper, Adobe Premiere, and beyond.
